Welcome waiting. :) I'm only new in here too and due just after you..somewhere around 16th April. I am completely with you on the worry. I can't stop worrying, or thinking something is wrong. It was a good day today for staying home that's for sure... hope you are feeling better and your scan shows some good growth next week.
Shannon, that's good news your little girl has had some steady growth. Wow, I can't believe you are so far along already. I remember your pg announcement like it was last week. Hopefully they'll both stay snug in there for another few months though! :)
Devon, I hope those 19 sleeps go fast for you! This is all just a big waiting game isn't it? It's taken so long to get here, and then it's all just counting down to each appointment/trimester/scan etc.. It's never ending!
Janie, glad to hear you're feeling like crap! ;) It's reassuring more than anything that your body is using up energy doing more important things. lol at your bbs growing overnight. I thought that about mine this morning.
JBM, good luck for transfer on Monday :)
AFM - my BT results came back from my GP and my HCG was 2510 at 5w. He seemed happy with that. My nausea has calmed down but I am just exhausted. I felt like I was going to nod off at my desk most days this week, and I've never yawned so much in my life. My scan measured me at just on 5w last friday and my GP wont send me for another one. I have made an appt with my GP/OB who I will be seeing at 10w, but nothing until then. I desperately want to see a heartbeat. I dont know how I can manage to wait another 6 weeks for a scan. Lots of niggling cramping going on down there too. I'm guessing thats normal??
I hope everyone else is well.... still trying to get to know everyone in here :)
-
Just want to let people know I'm ok and still hanging around.
I've had the week from hell with a particularly nasty incident arising at work on Monday (one that could have ended my teaching career), a scare about the health of my baby on Tuesday and it's just been one big, horrible emotional mess since then.
Today I got the all clear from work, and another all clear from the OB - the baby is ok, there may be some problems later on, but we have warning and we will be monitored now.
The only problem that remains still is that even after weeks and weeks of iron supplements, my iron levels are still scarily low. The OB now has me taking triple the normal dose of my iron supplement and has added B12, magnesium and calcium into the mix... Severe anemia remains, so the ridiculous tiredness isn't from stress, doing too much or lack of sleep - my body just won't absorb enough iron for both me and the baby and it seems that bubs has priority at the moment!
I need to sleep now... hoping to catch up properly some time very soon.
BW
-
BW - I am anemic b4 preg so my ap suggested Brewers yeast and so far it has helped heaps it is good for the nervous system and full of B vits that support the iron may be worth a shot  sorry to hear about your week gald you got the all clear on both issues
Megan - the waiting is a killer I know sweetie and :wlecome: if I have not said it b4 I hope you and bubs are doing well and you enjoy this pg
Janie Congrats on the bump :cheer:
AFM: I had an interview for a job I was being headhunted for yesterday and decided to take and then at 4.30 my current work calls to make me redundant talk about luck
-
Thanks, TL. I may have to look into the brewers yeast, where would I find it? I can't believe that after 10 weeks on iron supplements (half of that time on double iron) that my levels haven't changed at all! Talk about providence on the job front!
I won't clog things up here with the details of my week, but I have put an update in my blog... I do want to stress that I'm pretty ok with things now, but it's been a crazy week and I hope you can all forgive me for disappearing into my little hole for a bit.

BW - i was just thinking that I hadn't seen you around BB for a while! Sorry youve been having a tough time, but glad to see youre still here!
*sneaks out*

