Paula - if you can't get to your GP, ask your FS to write one just to get you through your first couple of appointments. Specialist referrals only last for 3 months whereas GP referrals last for 12 months. But at least it would mean that they would see you for your first appointment and then you can sort out the GP referral in your own time.
