hi i think this is a personal choice, i dont anyone will jump on here and say there drinking caused problems, but the truth is we really dont know what effect alcohol has on a developing baby.
i would wait (and are waiting) until at least 20+ weeks and then it would only be 1 drink, no more.
i had a GF that at a party we were at drunk 3 glasses of champagne then 2 ****tails then went to do tequilla shots (i stopped the shots), i think that this is excessive.
if its the taste you want, i think half a glass would be fine. we all miss things when we are pregnant but its only 9 months.

My FIL swears by the non alcoholic coopers. If he thinks it tastes like beer....then I'd say it does!!
I have had a few drinks in my last two pregnancies, only one or two the whole time, but my Dr assured me not to worry. I do think the worry is the problem!! Anyway, saying that I am not having any at all this pregnancy, only because Im getting older and seriously, if I have one drink I feel like crap for at least a day after!! The ms is enough for me!
I understand that the advice is to avoid it fully, but I would be absolutely astounded if a glass or two of red caused a problem. I think the amount of sugar and caffeine that is consumed during pregnancy is far worse. Not to mention allergens etc. Moderation is the key xoxoxo

I am guilty of having a couple of wines through my pregnancy (and it would have only been a half a glass at a time)...I wasn't a big drinker in the first place and I did wait till after 20 weeks.

Yep, I had about 4 glasses throughout my whole pregnancy. On the nights I had a glass, I found found it really helped me sleep which was great because I wasnt sleeping well some nights. There is no evidence to suggest that alcohol in small amounts affects your baby so go ahead and enjoy a glass.

I didn't even have a sip whilst pregnant and still haven't as I'm breastfeeding still.
I got married when i was 4 months pregnant and didn't even have champers for the toasts, but that's just me.
The research they have done doesn't conclude exactly how much alcohol is dangerous so to me i think it's best to avoid it all together, but again, that's just me

Well, I guess it comes down to personal choice. I use to drink quite a lot before I fell pregnant, but I dont think its worth the risk. I cant wait for the day I can sit back and have a cold beer or a glass of red, but for now I only want whats best for my little man, and if that means no alcohol then thats fine with me

For those of you missing champage apparently Maggie Beer's Desert Peals non-alcoholic sparkling is a great option - I am trying to find somewhere that stocks it and I think it sells for around $16 a bottle.

European alcohol free beer is the best and the Erdinger Alcohol free beer is great. If you can find it, buy it!