Hi girls
woah i go missing for a few days and it all happens in here.
BW: so sorry your not getting on top of the iron thing, it is horrible and very debilitating, i use to have iron injections but they really werent that helpful and left horrid bruises for years after. I got put on a natural form as well, by a homoeopath, after i had a very bad dose of glandular fever and it did the trick as i ve never been low since, cant remeber the name but it was a very foul tasting liquid, you can still get it at the health shop it has a "flowery" type label and called something "vit" sorry i cant help more than that but it was really good ( although dont know about in pregnancy" Hope your feelin better soon
TL: thats kinda spooky about work, its funny how things fall into place. bet it was great seeing your little bubs again it such a great reassurence. good luck with the interview.
Megan: glad your going well, the tiredness in those first few monthes is so bad and what makes it worse is when you cant explain to people why you are feeling the way you do. But they are all very positive signs.
janie: hi glad to hear everything is coming along nicely and woohoo the little bump, (so cute"
Devon: hi ya, thanks for that yes hanging up may have been a good option. My scan is next friday so 1 week to go it was funny cause the lady on the phone said we would rather do it sooner rather than later in case there is something wrong and you need to terminate the cut off in WA is 20 weeks :wtf: DH and i had a good laugh at that one. Im sure youll be feeling the movements real soon too! it can take awhile to recognise them.
Shannon: so glad your twins are hangin in there and doin well, it must be amazing having 2 going for it in there, i know how it felt with one so can just imagine and they love starting at night when your ready to go to sleep, just preparing you for the sleepless nights
Numa: hi hope your keepin well!
QueenH: hi hope alls well with you !
So sorry if i missed anyone (i know i always do)
Well big :bellyrubs::bellygrowing: catch you soon!
-
Hope things are better this week BW  - it sounds like a really rough time. Hoping bubs is all good and happy and your pesky students start behaving better.
Scooby and Devon my belly buddies - you must be counting down to the next scan? Mine is on the 5th September.
Everyone else - hope you all had a great weekend and your bellies are growing well! :bellyrubs:
P.S. Devon I lay on the couch instead of baking the cake, was just too tired!
-
HI everyone :D
Well I don't know whether to laugh or cry with happiness. I had my 7wk scan yesterday and we have 2 babies on board both measuring 14mm which is one day ahead of schedlue and there are 2 strong HB. They also found the source of the bleed which apparently is not uncommon with twins, so that is a relief. The bleeding has since stopped and there is just a bit of old bruising which is healing. DH is over the moon and we both couldn't get to sleep last night thinking about the outcome.
Shannon: at what stage did you start showing? I think I am and I am struggling to fit into my jeans. BTW I hope all is travelling well with your babies.
Catch up with everyone else soon, hope you are all well.
Queenh
-
QueenH - congratulations! :happyforyou: What fantastic news! My younger sisters are twins - and as much as I hated them growing up - they were so much fun!
BW - I hope all is better now. You poor thing - what a week you had.
Scooby - I can't believe that someone would say that! I bet you can't wait for you scan on Friday.
TL - what luck you have! That timing was just perfect. What day is your appointment? Bet you can't wait for another scan - I'm starting to get withdrawal symptoms now!
Hi Numa, MissC, Megan, Devon, Shannon and anyone else I have missed.
AFM - I am now 9 weeks 1 day pregnant! The excitement is really starting to set in now. Just under 3 weeks until we will be able to tell work and our friends. I think my work must think that there is something going on as I have been consistently late for work the past couple of weeks. My MS is worst first thing in the morning and last thing at night, so it is very hard to get motivated to get to work in the morning. It will be such a relief to be able to let them know that I'm not just being slack! Apart from that, as mentioned above I am getting withdrawal symptoms from not having another scan for 3 weeks. Have my NT BT on Monday next week, then NT scan two weeks after that. Can't wait! Wish I could go to sleep and wake up on the morning of 15/09/08 - actually that would be really great because then hopefully I would have slept through most of my MS!

