Question Is there any risk having a short speculum inserted??

    Hi there All

Just a quick question - I'm just back from the doctors and I'm wondering if it is safe to have a short (it was pretty small) speculum inserted into your vagina - I've had some uncomfortability and she wanted to have a proper look - there was no scraping done - but now I'm a little worried about this - I know it's too late but at the time she assured me it was OK but now I'm just a little concerned.

Anyone else had an internal done with a speculum whilst in earlish pregnancy??

    thanks

Sorry can't help you there. I haven't had an internal at all during this pregnancy (nor during any of my unsuccessful ones.

thanks - it didn't hurt when done and it was very quick - the doctor was confident with what she was doing - also I went and had an US shortly after and the Cervix has been noted as closed - so I'm assuming that would minimise any risk - goodness me - I hope this anxiety subsides - otherwise I'm gonna be a nervous wreck for the next 26weeks
