I wouldnt go away in first tri (which i see your just past) or third tri.....which means if i were you, i would go somewhere now - its called the honeymoon stage after all..... I just find 3rd tri very uncomfy...and its always at the back of my mind that i could go anytime....a night here or there wouldnt break the budget would it ? then you could still get your much desired baby things....

    Good luck !

We splashed out on a weekend in a really nice B&B in the southern highlands (less than 2 hours drive). I was pretty debilitated with SPD by that stage so I had to ring beforehand to check there wasn't any stairs or hills to climb to get there...it was just really nice spending a couple of days in luxury, doing nothing except paying attention to each other. Highly recommend it!

I have done.. Went on a Christmas Holiday to QLD while PG with Sam and Harry. Sam was born 31/01, and Haz 20/04. No fears though because my kids have always been over... Kinda makes me worry how they are going to get a job when they were even late to their own birth, lol.

DH and I have recently been discussing the same idea. We have just bought our first home, and will settle at about 23 weeks. We have two weeks vacation over this same period, and I also turn 30 that week. We are hoping to go away for about 3-4 days, but are also conscious of money (having just bought a house and preparing for bubs). Will probably spend a few days close to home - in the hinterland or on the coast, only a few hours from home. Not sure yet. Am very conscious this will be our last vacation by ourselves for a while, and we're usually big travellers.

I've got a few somethings booked.
Melbourne at 10wks, for a wedding. That's our announcement to family and friends date.
Hunter Valley at 23 wks for a wedding.
Melbourne at 31 wks for a visit, maybe a baby shower
Sydney at 33 weeks for family pre-Christmas get-together, maybe a baby shower, and to just hang out with mum.

And in between, maybe a weekend up or down the coast, and might go visit my sister in Byron. We'll see how it plays out.