Hi Ladies
Oh wow lots going on here :)
Queen- Congrats on your twinnies! I suppose probably around 8 - 10 weeks i had to buy looser fitting pants but everyone actually said i was quite small for twins until about 18 weeks and then the rapid growth hit BIG TIME and now i feel huge at 26 weeks. Did the twins have their own sacs or are they looking like identicals?
Janie - Hang in there with the morning sickness, i sure they dont think you are slack :) I really hope time flies for you and you can shout from the rooftops that you are pregnant!
Numa - I say well done on even thinking about baking a cake! The lounge sounds like a much more relaxing option.
Scooby - hope the scan went well on Friday and bub is going great!
BW - Hope your feeling better  and that this is turning out to be a much better week!
TL - Congrats on the new job, sounds like things worked out perfectly! How did you go at the Ob today?
Devon - Good luck with the big 20 week scan. Are you finding out gender? How long to go now?
Megan - They sound like great levels for 5 weeks! And yep i know i had heaps of cramping etc like AF was about to arrive until about 8 weeks i think. Just mother nature having her fun with us i guess. Hope the morning sickness is treating you well and your not having too hard of a time.
Miss C - What happening with you and CB? Have you guys moved? how is the new job? Hope everything is going great!
How about you Numa? Hope everything is going well!
Ok i hope i didn't miss anyone and HUGE :bellyrubs: to everyone!
AFM - Feeling huge and sore and tired :) Had a slight scare on Friday thought i had gone into labour, so after 4 hours of pains not easing up we went up to the hospital to discover i have sprained by stomach which was causing contractions. Ahh the joys apparently it is common in multiple births with the belly having to grow twice as quickly (sorry Queen  ) but other than that all is good. I am off to Sydney for a conference tonight so will check in when i get back on the weekend! Have a lovely week!
Shan
-
BW - You can get Brewers Yeast at the health food shop hope it helps
Scooby :hello:
Queen H :cheer: 2 bubs with heart beats
Shan: All went well see below :)
Janie sounds like appart for MS all is well
We had our first Ob vist and heard the heartbeat how amazing :cheer: Bubs is growing well and is at 8 weeks 2 days so measuring right on size.
He showed me the bleed and said I may keep spotting for a few more weeks but only 5% chance on Misscarrige now which is great news.
Off for a scan at 10 weeks to make sure bubba is still ok but I am sure it will hopefully I can relax a bit more now
-
Hi everyone
Sorry I haven't been in for a while. Have been feeling anxious again. Worrying about everything. Called midwife yesterday because I thought I'd had some Braxton-hicks contractions - on two occasions my belly has gone all hard and tight ? happened on Saturday night and a couple of days before that too. She said too early for BH, but didn't think it sounded like them. I called in this afternoon and she listened for the heartbeat for me, she found it really quickly and said it sounded great. So I'm quite relieved. I'm hoping the tightness is just because I'd eaten big dinners and my belly is having a hard time coping with all the extra bits and pieces that it has to fit in. So relieved to have heard the heartbeat again. Now just two weeks till my next scan. Will definitely be finding out the sex, but OB said 90% certain it's a boy at my 15 week scan, so am expecting that to be confirmed. Just as long as baby is healthy :crossfingers:
Shannon - sorry to hear about your scare, that must have been awful. Your poor belly being forced to accommodate those growing bubs! So glad to hear that all is OK. Hope you have a good time in Sydney.
Janie - yay! 9 weeks! Your 12 week scan will be here very soon!
QueenH - Congratulations on your twins! That's wonderful news! And fantastic that you got to see two strong heartbeats. You must be so excited! Really glad to hear that the bleeding has stopped.
Scooby - Good luck for your scan on Friday ? that's very exciting! Can't wait to hear how it goes.
TL - Yay on hearing the heartbeat! I love hearing it, so reassuring. Great to hear that bubs is measuring right on too. Hopefully you feel more relaxed from now on. Not too long till 10 weeks is here.
BW - I hope this week is looking a bit better than last week! How are you feeling?
Megan - that's really hard to have to wait until 10 weeks for your next scan. I'm surprised that your GP won't let you have another one to check the HB. You could always see another GP and say you're not sure how far along you are and you want a dating scan? Yeah, the cramping is totally normal, I had it for quite a few weeks after my BFP from memory.
Numa - Hey belly buddy :hello: how are you doing?
miss_c - how are you doing hun? Haven't heard from you for a while. I hope everything is OK.
Waiting1 - how are you going? Hope the early weeks are passing quickly for you.

