What do you eat for lunch?

I know this is a strange question...but I was wondering what everyone eats for lunch while they are at work?
I used to eat sushi or rice paper rolls before I was pregnant but I am not sure what quick lunchtime food I can now eat.
I am also gluten intolerant so can't grab a sandwich or pasta.
    Any ideas?

Winter's a really good time for having soup! I had it all the time when I was pregnant! Or perhaps try a curry with hot rice instead?

Thanks Marydean. I have been having soup but I worried that maybe it wasn't safe if I bought it from a cafe and it had been sitting in a big pot all day over the stove?

I have toasted cheese sangas most days. you could have that on gluten free bread (my mum has a gluten free diet).

I would say the soup would be ok IF it was kept at a really really hot temp for the whole day.

You know I've been craving ham and cheese toasties all day (I know I'm not allowed to have ham).

I have a toastie machine at work too...thanks!! Why didn't I think of that?

Ive been having ham, avocado and pineapple toasted sandwiches. Ymmo! I thought a couple yrs ago i was gluten intolerent as well and it is so hard sometimes, but i don't consume any dairy except a little lactose free milk which i'm steering clear of atm too. I made a broth the other day and froze half of it and we are having it for dinner on a bed of Basmatti rice apparently the best to have in regards to health so my kinesiologist has told me!

I eat a lot of the california rolls, just the vegiterian variety. This pregnancy I have craved a fair bit of fatty food (even though after I eat it I feel crap) so I have kababs, curries (vegi), red rooster chicken and chips!!!

mmmmm, hot chips *wipes drool off face*

Soup is a good option. I have had ham and cheese toasties, just make sure they are hot.

It gets a bit boring eating the same thing everyday doesnt it? Lucky for me i am craving fruit so big variety there.

If u buy the ham fresh and toast it it should be ok!! I have done that a few times (sed to be a huge ham eater and from about 14 weeks thought of it was blah!!!) but have craved it a few times and had it.

Other things i have had for lunch are cheese (chedder) and bickies, soup (campbells micro container things are good) Or chips is my down fall and steamed dim sims!!!!

I also have to eat gluten free - makes life waaay complicated sometimes. The other option I do is to have baked potatoes if I can find 'em. I just avoid the meat toppings if I think they're iffy.

Otherwise if you can find somewhere that does gluten free sandwiches? easier said than done, I know! Or I just bring in soup, my own bread etc. I can't do most pre-made stuff cos I can't eat onion either - and pre-made soup/curry etc is usually onion-central!

Apparently the vegie sushi & rolls are ok if made fresh - but I think it's a personal preference if you feel comfortable having it, and are confident in the freshness of the ingredients.

You've got my sympathy tho! I've found I ALWAYS need to have something in my bag (i.e. gf bar) in case of being caught short... and forgetting to eat. It just hits so much harder when you're PG!

Mmm I feel like chips now!
