M2C - hoping you're ok today. more big hugs for you hunny
HM - i would think a dating scan may be a good idea - given, from what i remember, your cycle wasn't super regular pre-pg (i may be wrong - its a while now), i would get it done. you'd hate to think your EDD is one day, but actually be a week behind and have them intervene for an overdue baby well before it's necessary kwim? also, with natural conception, it can vary greatly - i had IUI but because i ovulated on my "own" kinda, our dates were all over the place. at the point you believe you're at now, EDD estimation should be fine - and it only has to be done the once... if you get it done over there, you'll know, and when you enter care in Au when you arrive, you can take your letter and know that you're getting essential scans (morphology etc) in the right window of time - you'd hate to be 4 weeks further along than you think and not be able to get accurate results at the morph scan... this is just MY opinion - i completely understand why you are reluctant - i can just see why they want to do the scan as well...
-
Hm- meant to say, I think it's really your call too. I personally would want the scan to know the dates and EDD, but that's me.
and Nicole- good news on the scan! I don't think I will be able to wait to find out what we are having! You will have a great surprise
Janie- hope that bubs turns and you can breathe a little easier again soon..i remember my girlfriend was really short of breath towards the end of her pregnancy for the same reason
TL- I am glad you feel charlotte during the day....you are right...i guess we will always worry a bit
afm- just waiting until my scan...have booked in for next wednesday...when I think I will be 7 weeks...excited and very nervous. It was around this stage last time things started to go off track. Have another BT on monday...so a few things to aim for. Still prodding my boobs ..they will end up sore at this rate! :p

Hey Brisbane and Surrounds Ladies Our Feb Breakfast Club is under planning :)

TL- too bad I am too far south :)

Ok thanks ladies.
My cycles were as regular as clockwork..28-29 day. I only had a variation on that once or twice. I knew when i ovulated to the day and we only made love once...as we were both sick that month with flu. So i know quite accurately that side of things. My cycle was pretty predicable. Their argument is the same for natural and IVF pgs and that is... that the date is determined from fertilisation and implantation and that can be longer or shorter than anticipated. However in my case I tested +ve before my Period was due and I feel pretty safe assuming that I fertilised and implanted sooner rather than later. So with that, I have decided to miss the scan. I feel pretty confident that we are pretty spot on with our dates. The midwife was just lovely and she was really understanding. But you know when a doctor doesn't kind of believe you even though you feel you just know.
Thanks so much guys for your advice, it was wonderful and supportive...all of it.
Am I strange and is ti too early to feel anything. In the last couple of days I have felt a move in pressure while my knees are up close to my chest..or if i have my hands on my lower belly. It kind of feels like a very faint and soft wave of pressure. I know it is early and just like the nightmare of TTC symptoms...I am waiting so patiently and really focused on feeling our baby move for the first time. I guess it will be one of those things where you don't know until it is stronger and you look back and think..oh yeah that started back then.
Anyway i have to go to bed. Thanks Girls.
Xoxo

HM - hun - if you're strange for feeling early movement - i must be a real freak! distinct movement at 9.5 weeks - and i KNOW it was movement cos up until about 2 weeks ago, ALL my movement was in the same spot!
if you have regular cycles, i'd say don't worry about the scan - maybe just book your morph scan for right in the middle of the 18-22week window to be safe - gives you a margin of error both ways just in case....

hiya :hello: I've been MIA for a little while. I need to catch up on everyone's news.
I just wanted to say a quick hi and congrats to Jen and 21 for joining this thread
M2C - I'm so sorry for you. I was devastated to read your post.
AFM, all's ok. looking forward to my scan on Monday (I should be just over 7 weeks). I've been feeling suitably queasy, very sore bb's and eating like a horse - so guessing everything's on track :D

