Smithy you need a ride on OMG what a work out.

Grub so you're headed to NT too, the army barrocks up there are very distracting hope your mummy visit is going great

Saph it's funny how all children are diff. Linc hasn't got rolls or a fat belly but he's very long and I think that's why, with all the fuss around his milk I was shocked. But I was always off the charts as a baby too

Well we had a minor miricle today after trying Linc on solids again he slept for 2.5hours he hasn't done that day or night for two weeks. I'm at work tonight so fingers crossed he sleeps good for his daddy. I was at the end of my rope this morning but quietly confident, I think due to reflux he doesn't want to drink any more he's still having 7 bottle a day but no extra mls. He really enjoyed the rice cerial (more like milk) smiled and wanted more. He's been fussy with his bottle and screaming at it alot so into the dark room and it seams to work alot better must be over stimulated.

My mind is wondering back to work and I hope you don't mind but I need to vent some insecure thoughts. *****rant alert*****

My assistant took over my job for my Maternity leave and we aranged to meet up a month before I returned so I'd know what was going on, she has been "busy" and this hasn't happened, the manager above me is a "control freak" and has said "she wouldn't alow me to know what's going on until I come back!" not happy at all, she also has said what a "wonderful job" my assistant has done and how "the team is doing so well" I saw red, like I've done nothing like all the fights to bring in new things over the past year were nothing! grrrrr So now I'm left wondering what the F*** is going on, my staff all seam really keen to have me back and when I popped in with Linc the other day they were so happy to see me although my assistant didn't really make eye contact. I smell a rat and it's annoying me. I think after a cuppa and a few niceties I'm going to call her on it, life is way too short for games and I'd rather be at home with my bub than games at work. especially when I could do two night shifts and make the same $$ (don't worry I've thought about it more than a couple of times) just feels like that would be a back step and I'd loose my car which we need as DH has a ute with a bolt in the front but I'm not keen on that.

    Ok vent/rant over.

I'll have to post the pic of Linc with cerial all over his face, he stuck his tonge half way out just licking his lips for ages, it was so so so cute.

hi ladies - haven't been posting in here much - seem to run out of time between work and mobile bubba girl, but thought i'd make a bit more effort today - have been reading though!

anyway - my poppet turned one yesterday!! i can't believe we've had her for a whole year already (well a year and a day!). we had an amazing combined birthday for her and I (i was 30 a few weeks ago and didn't want to have a party, so DH turned DD's into a combined one) - sooooooooo tired now! up til 2am friday night setting up, then up at 7 yesterday to finish getting things like balloons up outside. then we had NINE houseguests (and another half dozen that didn't leave til 11 last night) - the 18 and 16 year olds gave DD jelly last night (not a drama if it was early in the day, but not late at night) - she was on a sugar high and wouldn't sleep until after midnight (and then was unsettled) - will get her t have a decent day sleep soon so we can clean up the last bits and pieces - and then we're having a cake smash photo shoot this afternoon. for those who i have on FB, i'll post some pics a little later

in other news, we are now getting sentences ("where is she" "there she is" "no, i don't want to") and E is WALKING - we went from furniture surfing to walking in a day. she took steps 6 weeks ago, but had no confidence so gave up. nine days short of her first birthday she decided walking was the go and now walks everywhere - except if other people are watching lol.

must away - need to clean up

Firstly a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Miss E - wow time really does fly with these little ones. Glad to hear you had a wonderful birthday and congratulations on the walking too!

Now to everyone else I am so sorry, but this is about to become another ME post. I really will try and come back soon and not be so selfish - I promise!

Anyhoo - Jazzy had another febrile convulsion early on Saturday morning (by the way - those that are on my Facebook, please don't mention on there). We don't really know what caused the temperature this time as she has been well. She had a mild cold over a week ago, but she was well this last week. When I was putting her to bed I noticed that she felt a little hot so took temp - 38.4 - so gave panadol and she went down fine. She woke me about 3am and demanded a breast feed - I noticed she was very hot so temp again - 39.7! As soon as I took it I knew that we were back in that danger area again. So I gave her panadol around 3:15am - she started fitting about 3:25am and fit lasted about 7 mins (about the same as last time). Was uncouncious for about 5 minutes - she just started coming around about the time the paramedics got there. So back to RCH to get checked out. I believe the JUNIOUR doc that we saw there took the easy way out and because she had a bit of dried snot around her nose said that it was an URTI that caused the fever. HELLO!!! Do you not understand that she just had a fit - she was foaming at the mouth and the nose - OF COURSE she has dried snot around her nose. Did you not hear me when I said that she had been fine up until I put her to bed??? Did you not hear me when I said that I went through this all last time and she ended up with mastioditis due to no-one picking up on a middle ear infection??? Anyhow, I demanded AB's - which the doc did provide. Now, I am well aware of the fact that AB's will not work if it is a virus, but there was no way I was going to go the whole weekend before getting to a doc who actually knows our situation without AB's - not after the last time.

So we still don't really know why she is spiking a fever - she still has the fever by the way. I am off to see our NEW GP this afternoon and hoping that she might actually spend the time to try and figure out what is going on. I can tell that she is in pain and not well - but it is NOT a URTI - she does not have a runny nose etc.

Sorry for the vent girls, but just so over doc's saying everything is a virus when I know from experience that this is not always the case. I am probably now going to turn into the sort of mother that doc's hate to see coming, but I really feel that I let Jazzy down last time - I am meant to be her voice and I tell you people are sure going to hear that voice now!

Anyhow, vent over - I hope you are all well. I do promise to come back when I have been to the doc's and also when I have calmed down a bit and can focus on everyone else again.

