Nic my Ob saw me at 8 weeks and I will see him again at 10 make sure you feel comfortable sweet
Well done and :welcome:
I've read some really good things about him and have posted a new thread to see if I can find out more. My GP referred us to Dr. Lok at SIVF and I couldn't have been more grateful for that, so there is a history of good choices from my GP and that makes it a bit easier.
I'm also going for a tour of north shore private next week, so I'm hoping that will ease some nerves as well.
Hope you are going well TL - we won't be too far apart with our deliveries... I'm only 4 weeks and 2 days. Early days yet, but I'm keeping a positive outlook and I am going to enjoy every second of this pregnancy no matter what.
Good luck with everything.
X
Nic that is an excellent outlook we must enjoy this and be postive I say. So happy you are here
Congratulations Nixon!! :) I booked in early as well. I've done the hospital tour, booked in with my GP/OB and I see him in 2 weeks. I was really nervous about doing it all so early as well, but at the same time, I didn't want to miss out on the model of care at this particular hospital that I wanted.
I haven't been too well overnight. Woke up at about 1am with awful tummy pains like I needed to vomit. Finally got back to sleep at about 5, so I'm having a day off today to try and get some rest. I'm exhausted. I'm about to make an appt with my GP as well to see if he will send me for another scan, and see if he makes anything of the pains I've been getting. Oh, and I little bit of spotting last night which completely freaked me out but there has been nothing since.
Good luck Megan. i hope everything is ok.
Welcome Nixon.
I booked in as soon as MIVF gave me the positive. They told me too and lucky I did or I would never have got into the obstetrician I wanted. not sure if Syd is the same.
I had my 6 week scan with the fertility doctor and she said it looked a bit small so had a repeat with the Freemasons ultrasound that said everything perfect at 7 weeks and my first ob appointment was today at 8.5 weeks. They booked in St vincents private for me and did everything.
My next with her is in 6 weeks but I have my 12 week scan back at Freemasons in about 3 and half weeks.
My FS said after 7 weeks scan they don't like patients to book obs before the all clear at 7 weeks but balh to that. If I had done that I would have missed out.
Anyway ob appointment was good. All measuring perfectly great heartbeat (third time I have seen it so reassuring every time). Just have to make it to the illusive 12 week mark.
Good luck.
Hi guys - just wanted to let you know I will be leaving this post today as found out today that I am miscarrying or have already miscarried. Very rough few days - incredibly pain due to a large haemorrhaging ovarian cyst from the stimulation and then the bleeding starting. Pain is resolving thank goodness but obviously feel very sad. Hopefully will be back in this post again soon.
wishing you all the best of luck and lots of sticky vibes

Hi All,
Finally the time is ticking down to the all elusive 12 week mark! I hope this week doesn't drag... We have our NT scan booked for Monday next week. I can't wait to see how much our little one has changed since our last scan at 8 weeks. And then we will finally be able to let our little secret out of the bag. I can't wait to be able to tell everyone.
Overall I am feeling so much better. I haven't vomitted since week 9, but I still am getting nauseous, but that is so much easier to deal with. Still feeling tired all the time, hungry all the time and am waking up a couple of times a night to pee.
I finished all my supporting medication a week ago and think that has helped towards me feeling a little better. It certainly has mentally given me my sanity back... I was so sick of taking it.
Sorry it is a bit of a selfish post today... got to get back to work, but will catch up with personals in the next couple of days.
Hope you are all well.
Janie xxx
Not a selfish post Janie, is good to hear your news! Hope the week goes quickly for you :)
Janie :cheer: bring on 12 weeks  so glad the supporting meds have stopped.
Me: 10 week check up scan at 2 tommorrow before I start new job I hope all is ok
Janie - best of luck for your 12 week scan. I hope it's here before you know it. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better too.
TL - good luck for your scan tomorrow afternoon. It'll be great to see bub again I'm sure.
Got my 20 week scan tomorrow morning. Quite nervous, just want this evening to be over and tomorrow morning to get here.
:hello: to all, I hope everyone is well.

