Poor little tyke. Hope he's feeling better soon.
I do know how you feel - it's bad enough when they're still adjusting, but to know they're sick also... At least your daycare called you about it. A had a bit of a temperature one day and they didnt' even tell me till pickup time! And he was sick - out of action for the next week and a half.
