In most cases you would be able to see the heart beat at around 6 weeks.

It is common for heartbeats not to be visible on an u/s until after 6 weeks as well. I have been able to see my baby's heartbeats earlier, but all of them have been transvaginal u/s as they can't really see much just from the outside. From what you described it all sounds good and normal

You should definitely be able to see a heartbeat on the u/s around 8 weeks so that is something to look forward to.

Sounds like you are in for another TWW. I hope that it is a quick 2 weeks for you.

    Congratulations on your pregnancy!!!

We saw a HB at 6w2d with Niki but only saw the sac and yolk with this one at 5w3d. We later saw a HB and foetus at 8 weeks.

Foetal Pole grows into your baby, yolk sac I am assuming is the embryonic sac the bub will live in until birth, the Yolk is the placenta in its early stages.

Congratulations and best of luck with your pregnancy

    Hi Hon

We saw Tarko's heartbeat at our first US at 10 weeks. I wouldn't be concerned just yet. Bubs is only teeny weeny at 6 weeks. I'm sure you'll see it thumping away at your next scan.

    Best of luck!

    Hi there,
Dont stress too much, on your next visit you should see a little HB. I was 7wks when I first saw this bubs HB. The yolk is what nourishes the baby until the placenta is fully developed and can take over. Congrats on your pregnancy

THank you NaeNae, reading someone else who's similar with the dating of the first scan to me has really helped settle my mind.

Thank you everyone else for your reassurance. I know i am just being silly and paranoid but its so hard not to be when I am so afraid of losing this one like i did the last.

You're not being silly and paranoid - many women feel exactly the way you do when they first get pg ... I know I did. It is a scary time because there is so much hope pinned on your little bub sticking. I am on my third pg and have had 2 previous pg that both resulted in a full term healthy baby and I still freaked out for the first couple of months this time. It is so normal.

I hope that the next few weeks pass very quickly for you and I am sending you lots and lots of
