Need some support for appt today...

So today is 12 weeks by clinical dates. Going to get the NT bloods done, wee test, all the usual stuff.

It's with my GP, the one who dropped the ball on my hospy referral. This will be the first time I have seen her since going ballistic at the clinic for not having sent my referral through to the hospital. She doesn't think it's a big deal - the hospital do, and I have felt caught in the middle all the way through.
The hospy midwife suggested I go to a different GP, but I don't want to as she is generally excellent, very thorough, and knows my history.
So now, I feel like I was right to have spoken up, but the actual detail of how to handle the aftermath like a grown-up is making me REALLY nervous.

Any tips, or advice, or just some general encouragement?

Don't be nervous. Feedback to your GP about her practice will only help her improve so she is probably grateful you raised the issue with her.

Hope it all goes well - the GP will always play it down if she was at fault, which it certainly sounds like she was......let us know how you get on

the hossy needs the referral - end of story. We didn't realise our referral to the FS ran out after 12 months (even though we were in the midst of treatment)... after we hit our head against the wall a few times, we got a new referral.

I'm sure it will all be fine. If in doubt next time a referral is needed, don't leave without one in your hand. I can never rely on our clinic faxing anything.

congrats on hitting week 12, btw.

I think you made the right decision, but probably the most concession you'll get about the mistake is ''oh it's policy'', if your lucky you'll get ''there was a communication problem'' and if they're super guilty and super sorry you'll get a ''oh there was a computer problem''. Smile, be gracious, and double check everything your Dr does for the next few weeks until you feel secure again. It's your baby, who else is gonna go ballistic about it's best interests? So don't worry about that part. Your doing good, hope you have a wonderful appointment

I am sure you would have handled it well. You need to be able to speak up and when you are pregnant you need to know that people are going to do their jobs. Good luck for today. Hopefully from now on she will double check all of your needs because you have spoken up before and she knows that you won't just lie down like a doormat.
Don't stress. I am sure it will be fine. xo

    Went well!
She was SO apologetic. But, courtesy of Traveller's advice, I went in ready to shrug off any patronising words with "it's feedback" But she ended up saying that herself. Huh.
She is very thorough - she did double check a lot of my needs, but she tends to do that anyway. She's certainly not shy with a pathology form! 5 little tubes of blood taken, and one wee cup!

But, yeah, thanks to you all, and this experience, I feel so much more confident in my ability to speak up and get what I need.

Yep. I knew she was, which I guess is why I was so nervous about going in there after going postal at her staff.