Baby miracles, I am so sorry to read your news. Thinking of you.
Janie, hope the next week flies by for you and all goes well at your scan.
TL, good luck for your scan tomorrow too :) and for the new job as well! Big day!!
Devon, I'm sure everything willk be fine. Sending lots of positive thoughts your way for your big scan tomorrow.
AFM: Not much happening. My first appt with my GP and midwives is next Wednesday. This appointment has taken forever to get here! Suffering with nausea most of the day and night, severe hunger and have been a bit light headed. This first trimester is one of the hardest things I have ever gone through. I just hope we can come out the other end of it with good news that everything's ok...but that's still another month away. :(
Good luck with the scans today Devon & Linda :) Cant wait to hear how those babies are going!
Glad to hear things are going well Megan & Janie, i agree the first trimester is definately hard! They should bring in first trimester maternity leave.. that would be heaven!
AFM: I have my grumpy sulky pants on, got the results of Fridays tests and *ding* *ding* *ding* a big FAT positive for gestational diabetes. Went and bought all the crappy needles and monitors yesterday and started testing this morning, very unsuccessfully had to do the thing 3 times before i got it right. See the ob on Monday to decide if i need insulin injections as well but at this point she thinks yes. So i know its stupid after going through repeated IVf cycles but im still annoyed and hate being back in the world of injections again. And this time i can't eat chocolate to make myself feel better
Will try to have my happy pants on next time.....
Shan
Shannon thanks for the good luck and  re GTT and needles you know you love them :P
Devon: :goodluck2: with your scan today  all goes well for you
Megan I agree this first trimester is one of the toughest things I have faced there are times I wish I could wake up and my baby is here
Bring on 2pm and scan
Just wanted to send a big thankyou to everyone for such kind words, thoughts and support. Hoping to be back here very soon.:grouphug:
Wishing you all the best on your ongoing journeys.:grouphug:
love babymiracles
babymiracles...so sorry for your news. look after yourself during this time
Janie...yay..nearly 12 weeks for you! good luck for the scan...how exciting...
to everyone else in here, hope things are going well with whatever stage you are at...I am still over in the LTTC thread (for now)... hoping I can join you all here soon.
Sending you lots of :pink-babydust: and :stickyvibesgirl: Possums - hoping that you will be over in this thread in no time.
Babymiracles  hope to see you back here very soon.
TL and Devon - GL with the scan's today. TL I wish I had a scan at 10 weeks - it seems like such a long wait from 8 weeks to 12 weeks.
Shannon - you poor thing. My DH is a Type 1 diabetic and is dependant on insulin, so I understand what you are going through. GL with it and I hope that you don't need the insulin, but if you do just remember it is only for the short term.
Megan - GL with your first appointment. I know what you mean about it seeming to take forever.
To everyone else :bellyrubs: Hope you are all well.
AFM - 6 sleeps to go!

Hi everyone
Its all happening in here at the mo!! very exciting.
Devon: Cant wait to hear how your scan went today i will be keeping an eye out!!!
TL: Good luck witht he scan today so exciting to see the little blob look so human at 10 weeks, also good luck with the new job.
Shannon: i think the sulky pants are definately allowed under those circumstances, big thumbs down to more needles!!!! Maybe you can get some of that delicious (NOT!) diabetic chocolate in the meantime. Big  hope your feelin better and you get some good news on mon re the insulin!!
Megan: hang in there i was always told that being sick was a really good sign of a strong pregnacy, good luck and take care.
Numa: yipppeeeeee 20 weeks were half way there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Janie: glad your feelin better and how great its only 1 week til the big 12 well done, i think that first 12 weeks is just the longest espicially because we find out so early.
Queen and waiting: how are you going??
AFM: ive been feeling great, really positive and happy and everyone is saying im glowing which is great, my gorgeous little girl, i think, just may be a kick boxer as i cant believe how active she is already espicailly early morning and bedtime. But very p**sed off went to water aerobics last night and came out and someone had smashed my car window and stole my handbag which had nothing in it ( but DH bought it for me and informed me it cost $500, never ever thought hed spend that on a hand bag) so very upset but i guess it could have been worse, ive only had my car 3 monthes so not happy:( well off to enjoy some sunshine but ill be keeping an eye out for US results:)
Scooby: Bummer about the car and handbag :( Good news on you feeling so postive and glowing :cheer:
Janie: 12 weeks will be here soon not long now as you say 6 sleeps
Well 10 weeks 2 day scan today and bub has a good heart beat and measures on size  so that is good. Tinged CM is ok and I am still on the asprin till week 12 scan which is at the end of week 12 on Friday the 26th Sept with a follow up on the Monday with the Midwife as the OB will be away
Hi girls
TL - great to hear your scan went well and all looks good with bubs! Fantastic news! Bring on the 26th of September!
Shan - oh no, really sorry to hear about the GD, that sucks. How annoying to being back on the needles again. Hopefully insulin won't required. Sending you  and some cyber-chocolate!
Scooby - really sorry to hear about your car window being smashed and your bag stolen. Must have been a nice bag! I don't suppose your insurance will cover you? Great to hear you're feeling so positive and happy though!
Well my scan went brilliantly! All looking perfectly normal, and a very cooperative baby so was over quite quickly, which was a bit of a shame. Never mind. At least baby is healthy and growing well. And 100% definitely a boy! I was soooo relieved that he's OK and looking great. DH and I are so excited about our little boy! Now we can really start narrowing down our names, buying the big nursery items etc. Yay! I really can't believe I've made it this far.
Hope everyone else is doing well, sending you all big :bellyrubs:

