I've been coughing pretty much all the time for the last 3-4 days with this cough/cold I have..... it's REALLY annoying me, not only because it's annoying but it's hurting my stomach muscles now. I try to cough gently but it's hard sometimes.
Is this bad for the baby in any way or are they pretty resilient little things in there? I just hope i'm not upsetting bubs too much, i would have no idea?!
Geez I would hate to have bronchitis that would be bad......
Nah, you're probably giving bubs a nice massage. The amount of fluid around them, they're not going to be bothered by coughing. It will drive you completely batty though.
Oh you poor darling! Coughing while youre pg is sooooo uncomfy. I'm sure your bub is fine though
If you want a tip to stop coughing - put vicks vapourub on your feet with socks on to go to bed - it works for me!
Hope you get better soon xo
Oh I just noticed this is my 700th post! Yay!!

Thanks girls. It's one of those dry irritating coughs where it feels itchy my poor belly and ribs feel a bit bruised!!! Glad it can't hurt bubs though thanks.
I'm going to try the Vicks on the feet tonight with socks (i wear socks to bed anyway) so that hopefully should work! Thanks! I have in the past rubbed it on my chest but then it stains my singlets/clothes!!
Oooh good hint about the vicks - have to try that here cos I'm coughing my lungs out all the time too (and nothing has happened Ren, so I wouldn't worry, I think they are tucked up pretty nice and cosy inside)
Can you take codeine? Its very good at stopping the spasming coughs. I had whooping cough last year so i know what you mean about being sick of coughing!! I was also sick of DH complaining about it LOL
Do you know anyone that has a asthma spray? It is safe to use as I asked my doctor....it helps get rid of that annoying cough that lingers after having a cold....if not try a cough suppressant with codine in it....but make sure u tell the chemist your pregnant
I asked the pharmacist recently about the garlic and horseradish in case I was pregnant and he consulted his book and said the horseradish is not -it promotes your period. It's 'safeness' may depend on where you are in pregnancy (?) so it may pay to check first.
I hear you!!!! I have had a cough since 24 weeks pregnant, started with the dry type tickle then went to flem after about 6 weeks, went to the doc's after a few weeks, there was nothing they could do. Went back when it turned flemy and ended up on penicilllin, within 24 hours I felt like a new person. But as it always happens the kids got it and now I have it back again, I just am praying that it does'nt last as I am booked for a c-section in Sep and would hate to be coughing like that, then!!!! Yes I pulled muscles and was in absolute agongy, not to meantion my muscles just gave up on holding wee and the big dry retch and the supermarket cash register. Hope we all get over it soon 10 weeks is way to long to have varying degrees of coughing
