murph, we must have posted at the same time No tears here lovely. I'm sad she has this hurdle in front of her, but she is loved, and she WILL communicate - she might not be a chattering box but I bet she'll write as much as her mummy and be expressive and as kind as you and DH.
its only one small part, albeit a improtant one for those who have it, but she will never know and she will make up for it in so many other ways. not only that, the developments in science thesedays means she will have the world open as her oyster like all others bubs born today...
Big hugs for the times ahead lovely. We all know what a strong woman you are and what a wonderful man you have by your side.
I was soo moved by your words about your DH. what a lucky man you have, you both obviously adore each other.
glad mossman were able to make it up to you a bit for cairns' rubbish care.
Murph - sorry but i have shed a tear not for saddness but because your post was so moving. You are an amazing person and i believe jasmine is very lucky to have such a person for a mum! I can also feel the love in your family and you will all travel along this path of life with strength dignity and love. Take care and enjoy this special time.

Murph: So happy to hear from you and I too have felt quite emotional reading your post. After all the problems you have had with your pregnancy from the d/s scare to your traumatic birth I am so proud of you and Jasmine couldn't have chosen better parents. I'm sure that you will treat her like any normal little girl who is just a bit more special than all the others and it is a whole new world for you to experience as a family together.
I look forward to hearing more of your journey and am sending you lots of hugs and best wishes.
Hello again,
awww, your comments were so sweet, there were most definitely tears! I also made a friend up the road cry, an old hardened mum and grandma, she was so upset for us. I put Jasmine straight in the car and turned up at her house right as tea was on the table and said how can you be sad when we are all so happy? She loved it and was surprised at how well she is after first seeing the wee little thing in hospital.
can you please let me know if anyone is able to view a few of my pics on face book? You shouldn't have to be a face book user to view on the link we used, so smithy you should be good to view (I hope so, you'll love her).
I've been meaning to do this for ages but have finally pinned DH down to do it for me. Hope you can see my photos. It takes ages to upload them onto face book and as you can see I barely use face book so I'll post more later if you are interested. xoxo
awwww murph i could see the pics and oh my goodness jazzy is just so beautiful im melting here rite now .
you have done so well my friend and thank you for letting us have a look at your beautyyou were rite I LOVE HER LOL.
Murph: Oh you gorgeous thing! You are so strong it's an inspiration! Jazzy will be just fine and is very lucky to have the two of you as her parents! By the way she is a very cute & tiny little poppet! Love the photos! I'm glad you ended up in Mossman, seems like it was the perfect place to be in the end.
Bella: WOOHOO!!! 8 more sleeps max! Man when I get to your point I'm gonna go insane LOL. Glad you stood up for yourself ansd finally got taken seriously! Wishing you a smooth and trouble-free delivery.
Grub: Yes I'm booked in for the b/f classes already but thanks for the tip. Glad to hear you got something out of it! So what's the countdown now til DH gets home?
lilmisshavachat: oh sorry to laugh but you just gave me the giggles. As if with IVF etc we don't have enough to explain to people but now you have to add your poo habits LOL. Just for good measure though, I would have hidden the sorting implements & when you came out of the bathroom, tried to shake hands with them, just to stir them up hahaha the looks on their faces would have been priceless.
Saph: Oh dear... that bored??? Well I guess on the bright side it must mean Campbell is being a good boy!
Haven't had a post from our friend Harry lately, she must be too busy making up for lost time with DH LOL
to everyone else! Hope you're all away nicely!
AFM: Not much happening here. Yesterday was DH's birthday and I deliberately arranged to have our 20wk scan then as a little "present" for him. Well it worked a treat! "Best birthday ever!" he said last night! Cookie is all good, albeit stubborn. The little bugger has refused at every scan to let us see his/her face, curls up in a little ball with back to us every time we try. But the rest of the time was having a ball in there... swinging off the umbilical cord!!! The sonographer was almost falling off her chair laughing, said she'd never seen that before. We're now measuring 2 days larger than original EDD (although we're not changing dates), which is fantastic considering that at our 7 week scan we were almost a week behind.
So all that being said... 20 WEEKS TODAY!!!! (except my stupid ticker still keeps mucking up!)
I am so happy, I honestly never thought we'd make it this far, and I know it's all a downhill run from here. Everyone's telling me the last 20 weeks will fly! I hope so. Can't wait til my baby shower, I've had 3 different people asking if they can throw one for me, so I've just told them to put their heads together and go for it! Awww way to feel loved! I went into Toys R Us/Babies R Us the other day and started a registry for everything I have left to get. Got a nice little goodie bag too, and we sat at the table that night and went gaga over the teeny newborn-sized bottles. It's soooo great seeing DH so genuinely happy & excited it just makes me melt every day. He's not a man that gets excited over anything so it makes it extra special. Every time he talks about Cookie his chest puffs up with pride! So cute!
