HUgs hun....What was your latest A1C. According to my ob and endo the big risk of defects only really kicks in if your a1C gets over 10. All diabetics regardless of control have a slightly increased risk but it only reallt becomes an issue to be concerned about if your a1c hits double figures. So try not to panic on that score. They can really put the wind up you hey. Some of these obs like to give you all the doom and gloom scenarios. Having said that you do need to be aiming for super tight control for the rest of the pregnancy to avoid all the other pregnancy complications that could occur as I am sure they have told you.

HUgs from one who has been there just recently...it is not a nice place to be.....
