Hope your all doin well, not long to go for u Gabby & Carrie.
Wow Sal, your nearly at your morph scan already, cool.
Gonna have to set me up a bubby website soon I think.
Yeh Shell, can't wait to see pics of your first scan! Is there a chance for twins for you (it would be amazing to have yet more twins happening in this thread - there's a chance for Mel, too)?
Oh me too Sal, & can't wait to c urs too.
There surely is a chance of twins, there were 25mm, 15mm, 13mm & 11mm follies @ 7:30am & trigger @ 9pm (wed 20/7). Apparently they grow 2mm/day & 15mm is viable. 1 nurse said the eggs would stop growing after trigger, only chance to grow 1mm, but the nurse doing the AIH said they don't completely stop growing after the trigger. However yesterday when I mentioned bout multiples, they seem to think more chance of a singleton, due to the size of the lead follie. :-)
Hi girls!!!
Congrats Shell on your BFP!!! Wonderful, wonderful news.
Keen, the differences in working out dates is why 38 weeks is referred to as "full term" by some. If you divide 40weeks by 4weeks you get 10 months and we know that we are not preg that long! God forbid!
All the professionals will go on the dates from you LMP (of missed AF).
Lovely to see you all pregressing along nicely.....
Hayseed
Keen, my doc calculated my proper due date by minusing some days before transfer to take into account the FET and how old the embryos were at trasfer. My due date is actually the 2nd March (I was nearly right with the 4th!) and on all paperwork he has stated that the 26th May was the first day of my last AF (which is wrong, as it was on the 20th)
Being IVF and being a FET, it is all too confusing so I don't worry anymore. I won;t go full term anyway due to the twins so it's anybodies guess! Just another fun thing!
Hope everyone is well!
Hi Girls,
Jo, thanks very much for the email and don't worry ... darkmel is also us! I got DH to give me another account name for myself though as I got tired of people asking me why I was dark!
Keen - yes I was confused with the dating thing too. I estimated 4 April from the first day of my last menstrual period and the clinic gave me that start date too. Anyway, I'll stick to that until it's proven otherwise =) Hope you will be joining us in here VERY SOON.
Guys, I'm very excited ... I bought a crop top to wear to bed so no more sore boobies for me. I also got myself an obstetrician and booked into a hospital today so it's all happening. Still can't really believe it.
Hope you are all doing fine.
Love,
Mel
Ok, got a question ladies, especially Jo, Tam & Tiff. I read that your HCG should be around 100 on 14DPO & that the levels should almost double every 2-3 days, well here's mine, it quadrupled in 2 days, does this suggest multiples???
Tue 11DPO: HCG= 55, proj=112
Thu 13DPO: HCG=196, proj=117
Shell with my clinic I did not get BT monitoring that early. The first was 16 dpo and the HCG was 2300. At 23 dpo it was 24300. HTH
Shell, I didn't get BTs that early, either, but when I did my levels were a bit above the upper range for dates, my GP joked about twins but I'm just carrying a singleton. Don't put too much stock in your numbers, other than you know you have a healthily progressing pg!
Mel, that is exciting! When is your first OB appt?
I actually slept in my bra for about three weeks to stop the bbs waking me up during the night being sore...I tried a crop top but bbs were WAY beyond being supported by such a gentle structure!
Shell - I wouldn't read too much into it eithor, but as a general rule it doubles round about each 48hours. For intrests sake, at 16 days post transfer my HCG levels were 2259 and a week later at 22 days post transfer they had jumped to 29069.
I asked a nurse at my IVF clinic if it was twins, she told me that it might be as we transferred the two embies but not neccessary. I had high HCG levels with Jack as well.
Mel - Glad you got the email and hope you are well. Do your boobs ache ALL of the time? Mine are only aching when I wake up (which could be several times a night) I must be used to them during the day???