    !!!

Sorry have been MIA! You know what it's like, not a lot gets done at the moment. And then I stopped getting update emails etc anyway been thinking of you all and actually Smithy I had a dream about you a couple of nights ago!

BG: Happy Birthday to Miss E & a Happy 30th to you too! Welcome to the "Dirty Thirties"!

Janie: How horrible! I hope they find a solution for you. Jump up & down & scream and threaten to call Today Tonight if you have to!

    Hi to everyone else.

AFU: We're doing well. JD is now 10 weeks and weighing in at 6.65kg and just going into his 00 clothes! We've been through half a dozen formula changes, finally settling on regular Karicare. He's lactose intolerant but refuses to drink any of the lactose free or anti reflux formulas.

We've moved him into his cot with success, I think it's just the day sleeps he was refusing (he still only has a couple of short 20min naps a day) We've put the cot in our room for winter, we figure it's much easier to heat 1 room than two. But he's settled a little more now and sleeps around 6hrs from about 8:30pm then has a feed then goes another 4-ish hrs til morning.

Kelly: good luck with your FS appt! I am so jealous, call me crazy but if I could start again tomorrow I would! I just loved being pg and love being a mummy!

I Don't know if or when we'll be able to do it again, the financial side is just so difficult right now and I'm up for a full collection cycle straight up as we have no snowbubs left. I'm madly trying to squirrell away spare cash but TBH we are really struggling at the moment It is so frustrating! DHs new job still only has him as casual. It would be so much better if they would make him permanent and we could have some security. Anyway that's my "me" rant for now!

Must head off, have a very hungry boy and a mountain of washing waiting for me! Have a great Monday everyone!

PS: Just got my new avy! Wow!

Janie - arm yourself with knowlegde and then they have to listen. We demanded an ultrasound for Xaviers hips when he was born because of a family history. They turned out to be okay in the end but with Campbell I had every nurse doc tell me he was fine and eventually demanded an ultrasound and he was in a harness until he was 6 months old. Mum always knows best.

WOW boc what a big boy you have. Xavier was 6.3kg at 13.5 weeks that was the last time we had him weighed.

Smithy glad DH is out of your hair, I'd go mental! if DH was with me all the time.

Saph it's so not fair we have to fight to get things done for our children I know it's worth it but super frustraighting.
Is Xavier still in his cot?

BG happy Birthday to Miss E

Janie I am hoping you get some answers. I know I had some fits when I was a baby when ever I cut a tooth really scared my parents. Thinking of you.

Yesterday when I left Linc with the neighbour who is really lovely he screamed, I didn't think babies knew who they were going till much later but he got alot better and had a good day. My first day back at work went fast and It was nice to catch up. Some good projects to keep me busy and my mind off Linc away from me.
Off to Child Care this arvo for a sleep test.

    Hi Girls,

Green - good to hear that your first day at work went well. I know for me I love being busy - keeps you focused and not thinking directly all the time about your little one.

Well the new GP seems to be a lot better than the other mob. Anyhoo - we are off to see the paedeatrician this afternoon (luckily we got an appointment quickly). Hopefully he will listen to me more than the doc at emergency did. Jazzy had a better night last night with no fevers until just before she woke this morning - was great all night with temps in the 36's then woke up with a fever of 39???? What the??? I just don't understand why. But hopefully we can get some clarity on that this afternoon.

Thanks heaps for all your well wishes - it means a lot. Really sorry was hoping to do more persies, but Miss J has just awoken - so must attend to her needs.

Janie glad that something is happening and someone is listening.

Green yeap as I suspected he is fine in the cot. As he is a crappy day sleeper trying to transition him during the day was useless. He is sleeping through til between 5.30 and 7. If he wakes sort of between 5.30 and 6.30 he will feed and go back to bed until 7.30, so we are all happy campoers here.

Off to check out a new chiro, I think we have paid of the old ones morgage now and need to find a cheaper one. lol

Saph I'm so gelous I'm turning fluro green!! lucky you.

Smithy you are a wonderful planner, I thought I was good but not June good. I'd want to give it to them now.

Janie hope all is getting better and you get some answers.

ATM been so busy this week, Linc as been really unhappy with all the early starts so I'm not doing them work can wait and I"ll get there when I can (they don't know this yet) the cold has made him rattly and I'm not sure but he seems to be snotty again, is this another cold. He's been waking ....... EVERY 40 mins and Yes I still went to work....... zzzzzzzzzzzz bit better last night 10-1.30am before he needed resettling. then it was hourly after his feed at 2.30. I don't know if this is just a faze or what but it can't go on. I'm thinking of going to the stay over night sleep thing if it doesn't stop.

On a funny note Linc has only poo'd for DH this week and today he flilled 3 nappies! sometimes it's good to be at work.

Green - I would be doing the sleep school, I have been considering doing it throughout the day as Xavier is a crappy day sleeper. But I guess you can cope with that if you are getting good sleep at night.

Can I ask you all a personal question. Those of you who are breast feeding did Af come back while you are feeding and if not did you get any spotting. With C I did not get AF until well after I finished feeding him. At the moment I am having some very light spotting. Is this normal.

DH and I have been having the do we want anymore kids talk lately. I have said that I cant make the decision now (considering I am still in pain from Xavier and have just gone back to wearing the same brace I had on during my pregnancy), but I will not go back to AC to get one. So I think we will just continue on as we are and let fate decide for us.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. It is a long weekend here for us but as DH runs his own buisness we are having our long weekend next week as DH wants to do kindy roster on Monday with C so we decided to go away next weekend. First camping trip.AARRGH