Hello everyone I am new
Hi Guys
I am new so hoping you won't mind if I join in on this thread.
I have just completed my first IVF cycle, and have had a positive pregnancy test.:p Am officially 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant today. Although excited I feel so nervous about getting through first trimester - I don't feel pregnant at all and tend to be pessimistic so presuming the worst. My first scan is two weeks today - seems like such a long time to wait!:( I think I am driving myself crazy - every little tingle, pain, etc I automatically think I am going to miscarry!
One possible sign I have of pregnancy is the ability to burst into tears at any moment. This morning I started crying when the played...wait for it.... the Rainbow connection by Kermit the Frog! on radio - now that cannot be normal can it. My partner didn't know what to think. tee hee
Anyway wishing you all the very best on your journeys.
Cheers

Hi there Tiggerlinda- thanks for the reply. Nice to be on a forum like this where can chat to others - not telling any family/friends yet so nice to vent somewhere anonymously

Welcome Babymiracles! And congratulations on your pregnancy! Those early weeks are so hard. Hopefully your 7 week scan will be here before you know it.
Sending you :stickyvibesgirl: :stickyvibesboy:

Welcome, babymiracles.
Just want to let people know that I'm still here and still reading but I really don't have the head space to reply properly at the moment. Things just don't seem to be getting better here... I'm sick of red meat, I'm sick of taking so many tablets for apparently little to no effect! I took yesterday off work sick and I'm feeling a little better... but still far from bouncing and overflowing with energy. Work is being wonderful and looking for ways to reduce my load (and a lovely colleague has cooked us some meals that are in the freezer here at work waiting for me to take home) until we get to next term when things get a whole lot easier. Until then, it's strategic use of sick days and relying on the wonderful people I work with and my wonderful DH to get me through. Only 4 and a half more weeks...
For now, thinking of everyone, just finding it hard to find coherent words...
BW

Hi Devon - great to meet you and thanks for the congrats:hug:
Hi BW - thanks for the welcome. Sorry to hear you are feeling so rotten. Hang in there and take care.
Best wishes everyone

No worries BM that is what we are all here for sweetie try and realx if you can :)
-
BW - I'm sorry to hear that things are still tough for you right now. That little parasite is clearly sapping everything that you have to give, leaving nothing for mummy. I really hope you can get some relief with this iron situation soon. Have you tried Spatone? Liquid iron supplement, supposed to be more readily absorbed than tablets. Recommended to me by my midwives. I'm sure you've explored all the options now though. I hope you feel better soon, nice to hear you've got some lovely people looking out for you at work.
Geez, I am so, so very tired today. And totally over work - I really just don't care anymore. I feel like I just need to sit somewhere quiet and get my head around this pregnancy thing. It's such a fascinating, weird and utterly overwhelming experience!
I hope everyone's doing well today, :bellyrubs: all 'round!

Wow it sure is lovely to see so many new faces in here. I wish all the new ladies a wonderful pregnancy and can't wait to see you all graduate into the parenting after LTTTC thread.
BW I hope you start to feel better soon hun.I also couldn't stand eating meat when pregnant with Sage. I can eat it now though thank goodness.
I hope everyone is ok and big :bellyrubs: to you all