Hope everyone is aok
Hi everyone,
Jo - yes, my boobs are sore pretty much all of the time but it's not too bad during the day. I think the lying down, untethered at night was giving them too much freedom. They were not so sore this morning, that's for sure. I can't wait for my belly to start sticking out too then at least both halves of me will match!
Sal - First ob appointment is 30 August (by which time you will have had your long awaited morph scan!!) and I will be almost nine weeks by then. It seems so far away at this point but I'm sure time will fly!
Shell - It's going to be exciting when it comes time for your first scan. Wouldn't it be amazing if we have yet ANOTHER set of twins in here! Looks like we might have to ask Keen to start a Pregnancy with Twins After Long Term TTC thread.
Hope everyone is feeling fine and doing well. I feel like I'm walking around in a happy little pregnant bubble at the moment, immune to anything else going on. I just love hormones.
Talk to you all again soon.
Mel
Hey Guys
Mel - how many bubs did you put back? Suppose we should enjoy the playboy bb's while we have them, mine are the same - huge and sore. DH thinks it's great except he's not allowed near them! Way too sore for that carry on!
Shell - My levels were about 560 at 14DPT and continued to be at the high end of rec levels and I only have one there now - although saying that at the scan there was an empty sac where the other embie had tried to take, so this could have had some impact ont my levels. Anyway like everyone has said you can't read into it too much until you have your scan! Would be nice to keep the twin thing going though!!
Take care everyone!
Thanks Jo & Amy, I know I could be reading too much into it, as my clinic said the same thing, "not necessarily", although my GP today thinks otherwise & I've heard of a few people that had readings like that early on, but only conceived 1 (due to vanishing twin), who knows, but it's exciting to ponder. You never know, Mel could be the one with Twins.
Well saw my GP today instead of tomorrow, she calculated my due date as 38wks from conception (ovul) instead of 40wks from LMP, so apparently I'm due 14/4 & 4wks instead, although very few babies are delivered on their due dates. As for an Obs, she said that if my due date is after the 12mth wait date for obstetrics thru my private fund, that I could be covered even if I went early. I phoned GMHBA & they confirmed this, all they need is a letter from my Dr saying my due date (as being after 3/4). If twins, they're normally due after 38wks = few days short of private cover, so rang my Gyn/IVF Dr who's doing my first scan & the receptionist said no that a letter would still show 40wks, not 38wks, so I'm happy now. So I'm booked in to see him on 12/9.
My GP highly recommended a certain Obs (Jock Schumack) & said he's very experienced & has pulled live babies from very complicated situations, so makes me feel more at ease.
Sarah, can you please update my details please:
Due 14/4
Hospital: NPH
Baby's Website: http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/s/shell_l_d
Shell,
Any reason why you are going with an obs?
If you are definately going that way, please consider Jillian Spillsbury or Glen Lowe. Both lovely lovely doctors and the midwives choice for obstetricians. Jillian also has delivery rights at JHH, just in case you are not covered in time.
Just MHO!
Thanks Tiff. Well coz I will be covered by my private health fund for obstetrics a fortnight before I'm due & my health fund said provided I have my due date in writing from a Dr, it doesn't matter if I go early, they'll still cover me. My GP (Julianne Schwenke) said her referral preferences are:
1) Jock Schumack (very experienced especially with complicated births)
2) Glenn Lowe (good bedside manner)
3) Denise Nesbitt (good bedside manner, not as experienced as Schumack)
so I went with her judgement, I'd rather experience over bedside manner... :-)
I've been with this GP since she moved to Newcastle, about 12yrs ago & I find her very thorough, my hubby got the same impression of her this arvy & has transferred to her too. Hope she's right.
Well,Shell, you have to go who you feel comfortable with, I hope you like Dr Shumack :)
I guess it all comes down to preference. Glen Lowe is just lovely though and the girls at Newcastle Private love him!