HM, I felt my first movements between 13-14 weeks so it very well could be! I was always a bit unsure as you said but knew as as the weeks went by that's what it was. As for your scan, I think that if you are happy with your dates as they are, there is no other medical need and you don't want it done it's an easy decision. Like you, mine was a natural conception on a 29ish day cycle. I know exactly when I ovulated and have based my due date on that. My Dr is happy with that and although my scans both showed me measuring 3 days ahead, we have not officially changed my dates. So, like you I think implantation must have happened early. A few days don't really make a difference, so I would say your dates are pretty spot on eliminating a need for a dating scan.
Janie, I hope you can breath freely again soon!! I get that breathlessness sometimes too and was wondering if it was bubs position. It happens a lot when I bend over or go to stand up from sitting. I have been getting a bit of movement above my belly button and then they go back to being hard in the cervix, so I can't figure out what he's doing in there!

Hi everyone
M2C: i was just so sad and sorry to read your post this morning, giant cyber hugs and i hope and pray you have DD back in your arms really soon! Look after yourself and know we are all here for you :grouphug:
HM: Bit of a hard one, i really wanted my scans after my ectopic for reassurance and i think its so wonderful that you have such inner strength! I really dont think medically there is any reason for you to have it, in saying that it could save some DR bullying down the track, if you go over dates, i know you know exactly when and where things happened, but i wouldnt trust them to take your word for it! hope that makes sense!
TL: Are babies are so similar  DD is v. quiet every morning and it use to worry me alot, but lately ive been thinking hopefully that means she will lie in in the morning  Even now her sleep patterns are very regular and every morning she is very quiet.
Hi to all the lovely ladies and belly rubs to you all!!!
I felt movement at about 12-14 weeks like someone was blowing bubbles in my abdomen.
Well i have 5 sleeps :o I think im still in major denial ! Poor Dh will have lots to do when im in hospital. Oh well its going to happen regardless. I have moments of looking forward to finally having her in my arms and i know it will be all good once i have, i think i just had it in my head that this day would never come!
well talk to you all soon!! Have a great weekend.

Hi all my lovely, amazing, supportive friends,
I"M BACK!!!
We are 15 weeks today! I have been doing well. Both babies are amazing as always and just way too cute for words. I am a massive monster with hair all over my belly (very attractive!!)

I have just felt very overwhelmed after my 3rd bleed and our nuchal scan. Scan went well, but the DR there scared the hell out of me regarding the bleeding.
Am so glad to see everyine is doing well and the biggest of welcomes to everyone who just got their BFP's.
AND if I'm right, I think there are 4 of us now having twins! How exciting!!
I promise to catch up with you all soon. I just want to thank you all for the shout outs. I appreciate your concern. And a big thankyou to my friend Emma, who has been an amazing support to me.
Hugs to all of you

BEL!!! WELCOME BACK!!! i didnt need ivf afterall! was on the verge or starting too had urologist and FS appointments and money saved! im so glad to be in here with you!
Mum2c- Hi there i had what u had in May i was almost 13 weeks went for my first scan and there was an empty sac measuring at 8 weeks, i had an emergency D and C and i had NO cramping and only one drop of blood the day before so my body wouldnt expell it and was close to infection. I had bleeding for about 10 days but bad pain the next day but then on was fine, just like a bad period but a bit longer. its awful thinking you are pregnant only tofind out there was never an actual baby the cells did divide and implant but about after week 5 or so it dissolves as it was poor sperm or egg, i wish u all the best and good luck if u TTC again, it took us amazingly only 9 months after D an C on top of the 14 it took the first time, its so very hard to deal with, it wont effect ability to concieve as its a one off occurance and the next time round your chances of a loss or a blighted ovum are less than 10% so even better chances than a first time pregnancy. a nurse told me she believes its the body's way of having a practice pregnancy, which i truly believe and found comfort in.
everyone else! i hope all is well and i cant wait to see if i actually have a baby this time! i get so nervous when i think of having an ultrasound as i expect to see nothing again!
