My cruel dh just brought a blue brie (1kg size!!) which is in the fridge. I'm thinking of ways I can seek revenge lol ............ soft cheese is what I miss, washed down with a good red...!
I'm hanging out for TWO glasses of cold white wine. I've had a few sips of wine spread out over the last two months but it's just not the same as one whole glass with the option of having another.
I'm also missing my favourite local dish here in Vietnam - steamed clams with lemongrass. Every time I go out someone orders it and it smells soooooo good.
Im due tomorrow and theres a peice of brie in my fridge just waiting to be eaten with a nice drop of cab sav
My DP keeps asking if he can eat the brie but Ive told its all mine!!
Ive been easting feta throughout my pregnancy as my midwife said as long as its pasturised and cryovacted its ok??? This seems to be different from info a lot of others on here got lucky nothing happened!!
What I don't get is that they say no soft cheeses because the milk isn't pasteurised, yet in Australia it is illegal to sell soft cheese that ISN'T made from pasteurised milk. So, if you've let some through the filter, I don't think it warrants the panic many people will try to impose on you!
Oooh, yes!
Blue cheese (especially aged blue, Stilton)
Other soft cheeses incl goats cheese
Champagne
Smoked salmon (not cooked or in something)
medium rare steak
Antipasto with prosciutto, salami etc
Choc thickshake
But mostly the blue cheese, I love the stuff!
I'm looking forward to not having to obsess about everything I eat when I'm out or somewhere unfamiliar. I was in hospital the other night and asked for a cheese sandwich (face it, there are not many we are allowed to eat) and got an assorted bunch of egg, ham and pickle, mayo and chicken, and cheese and tomato. So I could only eat 1! You think they'd manage better for pregnant chicks, really.
I'm missing lots of things, considering everything I need to avoid I love!!!
Champagne!!!
Beer!!!
Smoked Salmon
Chocolate milkshake from McD's (not had one in about 3 years, but now missing them sooooo much!!)
Brie
Runny eggs from brekkie!!!
Oh, but such a small price to pay for a gorgeous wee baby!!!
I can't wait to be able to stomach eggs again.
Also:
blue cheese
brie/ camembert
salami
beer
wine
champagne
fish (can't stomach the thought)
oysters
The list is endless for me right now, lots of things are making me feel sick!
I can't wait to be able to wear my perfumes again, the smells are just awful just now. Even my most favourite one has me hurling.
I found out soft cheese is okay if cooked......so now I have a hankering for some deep fried camembert...uh oh!
Oh I love all you blue cheese girls!!!!
I love the King Island Roaring Forties Blue...
And every other banned cheese on our list!
Hot spicy salami...
Prosciutto...
Sushi Sushi Sushi Sashimi Sashimi Sashimi
A massive ice cream sundae from Maccas
A James Squire amber ale or 2... or 3... might have to wait til BF finishes tho but I'm dreaming about it!
My hubby is cooking dinner right now and I'm SO hungry... this thread has made me drool like a water fountain.
I think the only things I have not eaten has been prawns, cold chicken, soft cheese, and coffee really
Yes I have had the occasional piece of cold salami, cold ham, poached eggs, and I plan on enjoying a glass of bubbly at my baby shower
I have been fussy about some things but not everything.