Have u heard anything on Dr Schumack by chance? :-)
Shell [-(
yes, I have an opinion of him but it's not my place to say.(Professional liability, you know how it is) I'm sure you will come to your own conclusions. Many women like him but MANY more midwives don't. :D
You'll make the right choice but if I were you, I would try before you buy (IYKWIM)
Oh, ok, thanks Tiff. Well I may not be able to use a private Obs after all. I rang my healthfund @ 2pm & the lady told me yep, not a problem. But she rang back later, however I was asleep & still had the internet connected & by the time I rang back, they were closed & don't reopen til 8am Mon. The only message she left was "I spoke to you earlier & I've clarified some information so can you please phone me back". Great, no idea what she meant she didn't even indicate what she wanted what so ever, eg: did she tell me the wrong thing? Nor did they try to call my mobile #, as per my answering machine, so I'll be left wondering all weekend. Bugger !!!
Shell,
Bugger! I hate it when people do that. They don't clarify and then leave you hanging! It could mean anything. Fingers crossed it goes whichever way you want/need it to. There is nothing worse than wanting one thing and having to take another!
If you have to go public, will you go to JHH?
Definitely, but GP said to ask Dr Hedges whom's best @ JHH.
I know who he will say!! :D
There are several really good docs at JHH.
If you go to JHH, maybe I'll run into you!!!
Cool. I just want someone with a proven track record. I mainly don't like the idea of a c/s, but have a minor bulged disk & cervical stenosis (scarring/narrowing), so chance I might need one. But my Dr re-assured me today that c/s are fine & a pre-planned one is even better, just have to wait & see what my first scan reveals, hope their will still be some aptmts avail by then. :-)
When do you have your first scan?
It can't be long now!!!
7wks, but I'll be in NZ, so 7wks 6days = 31/8.
Hi Girls,
Amy - thanks for your good wishes and in answer to your question, I had two embryos transferred. For some reason I've got this idea in my head that there is just one baby and that baby is a boy. Should be good for a laugh later if I'm completely wrong! And yes, making the most of the mega boobies because mine are fairly modest normally.
Tiff and Shell - the choices we need to make for births are so overwhelming aren't they. I had been thinking about it in only an abstract way before (if not when). Shell, try not to worry too much about a c/s at this point. I'm kind of trying to leave it open in my mind about how the birth will play out. It's the end result that matters and I guess you do what you have to do. I admire people who go in there with a birth plan and an idea about what they want and I can completely understand the motivation for that. I'm sure they will encourage me to write one up too but I know that in the end, so long as I get my baby I will be happy regardless.
Bear in mind too that plenty of people have had c sections with no problems so if it comes to that I'm sure you will be in good hands.
Hope everyone else is well and happy. Talk to you all over the weekend.
Mel
ROFLMAO!! Birth plan?????
Trust me, now is not the time to be worrying about c/s sections. By the time you are in that labour room, the only thing that you are going to be wanting is your baby, however which way it happens!
Try not to be put off by other peoples experiences eithor. I have come to the conclusion that a lot of people like to outdo each other with their horror stories. It used to give me the $hits hearing about them as the last thing a new mother to be, needs is a load of scary stuff that will probably NEVER happen to them.
LOL Jo,
How right you are! As you know though, the happy endings are seen as boring and everyone LOVES a good horror story!!!
I feel the same about birth plans too, better to go with the flow and have no expectations than to have a plan that can go by the wayside and make the new mother feel like a failure because she didn't live up to expectation.
Again though, each to their own, each to their own.
Yes I know ... the birth plan doesn't work for me either. You will notice that I was being uncharacteristically diplomatic in that post (must be the hormones!).
Thanks girls, yeah I know, I need to sit back & relax, that's ages away & may never happen. But I would love to have a VBirth though. :-)
Oh & we've decided on names already, who knows, may change our minds later:
* Holly Maree (2nd name = mum's 2nd name, however registry mispelled it as Marie)
* Cameron Kenneth (2nd name = DH's deceased dad's 1st name)
Hi Girls!
Wow look how our numbers are growing!! That is just fantastic to see so many of us finally getting there!