Devon :cheer: so happy the scan went well and you have a baby boy on the way
TL and Devon...hi- glad your scans went well. It's an exciting time for you :)
scooby- glad to hear you are glowing, but sorry for the dramas
TL and devon great to hear your scans went well. TL I remember the 9 week scan looking amazing, finally seeing a real baby shape with little limbs wiggling. And congrats on your little boy Devon!
Megan I so sympathise - the first trimester is definitely very hard at times. Usually in a few weeks you'll start to see an improvement. In the meantime be self indulgent whenever possible ;)
Shannon, what a disappointment to be back to needles and stuff! be grumpy all you like, we understand. I have to do daily clexane injections into my belly... its a drag but I guess we'll do anything to keep our bubs safe hey!
Your story sounds aweful Scooby! Not only the shock of having your car window smashed but your special present from DH getting taken. Glad you are feeling good though, and I love your new ticker :)
Devon and Scooby, did you know there are at least 3 ladies over in the belly buddies thread who are also due on 26th Jan. Amazing hey!
I forgot to say my scan results were all fine - although I'm looking forward to seeing the OB to confirm that. The doc came in at the end and had a look at the heart, then they both pronounced it all looked good. He just had an awkward bedside manner so I left hoping they meant what they said . Will get the full report from OB on Friday.
:bellyrubs: to all..
Hi girls
TL: Awesome, so glad that little bubs is doing so well, im sure youll be so happy to get off the asprin and start enjoying things!!!!
Devon: wooohooooooo:stork-boy::babyboy: that is great news and im sooooo happy everything is going so well, its just great!!!
Numa: glad your scan went well, know what you mean about the bedside manner, my sonographer was great and then the "head" lady came in and muttered something about everything looking really good, but to keep in mind sometimes things go wrong blah blah blah, had no idea what she was on about, neither did DH we just looked at each other, but everything definately was fine!! i think they need to start teaching personality skills in med school
Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts, went back and had a good look this avo for my bag but no luck :( just one of those things and i really shouldnt have left it in the car, live and learn??!!!
well glad everyones had such a positive day :cheer::cheer:
Thanks everyone for the scan congrats - very exciting!
Numa - great to hear that your scan went well too!! Excellent news! I told the woman who did my scan that I was quite anxious, so every time she took a measurement she said 'lovely' or 'very good' and then said that each thing looked normal. It was good. Didn't get to see the main Dr though, I guess he looks at everything later and then sends report to my OB. I've seen the belly buddies thread and noticed all the Australia Day EDDs - amazing!! Must have been a very fertile time back in April/May!
Scooby - What on earth was that woman thinking at your scan??? Why would you say that? Nice way to try to take some of the shine off it! Sorry you couldn't find your bag, that's really annoying. Hopefully there's some bad karma coming the way of the thief!
Eeek, gotta go walk dogs. DH calling. Have a great night everyone.

Hi everybody,
Hope you are all travelling along well.
Shannon: understandably having to do needles again would suck. I couldn't do them during IVF and DH had to. I understand it is more common with twins.
TL: Great that your scan went well and bub is growing strong.
There are many people in this thread ATM which is great to see.
AFM: I have my first ante-natal appointment on 19/09 at 11wks. They said because I am having twins then I will be seen more frequently. Then the following week I have a 12wk scan. Otherwise I have been pre-occupied with thinking about my mother who was last week diagnosed with breast cancer. I have had a teary week trying to get my head around it. She will have surgery in two weeks to remove the lump and until then will not know how bad it is. So another TWW, but this one really sucks. I am trying to remain positive, which is hard at times.
Anyway that aside, I am starting to get a belly and wonder how big I will actually get?!
Take Care pregnant peeps
Hi queenh, just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about your mum's diagnosis, what a shock for the family . Hopefully she will get through the challenges safe and sound.
