Geez that tech sounds like the one I had doing my DD's hip u/s at 6 weeks "I dunno why they sent you so early nothing will show up, you need to come when bubs is 10 weeks old, her adjusted age is only 2.5 weeks" on and on she went.

DD was in a Pavlik harness 3 days later...and at 10 weeks, when this chick thought we should be going back to check for hip issues, DD was OUT of her harness because we caught it early!

Some people have NO bedside manner, and I would really complain!

Hope things pan out A OK for your sis.

I had kinda the same thing. Found out i had PCOS whilst trying to conceive #2 and then had her and fell pregnant by accident for a third time. Blood test was normal. I was pregnant. Had a US at 5 weeks for dates and the sac was empty, but was told that it was too early anyhow and not to stress. Had another scan at 8 weeks and it was still empty, so i had a D&C.

I wish from my heart that this does not happen to your sister and that the baby flourishes well.

    GL. Keep us updated.

My first scan was at about 5 weeks and they could see the sac but not the heart. A week and a half later we could see heartbeating too.

Hope everything works out for your sister.

I cant believe how badly she is being treated. Absolutely disgusting! I agree with making a complaint, about the us tech and the termination booklet!!

With my now 3yr old, I had a scan done at about 4-5weeks and they sent me home saying no sac, not pregnant and my PCOS was to severe to ever fall pg. Imagine my surprise when 5-6weeks later my bub was 10weeks along at a scan at another docs! Lol.

    Hope it all works out.

    Thanks for all the replies!
I think she is getting her 2nd BT results back today to make sure the HCG levels are rising. She has been getting some cramps but I said that's normal as long as there is no blood Will let you know!

    FX for good news!
I had huge cramping up until about 15 weeks, so that could be a good sign

She went to the US and sadly has lost the baby at some stage. Poor thing is at work and can't leave Her hubbie is away for work till Saturday so she is dreading calling him, plus letting all her friends know.

I am at a lost at what to say to her.

I'm so sorry to hear that Having had a similar loss, I would say just be there for her, and give her lots of hugs. Please try not to say "it wasn't meant to be" or similar things because no matter how well intentioned, it can hurt to hear that said about your baby.

I completely agree with Traveller here. The worst things anyone said to me were the "it wasn't meant to be" or "something was wrong with it" or even "you've got a little boy already..." Although well intentioned, very hurtful