Just quietly, I hope there is some more stirring going on in the LTTCC forum, so hopefully we'll get a whole lot more over here!!
Just a quick one at the moment to say hello, I have a couple of weeks of now so hope to catch up properly very soon!!
Saw the obstetrrician the other day, very happy with everything, says 'you're flying along!!" whatever that means - but all seems great at the moment.
Need to have my glucose tests etc in a few weeks, but till then all is quiet (except Munchy at nighttime!!)
Big hugs and congrats and belly rubs to all !
Speak soon,
Yay Gab, so glad to hear from you - can't believe you're that far along already. Why is it that everyone else's pg seems to move along fast except you're own??!
Fingers crossed for some graduates from the LTTTC thread, looks like it is on the cards!!
Hey Gab, wow look at you. Can't believe that you are already that far along!!!
Isn't it funny how most of us are paired up (being due within 2wks of each other), thats cool.
BTW, just spoke to the health fund, after she left me hangin over w/end & she said she clarified it that if I have a letter from my Dr/Spec saying my due date is >= 3Apr (40wks=14/4, 38wks=31/3), then I'm covered, regardless of going early. Only thing she wasn't sure bout was if they were twins, however told her that I clarified with my Gyn office (receptionist) & was told by them that it is still technically 40wks if multiples, but just that they normally always come early, hence 38wks, so she said provided I have that in writing, I'm covered, phew.
DH & I decided to stick with Jock Shumack unless we hear a good reason not to use him, & based on what GP said. If we don't like him on 1st aptmt, then will change to Greg Lowe.
Hi Girls,
NZGirl and TamB - yep, I CAN'T believe that I am 24 weeks already! Funny how it just seemed to drag to get to the 19 wk U/S and since then the weeks just run along. Must be time to start on the nursery and stuff... hmmmmm...
On the other hand, look at both of you!! You are both flying along also! Must be time for some more scans soon ladies! Will you be finding out the sex of your little ones?
Shell - great news that you are covered! I cannot wait to find out how many you are cooking, LOL!! Glad to hear you have made a decision re your obs, it is always a tough choice isn't it?? I guess, until you meet him/her...... well, at least you have a back up plan.
Hello to everyone else, hope you are all keeping well. Better fly to make some dinner, and speak soon.
We are due to go to the country to see family, so if I am not around for a few day (yeah, like that is unusual, LOL!!) then don't stress, I may not have access to the Internet!
Take care,
Good to hear from you Gab! Sounds like everything is aok in your neck of the woods!
Shell - I have a few names up my sleeve, but I am keeping them under my hat atm, and mulling them over in my brain. Actually I was coming up with names for one of my kittens the other night and asked DH what he thought of Splodge......he looked at me as if I was an idiot as he thought I was talking about baby names LOL! (As if!)
Hope everyone else is ok!
Shell, good news that you are covered and that you can go with the doctor of your choice. Love your names too!
Gab, good to see you are humming along, yes, I think you should start getting the nursery ready! How exciting!
Jo, I think Splodge is a great name! I think David and I are playing the name game tonight. I hate trying to get him to agree to names, he always finds a rude nickname or relates the name to something strange!
We bought a twin pram on ebay, second hand Emmalunga, great condition. Dave is picking it up tonight, makes it all seem very real, somehow.
Not much else from me, waiting waiting waiting for the morph scan.
Sal, how are you, did you have or are you having an earlier scan?
Amy, Tam, Cailin, how are you guys?
Gab I am hanging out for my morph scan and will definately be finding out the sex. Can't wait!!!!
Yes we will be finding out the sex also and I can't wait. Next thing to look forward to is NT scan on the 30th Aug. M/s has subsided so feel alot more normal, even though I was lucky in that it didn't really hit me too hard.
Tiggy - Exciting news about the pram. My mum has gone a bit nuts buying newborn clothes and things, it's so funny and very cute.
Sal - Missing you! - Damn compoota!
Take care all!