Murph- Jasmine is absolutely gorgeous! Your time in Mossman sounds lovely. Just the sort of thing you need after clinical hospitals. I hear you about the boobs. After IVF and years of gynae investigations every Tom, **** and Harry has seen 'down below' but the boobs have been my last bastion of modesty!!! I am inspired also by you with your attitude about Jasmine's hearing. Everything is going to be just fine...Big hugs!
Boc - Great news about the scan...so did you see any telltale gender signs accidentally? I know you don't want to know but did you accidentally sneak a peek? LOL! You sound like you have some great friends around you too organising you a baby shower. Enjoy!!!
Bella - wow only eight days!!! Good luck!
Grub - Oh dear! Glad everything is Ok with bubs but hope you were not hurt too much in the fall. Sometimes the shock of falling is bad enough! We just are not prepared for it as adults!
Everyone else Belly rubs!!!!
AFM - Scan in two days!! Hopefully we get the nice sonographer again as she will let us take our time looking. The last one only looked for his face because I asked her to as she had finished the scan in two seconds flat. I see the midwife tomorrow so will ask her about this pubic bone pain. Kills to turn over in bed and get up or do anything really that involves lifting my knees. It is not actually at the front of the pubic area but (TMI sorry!!!) underneath each side of my vulva IYKWIM.
Busy couple of weeks ahead...We go up to Manchester to visit DH's parents. I am hoping there might be a big box of nappies waiting for us there! Or the money to order them off the net! It is the only thing we have asked for so I don't feel too bad.
Then my friend from London is bringing her new boyfriend to meet us. We have had to put the moses basket in the guest room temporarily so we have to remember to take it out before they come. She is hoping to settle down and have babies soon and I am not sure how far their negotiations have got in that way so I don't want to look like we are dropping big hints to the new boyfriend!!! No pressure at all!!!
Then my Dad is coming (ALONE!!!!) and then my brother. Then I think it might almost be time for me to have a baby! I still haven't washed all his little clothes. I said I would do it week 30 but that has passed! I have however almost finished crocheting him a blanket and I have begun a cloth mobile for his hammock. I also crocheted him a jumper and hat and sewed and crocheted a bunny blanket. So I haven't totally been slack in the preparation area!
Well smithy that sounds like a great idea. I am trying to get DH to take Campbell somewhere on Sun but not to have a rest so I can write my reports they are due in just over a week so really should get a wriggle on.
Just booked gold class tickets for new twilight movies so very excited a night out for the grown ups. Yeah.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. Belly rubs to everyone.
Hello all. Well, I'm back from a very wet but very nice week in NZ. I've been having a wierd pregnancy week - and need some reassurance to put my mind at rest. Out of the blue, I did a great big sneeze, and I was racked with pain, all across my stomach. But surely sneezing cannot do you any damage? My boob pain comes and goes - is that normal? I worry that the pregnancy might fade like the last one.
I'm very nervous about the scan on Tuesday - also it's not our lovely FS, he's away. My husband has told me that it's probably easier if tell him when I'm not worrying, as I seem to be worrying about something about 95% of the time. tell me I'm not the only worrywort?
Murph - Jasmine is sooooo beautiful - I can't believe even between your five pictures how much she's grown already! She's gorgeous. Sorry for the lack of personals, I hope you are all very well and having a good weekend.
Oh Murph, Jasmine is so very lucky to have a loving and supportive Mummy and Daddy.
Tears of love roll down my face on your sweet words for the love of your beautiful girl.
You and your DH will do whatever is needed for Jasmine and know that we are fortunate to live in this country where so many medical things can be done when needed.
Enjoy these early days as Janie said they fly so fast and soon you too will be waking up to a toddler and chasing her around.
Sending you a cyber not in sadness but in your love and strength.
BTW, your little Miss is soooo cute!!! Gosh they grow so fast
Oh Murph she is just beautiful oh and so little!!!! It was nice to see because that's about how big my big twin will be so will have to show DH the photo as he keeps asking me "how big will they be" and when we see babies at the shops he taps me and says "will they be that big" argh no honey that baby is probably a few months old he really has no idea but it's cute!
Grub - hope everything is ok after your fall - i have told you once but will tell you again - TAKE IT EASY! xxxx
