Grub, gotta love when DH offers to do some of the housework for you! I have the most wonderful mum - she's been coming over every Saturday since I was 12 weeks to do our housework. I'm a bit of a neat freak and like things done in a certain way but my mum has been awesome - especially now I can't even reach the bathtub to give it a clean if I wanted to... something to do with my ever-growing belly! Try not to worry too much about your weight gain. If your ob was that worried, she would be weighing patients.. Ours doesn't weigh you either. Sounds like you're trying hard to do the right thing with wholemeal pasta! Yum...

ive still got the flu midwife appointment on thursday and GP a week later, still waiting for my GD results! i hope if its anything bad they will ring me otherwise il wait to see my GP.

I'm away from my baby (Kim) she is away at a conference at the Gold Coast for three days. She is coming back to Brisbane for our OB appointment tomorrow but then going straight back to the coast. This is only the second time we will have been away from each other in nearly 4 years!! I'm a sook...
Check out my new avatar!! Kim has a belly now YAY!!! OB appt is tomorrow afternoon then the next day we'll be 16 weeks!! The time has flown really... Question - can you hear the baby's heartbeat clearly at 16 weeks?? Anyone else hear their baby's heartbeat at their OB appt?
Twomums (Megan): We didn't get to hear the heartbeat until our 22 week appt last week. At our 18 week appt the ob got nothing due to the anterior placenta, but he has an ultrasound machine in his rooms so he checked using that.
twomums - it depends on the doppler, if its just a microphone one may be difficult by my GP has an ultrasonic one where its like an ultrasound without the pic and beams back the heartbeat, we heard mine at 14 weeks 5 days and i have an anterior placenta plus fat over the top! so it should be fine with you guys!
AFM - i just want to get into the 30's allready im going insane! booking my 4d scan for 32 weeks today YAY!!! i cant wait to see his little face for real!

I had my scan yesterday and the babies are doing great nice heart beats and bladder size is a good size (they check that with twins) they are abit worried about the fluid in the smaller ones sac so have to go back next tuesday to double check. If its not one thing it another
Hi everyone else. Regarding heartbeat, I hired a doppler at 15 weeks (from Belly Beat) and heard my baby's heart beat just fine. Continued to use it until 19 weeks when my baby's movement was too obvious and a clear indication she is happy and healthy. I also have an anterior placenta.
AFM, today is 38 weeks and I am still around... just really want this bundle to come out as my hands and feet are killing me. I wouldn't be surprise if I retained at least 4 kg of water.

Saph204, huge congrats and welcome to the thread. It's so extremely exciting just getting past the stage of the cells doubling and forming something out of nothing. Now you are really here. I know the feeling, good luck for the wild adventure! I will add your EDD when I send this.

Greenslw, you saw the little heart beat blobby hey? It's so amazing what those cells can do. I didnt' know about any of it til I saw it happening to myself. What a clever little body hey? Now wait til you see the blood rushing through the four chambered heart, that is wild! My DH (always the zoologist) sat right up and was just in awe watching the valves flapping at our 19 week scan. I could tell he was thinking of all the animals he's dissected, but this was another thing entirely! He even raved to his mother.
TwoMums, not so sooky, my DH is ex Army and now trips away are so few and far between but I miss him more now than when it was routine. It helps keep things fresh though and it's good to be alone sometimes. Hope you are doing all your fave irritating things. Mine is making a mess (well more than usual) and sluggish eating. His is eating anything hot!! What's yours?
Oh and about the heartbeat, maybe it's too late to tell you but I had a routine GP appt at 18 weeks and could hear the heart beat and lotsa kicks! You could hear Jazzy kicking up a storm in there on the little doppler. It was very cool, I got quite an unexpected buzz. I didn't even know what a doppler was, I was excited enough reading before hand that the doc would hear the heartbeat with a stethoscope but I was sad DH didnt' go to that appt and missed the kicks.
I still haven't felt any kicking or movement. I don't even get stretching pains that I hear about. In fact, apart from the shape of me changing and discomfort for rolling over in bed, I barely notice I'm pregnant. I don't even pee lots. I lost more time off work and was sick more often with period pain than i am pregnant. I have actually just started a new job last month which involves manual handling and I'll quit the minute it gets too heavy, it's just night filling at Woollies, but so far it keeps me off the streets at night and helps with a bit of fuel money for uni travel.
Kahlan and Kaydee, I always miss you but am thinking of you as you make your way towards the finish line. Sorry I missed your big milestone at 30 weeks Kaydee. It must feel very close. MHB only two weeks behind!! Kahlan, huge congrats on staying sane in your final weeks and can't wait to hear how it all goes for you. Relax and take care of you!