Hi All
BW hope you are feeling a bit better
Devon - I understand the tiredness - even before getting pregnant I seem to need so much more sleep than the average person - hate to think what I will be like as the pregnancy progresses - might not ever make it out of bed!
I am doing okay although been feeling pretty down. Just still cannot believe I am pregnant and no symptoms what so ever. Had nightmares last couple of nights about things going wrong. Cannot wait till the 7 week scan to see if things are okay - time is dragging.....
Wishing everyone a peaceful day
-
Hi Babymiracles
I hope you are feeling better today. I just had to respond to your post - I so know how you feel - in fact I wrote a blog post at 5 weeks and 4 days worrying about why I didn't have any real symptoms! For me the nausea didn't really kick in until about 7 weeks, and my boobs have only slowly grown in size. Its such a hard time these early weeks, wishing you all the best . You and bubba hang in there, the odds are that everything is fine :)
-
Hi Numa
Thank you so much for reply and for your thoughts. It is very comforting to hear to someone else felt same way (re no symptoms and not feeling pregnant early on). Feeling a little brighter today. Thanks again and wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Hi everyone
it is so great to see it all happening in here. Welcome Baby miracles hope the next few weeks fly by for you, it definately is a harder process when youve had AC i still have worrying days.
Sorry for the lack of personals just so busy at the mo (unfortunately)
Had my scan last thursday which was so nerve racking but wonderful and its a .......
:babygirl: little girl :stork-girl: which i knew it would be even before i fell pregnant so quite bizarre really !!! Everything else is lookin good placenta is still low but not covering my cervix which is good. MS has come back with a vengence as well as the extreme tirdness, but i must admit im starting to actually feel like its really happening and "slightly" less worried which is great. Hope everyone is well and again sorry no personals but i will catch up soon. Hugs to all!
-
Great news Scooby, congratulations on your scan an lil' girl :). We are nearly half way now! My scan is this Friday, but we have decided to wait to find out - even tho I'm reeally curious and can't seem to get a real strong feeling either way. First I thought boy, then I was convinced girl for quite some time, now am leaning more towards boy again (I dreamt I ended up with boy triplets, and was puzzled as they hadn't all shown up on the scan!). I secretly would love a girl at some stage, but will also dearly love a boy - just hopefully either or! I had a good laugh at a line from Kaz Cook 'Up the Dufff' where she says people ask "are you having a boy or a girl?" and she replies "yes, I believe so".
Also a belated congratulations to queenh on your gorgeous twins! So glad everything is going well for you.
How is everyone else going? Must be busy, or tired, or both....
-
Hi girls
Scooby - congratulations on your little girl! Very glad to hear that your scan went well, but sorry that the morning sickness has come back. Glad that you're feeling less worried about things.
Numa - good luck for your scan on Friday, hope you get a good look at bub, although not too close a look if you don't want to find out!!
It is really quiet in here, isn't it? I'm just waiting for my scan. Still got 7 sleeps to go, I think I must be having a late one, it's next Tuesday morning and I'll be 20 weeks and 1 day. Feeling quite anxious about it and worried there will be something wrong with bubs. All will probably be OK though :crossfingers: Just counting down the days...
:bellyrubs: to everyone.

Devon - 7 sleeps and counting :) for you and me both I have a 10 week scan next Tues too so will be thinking of you
Me: 10 week scan Next Tues spotting has eased off quite a bit so hopefully that will be it for scares for us  Things going well starting to belive it all now

I know that I don't belong in this thread as yet, but I really just wanted to say that each and every one of you inspire me that although our journeys may take time you are all the proof in the pudding that in time it works.
Sorry for my waffle but seeing these posts keep me going on those bad days and I just wanted to say thanks and good luck with your pregnancies and am sure you will all make terrific mothers

Hello Ladies
Thanks for dropping in Nicole, we all know how it feels and hard it is. I used to do the same thing and found reading people success stories helped keep the dream alive. Good luck hun and i can't wait to have you join us
Scooby - Congrats on your little girl
Numa - Good luck for Friday! Cant wait to hear about your beautiful baby :)
Linda - 10 weeks is fantastic, enjoy the scan on Tuesday and cant wait to see how bubs is going.
Devon - Good luck next week too :) I will be eagerly awaiting all the news from these scans, what an exciting time in here at the moment.
Babymiracles - Hope you are doing okay and are getting that much needed sleep and that the nightmares have eased off. It does get better
Huge :bellyrubs: to Queen, BW, Miss C, Megan, Waiting1 & Janie Hope you are all going well.
AFM - growing rapidly and definately feeling pregnant. I have the waddle down pat and i fear the end of being able to shave my own legs is near :p babies are being very active and its facinating now they respond to things. I was at a work conference interstate last week and every time the room started clapping the babies would kick for a good 5 minutes. I have the GD Test on Friday also skipping straight to the long version - how did you find it BW?
Have a great week ladies :)

