SOMEONE SAY FOOD ...
hi girls,
just a quicky from me ,we had a early scan today and seen our baby yes just 1 lol..and we have a beautiful heart rate of 110 bpm and measuring at 5weeks 3 days soo all good.
Firstly I wanted to say a big congrats to Smithy. You have had a long hard road sweetie! So happy you saw the little one today and that everything is going beautifully! Congrats to you and Coop once again!!
Hi and welcome Greenslw, i hope you enjoy this thread, the girls here are great!!
Kelly - I'm glad you are an easy patient, good girl. Yes looks like we are a lucky bunch in getting to the threshold with IVF and then being able to claim that Pregnancy Maintenance fee before Jan 2010!! And go your little girl giving you all those wonderful kicks!!
Azzrenae - So happy for you that the boys are doing just fine!! Now be good and behave for the rest of your pregnancy ok!!
Jen77 - What a lovely idea writing a letter like that, we have a blog and are keeping track of everything that way, as well as a pregnancy journal/diary (hardcopy) keeping momentos in and measurements etc. But a letter is a great and lovely idea!
Farmgirl - How are you hun?? Hope you are feeling better.
Kahlan - Getting closer huh! Less than 3 weeks! Getting excited????
Murph - You make me laugh, "I'm no earth mother" lol, a little girl YAY!!! Yes i agree its gonna be weird, what with the close monitoring for the first half of the pregnancy and a few scans... then nothing for the second half until the baby is born. At least for the second half you get a daily reminder that someone is kicking around in their, that will make up for it i'm sure. I just hope we can feel the kicks not too much later than everyone else with the anterior placenta...
Grub - We cant wait until the next scan either, finding out whether its a boy or a girl is like the last "present" we get until we have the baby, no more scans unless they are worried about something!! Are you going to have a "keepsake" scan at one of those places they do the 3d/4d scans?
Kaydee - Yay! you are down to single figures (in weeks to go)!!! Go treat yourself to some massages or something for the ouchie ribcage!!
MissMagpie - How was your house move, hope it went smoothly and that you are looking after yourself!!
hiya ladies - just dropping in while miss Emerald is sleeping to wish you all the best - it's so weird not being in here anymore!!!
wanted to say, if you can swing the dollars, get the 4d scan done! it's the most amazing experience!! IF we have any more (and it's a HUGE IF after the pg i had!) there is no doubt in my mind that we'll definitely be getting the 4d scan again. even my "no scans are worth the effort" big brother said if they were to have another, he'd get the 4d scan done - and asked if he could share some of our 4d shots with one of his mates to convince him and his partner to get one as well!
AFM: I was interested (and quite releived) to read that some of you put on most of your weight in the 2nd trimester. i must admit i have been panicking a bit becasue of this absolute sudden weight gain in the last few weeks!!! And I seriously don't seem to have an increased appetite as yet, so I couldn't believe how quickly thi baby was growing! 5 kg's in about 3 - 4 weeks! As a consequence, I am getting loads of back pain at night, so have had to play around with lots of pillows to try and stop my massive belly from pulling my back out. The rib pain is the worst. Anyway, I had a LOVELY pregnancy massage last night, it was heaven. Other than that, just trying to get my psychology study done and dusted by September (am doing an oddly timed semester) and just hope i don't go into labour during exams!
Just droping in very quickly to say hi to everyone and a big congrats to Smithy and Greenslw!
Hi to everyone else and hope that everyone is going well...it is great to see so many here
Not much time to provide news from here - work is flat out and against everyone's advice (except bosses) - i seem to be doing 40-50hr weeks just trying to keep on top of everything They have not found someone to replace me here and so I'm very stressed about that esp as I dont have anyone to hand stuff over too and will have to find time to write everything down...my boss seems to think he will be able to do his and my job when i leave!!! So work is keeping me stressed and awake at night...I really can not wait till I go on leave in 2 weeks .
Tex is growing well - looks on track for a nice 'average' baby, so that is good!
Anyway had better get back to work. Stay well everyone.
Thank you all for the warm welcome. I am still in a bit of shock myself at the 'blob" with a heart beat.
KellyD I'm going private ob too, it's scary what they charge for not long. But at least you get a chose. Glad everything went well
Azzrenae I feel like meat pies, not healthy at all but I can go cake
Murphy Thanks for adding my EDD time is flying already.
Smithy glad things are on track
Briggsy's girl I'd love to have 4D done when is the best time?
LNB I can't wait for my bump it is the best look.
I can't wait to look pg. I just feel bloated atm and nothing is confortable.
I've been really stuffy for the last week and have a script of antibiotics that I wasn't going to take but I can't cope with my nose anymore.
We're slowly telling the important people one at a time and a few must tells don't really have to but it's hard to hide the not drinking or eating my usual fav foods for long with some friends. I can only be on call so many weekends before people ask.
Sorry have been MIA this week. Our house move was very full on and tiring and as much as I didnt lift anything heavy, my back and feet were still aching by the end of the day. I noticed some slight discolouration when going to the loo on Saturday (sorry TMI) then on Sunday it seemed to be fine, Sunday night it was there again and by the time I got to work on Monday it looked like AF was coming so I called my OB and he said to go straight home and rest and to go see him on Wednesday morning. It seemed to ease off and he gave me an ultrasound and I saw bubs kicking and moving HEAPS and its heartbeat was great too. My placenta looked fine so there was nothing to worry about. Apparently the cervix has its own blood vessels which can sometimes burst so thats what was causing the bleeding. I was then back at work yesterday.