Grub...ahh the joys of shower cleaning. I've got out of that job for years as I am allergic to anything and everything. If we want a harsh clean, it's DH or nothing, so it's usually just a mild clean and in this house, double joy, no glass cubicle (no cubicle), just a huge corner spa and wet room and no mould. Don't be jealous, we are just renting off a couple whose other house is a yacht in the Bahamas! I love saying that. they are salt of the earth people and built the house and yacht themselves but it sounds very ritzy when I trot out that line
Okay, I'm wandering right off track and I have to go purchase me a rooftop tent for the 4WD so we can take Jazzy on a looooooong road trip. Yayyyy!
consider yourself lucky (with the movement and kicking stuff). I wasn't aware of this but every bub is different when it comes to kicking and moving. I just thought they all do the same thing. I later discover that my little girl is more active than usual.. yeah like she is high on amniotic fluid or something. It was nice during 2nd trimester but trust me it drives me insane at present. I probably feel her over 100 times a day and it is very painful when she kicks me in my ribs or bladder...
Kahlan: I've noticed since my little girl has started kicking that she has favourite places. She seems to like kicking me below the belly button and generally to the left hand side. I generally feel her every afternoon for about an hour or so and then late in the evening, although the early morning dance parties seemed to have stopped and generally start up around 6am, which I can handle.
I just can't believe though that in the space of a week and a half I went from only thinking I could feel movement to now knowing she is moving around.
I know all you girls who still haven't felt anything can't wait for it all to start but when it does it just doesn't stop and take it from me, sometimes you will be sitting quietly just chilling out and then you get a huge kick that you don't expect and your first reaction is to make a startled noise. Very amusing for anyone around you I can tell but makes you feel like a bit of a dill.
That's interesting Kelly. I consistently felt my little on on the right side just above the the belly button since 22 weeks. My OB later told me that my bub likes to have her bottom on the left side and legs over the right. That is the reason for the kicks on the right side. I was very fortunately to have a bub that turned head down at a very early stage (apparently before 28 weeks). Now I feel her everywhere as there is not enough room however the big kicks are still usually on the right side. Sometimes I could even see her knees moving from the top centre of my belly towards the right side.. very fascinating. I think the best experience would be seeing her her feet or knee from the outside. I am still fascinated by that. I am so glad to see that you are doing very well considering what a trial you had with some of the cycles.
my boy doesnt stop either and it bloody hurts sometimes even feels like my spine is being grinded! my boy since 22 weeks has been obsessed with punching under the right rib region and found out a week later he was breech and diagonal! so head and arms under right breast and legs bottom left and it sure feels he is staying there i will findout on thursday if he has turned yet or not. im so over his movements although secretly find them comforting although i am still yet to see hands or feet poking out but i think im finally starting to look pregnant and have almost popped, very high though due to my uterus, its quite uncomfortable and hard to breathe while sitting!
Quick update: Had our OB appt and yes we heard the heartbeat 150bpm perfect! Was a quick appt, Kim got weighed, blood pressure done, then went through all her blood tests and everything is right on track, no anemia so no iron supplement required which is good because Kim complains enough about being blocked up!! All we have left to do in the next 3 weeks until her 19 week scan....is grow!!
