This is something i feel i would benefit from throughout my PG not only to help later on with movement but my stress and anxiety.
I would like to join a class for pg women if possible and would like to know if anyone knows of any in the SE Melbourne area, ringwood, Mitchem through to FTGully area?
I found it hard to get hold of someone actually experienced in pg yoga.
I really enjoyed doing it but I'm sure they guy didn't have any actual experience with pg women and ended up with a bunged up pelvis due to a particular stretch and needed work to fix it after ds was born. Ouchie!
You loosen up alot during pg and there is a chance you can do damage without realising it - especially if you haven't done it before.
There used to be a "preggie bellies" place in the ringwood area, I would start there to see what they have on offer?
Thanks Lulu, you have highlighted some of my concerns with regards to finding someone who is experienced with pg and exercise. I had a look at the sight you linked, although late nights and early mornings are not sounding appealing! lol i might give it a go.
Loula, I can't help with any recommendations in Melbourne, but I just wanted to add that its a great idea....I find yoga so relaxing and calming. Its a great help during pregnancy, but I definitely second what Lulu is saying about finding an experienced teacher and a class dedicated specifically to pregnancy, particularly if you've not done yoga before.
Good luck finding a class you're comfortable with.
Hun, if it's getting hard trying to find someone - why don't you try Tai Chi?
IT ROCKS and you wont have to worry about overstretching etc.
You do have to be careful starting a new regime when preg......I get the same Zen feeling after a session of Tai Chi as I do from yoga and (I think) less chance of issues.