Urgh! The GTT was horrid! Definitely make sure you have someone to drive you home. Make sure they have food with them when they pick you up! I had one before I was pregnant and was pretty ok, just dizzy at the end. For the one I had a few weeks back, I ended up spending the majority of the time lying on a bed in one of the collection rooms with a sick bag beside me. I got extremely dizzy extremely fast and felt really bad for ages. DH met me with an apple danish, and then made me eat something protein-filled afterwards and I recovered fairly quickly. However, I did need him to help me to the car afterwards because the whole walking in a straight line thing was completely beyond me. Driving would have been downright foolish!
But... all this, and my results were fine!
At work for now, so can't say much more. The baby is active and happy, and is fortunately much quieter than on the weekend where he drove me stark raving mad and kept me awake all Saturday night! All is good apart from the anemia on my side of things.
Back to yelling at unmotivated year 11 students, will try to remember to get back later tonight, but I have acupuncture so it will be pretty late before I get home.
BW
-
Shan - Lovely to hear about the active twins will try not to clap too much around you for the next few weeks
BW - Thanks for the info on the GTT I was thinking about that earlier this week at least now I have an idea.
Me not much have caught on my tax moving into new clothes and bras as things are starting not to fit kind of exciting too
 :bellyrubs: to all have a great day/night

Hi All
sorry been gone for a while. I have been soooo exhausted. The other night went to bed at 7pm and then woke up at 9.20am. Devon I am with you. I just find it so hard to drag myself to work each day - seriously. I am ready for maternity leave at 8 weeks.... hmmmmm
Have first ob appointment tomorrow. Feeling anxious again even though had 7 week scan monday before last and all was fine.
Seriously, is 12 weeks like the longest thing you have ever had to wait for. What is with that? when y ou are on holidays time flies but when you finally get pregnant one week is like a year.
My main symptom is tiredness. Some waves of nausea usually about 10 mins or so and not all the time. Sore boobs on and off but just tired. I can't bear to prepare food or clean or do anything. the only thing I am doing is walking from the city home each night (about 40 mins) or 50 when I am slow coach.
It is good it is so quiet here and all of you seem to be doing well. I have a look at another forum as well and there is a due in group so lots of ladies due at the same time - and about 5 dropped off in the past week. That scared the crap out of me.
I seem to get anxious before each scan ever since my 6 week one. Nice to be getting out of ivf land and into ob land though - each step is a step closer !
Anyone coming up for scans etc. I am so envious of you ladies finding out sex ! I wish that were me !!! I am so excited to meet my baby and there is about ohhhh 32 weeks left..... hmmmmmmm
Love to you all. Sorry I have been such a slacker.
Waiting (for ob appoint) x
-
TL, you'll probably find that (unless you have PCOS) you'll be able to just have the normal GCT instead of a full on GTT. It goes for an hour, doesn't involve fasting and is much less gruelling than the big test Shannon and I have to do.
I'm pretty sure that I'll have to do more GTTs through this pregnancy :( But at least I know what to expect now.
BW
-
sorry to be ignorant but what is GTT
-
GTT = Glucose tolerance test. A particularly nasty form of torture that involves a three day carb binge, followed by fasting... You then front up to the pathology centre and have blood taken and give a urine sample. This is followed by drinking the icky glucose drink... an hour later they take another blood test, followed by another an hour after that... At this point they finally release you feeling sick and dizzy to be able to eat!
Had acupuncture this evening, and have a few suggestions of things to follow up on what may be causing the anemia... Today has been way worse than normal and I'm really tired and dizzy - seriously not fun!

Hello everyone,
I received my brilliant news on Sunday 31st that I was pregnant.
Is it too soon to be booked in with an Ob and at the hospital that I want to have the baby in? My GP said to go for it, but I'm a bit nervous that I am going to Jinx it.
-
Nixon, I booked in to see my OB as soon as I could. I was really nervous as I couldn't face cancelling the appointments after my first miscarriage and had to get DH to do it. But I had a scan at just past 6 weeks with my FS, and then a little over two weeks later I was in seeing my OB having another scan. I'm much happier seeing them early!
BW
-
Thanks BW. I will be having a 7 week scan around the week of Sept 22 - 26.
I have booked an Ob, but i was also worried that I don't know him and the receptionist said he wouldn't normally see me until week 10 and I was worried that by then it would be too late to change.