It was so good to see bubs kicking me although I still cant feel it as yet. It was so amazing
A BIG welcome to Greenslaw. So nice to see you in here Hope you have a H & H pg.
Azzrenae - WOO HOO, 2 boys! Im so glad all is well with your little bundles
to Grub, FG, Murph, Kelly, Smithy, Neptune, LNB, Kaydee, Twomums and everyone else.
Have a great weekend all Im taking it easy this weekend!
So busy in here! I don't think I'll ever catch up with personals - have been away for too long. Sorry
Welcome to Smithy and Greenslw - so exciting. Congratulations!
And Azz - yay for boys! It is definitely a blue thread turning bluer isn't it.
AFM, well, back is not really getting better any faster, hence my absence from this forum for so long. But I can do 10-15 min stints at the computer, so it's better than nothing.
I've also put weight on recently. I went from putting on nothing at all (not even regaining the weight I lost in the beginning 6 weeks) to having put on about 4-5 kgs (depending what time of the day I weigh myself) in the last three weeks! Insane. And I know it's very very wrong to say this, but I just feel so gross. Bloated. Fat. Can't get comfy. Can't breathe properly - especially at night (probably because I can't stop eating all day long and by the time night comes around there's no room left for my poor lungs).
But, truthfully, despite the not-to-nice bits of pregnancy, I truly am enjoying it. I still pinch myself sometimes. And the boys are incredibly mobile of late. Keeping me up at all hours too
Jen - just wanted to say, i hear you on the sudden weight gain and how yucky it feels. Same here, have put on 5 kg in about 4 weeks and feel a bit gross, plus all of a sudden have sore feet and back pain. Must be so much worse for you with your chronic back pain though. Hope you're okay
Oh my goodness it really does look like I am going to be able to join you in here. After thinking last week that we were going to lose it because my levels didnt rise well they doubled on friday. so more blood tests on Monday and then I think I can stay in here. Wish me sticky vibes.
Saph that sound great good luck tomorrow and keep us posted on those numbers.
Jenc yes it is lookng blue in here isn't it. As for putting on weight I am to scared to check I have only been weighted once at my OB appt and I had put on 2kg in 3 months I can say that I feel twice that today, I feel hugh. I don't think I am craving anything I just love food My bubs are getting really active now It feels great I have my scan tomorrow to check their growth so hopefully they are sharing their nutrients.
Missmagpie I moved house when I was 36 wks with my DD and she came 2 weeks later try to unpack a little bit a day then put your legs up and rest rest rest. I bet you feel relieved that you have got it over and done with.
Greenslw I hope that stuffy nose goes away thats the last thing you want as well as deal with pregnancy symdomes. We held off telling my DH family for the first 3 mths but I couldn't help but tell my family.
Farmgirl work can be so stressful but you can't do it all if they haven' t found a replacement for you then thats their problem not yours, if your boss thinks he can do it let him. I use to work 10 hours a day right to 34 weeks there was alot of walking in my job I had to ask for a half a day off towards the end as my tummy started getting really tight and achy. You should listen to your body if you are getting to tired then you need to rest. Look after yourself and that little bub.
Hope everyone is doing well and taking good care of yourselves

oh saph ,hun this is awsom news and i hope your bubba is a very sticky one and your stay in here is a very long one .
hope your all having a good weekend ,very lazy one here, raining again, cooking a big roast pork yummo.
take care all you pg beauties
i'll be around for dinner then smithy! lol... apple sauce??? mmmmm rrroooaasssttt
i think we should make it a thread rule NOT to talk about food. I just have this image of all these pregnant ladies diving for their fridge or cupboard like starving bi-afrans.
Potatoes, potatoes, potatoes (okay i'm just going to sit back and see what happens, maybe it's like when you say ''candyman'' three times????) lol.
okay, sorry, back on topic.. just amusing myself... as you may be able to tell DH is at work again so i've spent most of the day doing housework. now having a rest.
DH's latest "rule'' for me is I'm not allowed to clean the shower cos of the strong chemical cleaner we use! yiippeeee for me!! so i've sprayed it in preparation for his arrival home. let's see if he does a man clean or a proper clean tho before i get too excited.
that's most excellent news Saph. my fingers are crossed for you!
spoke to the OB about the weight thing... she told me to stop weighing myself. lol. she also doeesn't weigh her patients cos she said it just stresses people out and she doesn't believe is really necessary so long as you have a good diet and try to be a little active each day.
so am trying not to worry too much about it... have managed to get the eating under control and DH helped me select some 'healthy' snacks that are ALWAYS on standby. seems lots of little snacks between meals helps me. still want carbs tho, just have been making dishes with wholemeal pasta (yum) to get my fill.
oh missmagpie, i couldn't imagine moving right now. good on you! hope you get some rest tho
FG - our GM is like that. saying he'll do your job just completely devalues what you do... like its so easy he can do it 'on the side'. i just try and remember it's just a job and they are paying for my services between certain hours... i know it's hard and it's taken me years but i can now leave work issues at the work door... i'm happier and so is DH. Hang in there... not long anyway.
Hi to kaydee, jen, neptune, azz, murph, two mums, greenslw, lnb, andgood to hear from you BG! MHB - how you trundling?
