yeah it does, even the fits like 3-6 months can be massive and DD is 4 months next week and these clothes wouldn't come close and she is no light weight nor is she short

hhmmm we originally thought 000 was the typical new born size and have some of those but only a few 0000 ..I guess we can pick more up after she is born
I had 0000 as the newborn size, but my DD was so tiny when born (2.56 kgs) that those swum on her. Fortunately we were given some 00000s as gifts afterwards and Mum came down and stayed and bought us some more. She was in 00000 for about 6-8 weeks.
It sort of depends on the baby. I would keep at least a few 0000s, even if bubs is only in them for a very short while.
Like others have said, every baby is different. But from anecdotal evidence, if both parents were big babies and are tall people, it seems the babies will be big too (assuming they are full term). Likewise, if both parents are short the babies tend to be smaller. A BIG generalisation I know, but it seems to work.
An example: I am 5 foot 8 (so not short) and DH is 6 foot 6 (MASSIVE) so our boys were both on the large-side and neither were in 000 for more than 2 weeks. I was given 0000 clothes as gifts but these went straight to the Salvos. (My eldest who is 4 in June is now in size 6 t-shirts LOL!)
My old girl was 5 pound 2 and 47cm long, the bonds 00000 suits were huge on her but my second daughter was 7 pound 4 and 48.5cm and she barely fit into the 0000 bonds suits. DD2 was only a kilo bigger and a cm longer then DD1 but it was enough to make her jump a size. But both of them fit into other brands 0000 easily for several weeks. Alot of the smaller sizes i had got passed to my sister and then back again so even if bub doesnt wear them much they can always be passed along to someone you know.
Hi yea I would say go the 0000 and have some 000 too.
My boys were big - 9lb 4.5oz 54cm long and
10lb 5oz 56cm long
and they were both in 0000
Bonds wondersuits are fabulous, but they are tiny compared to other brands. 0000 probably is regarded as the 'new' newborn size now, but they grow so quickly that they really aren't in them for long. I would rather start off with 000 and know that they will get full wear out of it even if the sleeves are rolled up a bit LOL as opposed to buying clothes that fit perfectly that they will only wear for a short time.
