The pains in my stomach are dreadful. And I really just want to get it all out but it's building up so much that I'm afraid of a nuclear disaster
Any suggestions?

Given that you are only 10 weeks (?) I would go and lie down on your tummy. Or go for a walk. Or try massaging your stomach... rub in a clock-wise direction (in the direction of your bowel).
double post
Sue, when I was a nanny one of the girls I looked after has an appendectomy & the way they did it was to fill her up with gas. After the doctor told her the best thing to do to eliminate the gas was to walk. Sorry to hear about your wind problem but I hope it is over soon.
Might be an idea to google wind/gas causing foods cause certain things can gas you up pretty bad. Maybe avoid those foods for a while. HTH
Dumb question...but is wind worse during pg???? I had it really bad when i fell with DD and now i've had it really bad the last few days as well.
I say just go for it!! Better out than in!(and heaps less painful)
Try weak peppermint tea (always takes the cramps out for me) and also you can try to lay in a certain position - but it will depend on how flexible you are at this stage!
You get on your hands and knees, then rock back so your bottom is on your heels. Put your arms out straight (on the ground or bed) and put your head between them (so your rear end is in the air!). This often moves the gas (out unfortunately!)
Good luck!![]()
Oh I remember this well. I found doing pregnancy yoga or aquarobics classes helped. Specifically movements that involve twisting the torso, which stimulates the digestive system so it helps you move the air and makes you feel hungry! But there were a few yoga classes that were a bit embarassing![]()
I'm a subscriber to Nettie's 'butt in the air' technique. Usually works after awhile.
Thanks so much girls, all your suggestions are great!
Still getting some, off and on though, so not that bad at the moment.
Ugh.

Peppermint Water.
..and a cat pose.
It's quite a relaxing pose really, so settle into it for as long as you can. I found at least 3 - 5 minutes beneficial. Depends on how it feels pregnant, I suppose!
Funnily enough I tried this pose when I was getting some pain after getting 11 days overdue to give birth. I'd kinda forgotten that I'd go into labour some day and thought I was getting bad wind - but I was in labour!!!It didn't help with labour pain, sorry
