I used Palmer's stretch mark cream throughout my pg, and I didn't get any stretchmarks while I was pg......they all appeared within days of the birth! So I just used Bio Oil for awhile afterwards. I didn't have alot of stretchies, but they were fairly nasty looking ones. I hadn't thought about them for awhile, this thread reminded me! I've just checked and they're all gone, not a one in sight WOOHOO! Guess I can look forward to getting some more soon though .
I'm not going to worry about using a cream during this pg, if I do end up with some more stretchies, then I'll just use Bio Oil again afterwards.
Happy Event, $5.50 a tube from the chemist or an online pharmacy.
My mum used it for all 3 pregnancies, not a single stretchmark. I'm on pregnancy number 3 now and I've never had a stretchmark on my tummy (and I am prone to them, I have them on my hips from rapid weight gain as a teenager).
I personally hate cocoa butter, I think it is overrated as a moisturiser, but that's just my personal preference.
Ooops forgot to post that on the Happy Event tube it says to keep applying for 4 weeks after the birth of your baby....so yes, apparently it is not uncommon to get stretchmarks after the baby is born!
well i wont start bragging to early then hehe
nah, i havent gotten any yet, but i just KNOW i am not that lucky, ill get them its just a matter of time, even tho i have been super careful looking after my skin, i know theres no miricle treatment LOL
I used almond oil and palmers tummy butter every day all over my belly and not one stretch mark...on my belly. Unfortunately genetics and skin elasticity were against me and I got horrible ones basically everywhere else - on my hips, butt and inner thighs!!
I still use both product and at least they are fading now and I know for next time to use the almond oil and tummy butter everywhere, not just my belly!
I've been using Bio Oil morning and night with the Palmers Stretch Mark Cream occassionally in between...skins looking great, so far.....I also think the Fish Oil that I take every day would help from the inside too.
I think it's all a matter of lucky genetics, my mum had 6 kids and no stretch marks, hopefully I'll take after her!
