Lots of different things work for lots of different people. For me, I found peppermint tea really helpful to settle things down, and also frequent simple meals (dry toast, crackers, clear soup - I'm a chicken noodle fan!) Try eating something as soon as you wake up....I found that if I left eating until after my morning shower, the M/S would hit me really bad.
I didn't try any other remedies but I know there are natural things you can buy at the chemist to help calm things down. I'm sure others will let you know.
