Cool, c u've got a preggy belly now Tiff, lookin good. Oh I just can't wait to start buyin stuff, we've got 4 things already (b4 pg) & the other day bought another 2 small things to celebrate. The work colleague/friend that I mentioned about ages ago, said I'm not allowed to come over & buy all her stuff (she bought it all new & had 1 child, apparently she's got everything but clothes & a high chair, incl a full nursery furniture set) until after my first scan, so 3wks & counting for the scan & buying. Also, if it's multiples, will have to try & track down a matching cot, or get something similar & repaint it same. LOL.
Gabby, good thing ur on hols, so u have some time to plan that nursery, have fun, I can't wait to do that. Yep, more waiting, soo much waiting in TTC, then it just moves on to pg, I guess the huge thing everyone wants (as some of u have just confirmed) to get to is that morph/sexing scan, I know I'm hangin out for it too.
Jo, funny DH, yeah right, splodge for a bubba, hehe. Have u got a pickie of your kittens?
Amy, I totally agree, I'm sure there are going to be a few of the LT TTC girls about to graduate very shortly...
-
Carrie, love your website theme (teddies), great minds think alike... hehehe.
Gabbie, are u going to put some of your latest scan pickies on your 'www'? That 3d scan @ 12wks looks so cool, huge difference to the normal scan.
-
Hi girls! Well internet issues continue...so I am trying to duck down to the local library once a day to get on and catch up. Have to have a rant: I was on a PC and this idiot man comes up and says 'OK it's one o'clock now' and I'm thinking '...so?' Well he'd booked that PC so I had to log off (which meant I lost all my BB unread messages) and then WALK TWO STEPS to a nearby PC and log back on....THERE ARE ABOUT 8 FREE PCs and he had to have THAT one. Grrrr I want to punch him in the head (NB these are preg hormones talking!!)
Nope, haven't had an earlier scan... DP reckons he felt blobby kick, when I asked him to feel and tell me how big he thought my uterus was (you know, normal conversation to be having between a couple!). So that, combined with me getting heartburn, is convincing me (...just...) that I am really pregnant. I'm not showing, but I can feel a bump in my lower tummy, sort of feels like a really full and really big bladder. Can't wait to start showing.
Tiff, love your preg belly! And you said you weren't going to show your preg belly off ;)
Wow, all you girls are galloping along, somehow it makes me feel that my pg is going fast (though it doesn't feel like it).
OK must go and check my uni stuff (aka the real reason I'm here at the library LOL).
:grouphug:

Tiff, Cailin is still going well, just the household has been struck down with the dreaded flu #-o Sooo she's offline for a bit, but I'm keeping her up to date with everything by SMS ;)
-
Hi everyone,
just thought I'd make my first tentative steps in here. I never thought I'd see the day!
Mainly wanted to let Cailin know that I remembered ages ago one of the old wives tales she told about having yellow baby booties in the house if you want to fall pg. Well, I told this to sister months ago, and when I started this cycle, my sister brought over her baby girl's yellow booties for me to put beside my bed.
I don't know if that did the trick, but here I am! And I hope I'm here to stay.
love
sushee
-
Sush - Welcome, welcome welcome!!! (And many more congrats again!) I have had a pair of knitted yellow bootees under my pillow for my past two cycles! SO yep, it must work, but in it's own time!
Shell - I have not got the kittens yet, mid to end of September we can pick them up. I spoke to the breeder the other week and he has promised pics asap, I think they are busy with showing atm.
Tiff - We were looking at twin prams today. We are so limited in what we can get. We need the real good bouncy wheels, otherwise I won't be able to walk anywhere, won't even be able to get down the drive . And as i'm tall, we need an adjustable handlebar! We saw one today that fitted that criteria........$998.00.........!!!! If this was our first baby, the money will be spent on that pram, i just couldn't believe the price of it and the other one that i liked (which I don't think had adjustable handles) was about $600.00
What is one to do?? Do you reckon I should make DH go out and get a second job?? LOL!
We were caught in the storm just out of Shepparton today as well, then a nice big tree came crashing down over the highway! Oh what fun! Luckily there were 3 cars in front of us, otherwise I would have **** myself! We had to backtrack and drive down muddy dirt tracks to get to the Hume, which was a million miles a way in the other direction!
-
Sushee, welcome and congratulations! This is the best news!! One of the girls in the April thread bought the yellow booties too and it also happened for her so who knows??!!
Hope everyone is well. Sal, your internet situation sounds like a pain in the Ringo Starr.
Love,
Mel
-
WOW Sush congrats. That is great news. I had one yellow bootie under my pillow and DH one under his for this cycle and it worked for me!!!
-
Hey Girls,
Yay Sushee and welcome!! I agree with the yellow booties, whole heartedly! My mum gave me two pairs for Mother's day. (It was the beginning of the cycle that we fell with these babies!!!! I put one pair in my pillow case and the other I carried with me at all times! Dave also bought me a moonstone bracelet which is supposed to have good fertility qualities. So I am a firm believer.
Jo, We got our from ebay, second hand for 145 dollars and it is the best thing I have ever purchased, second hand of course but in such excellent condition! When we had the first set of twins (the girls) we bought a brand new McClaren stroller, it cost us $900 then (10 years ago) was the only one available to us at the time and it was a pain in the butt! We have so much choice now. Good luck finding your dream pram.
Sal, sorry to hear about your internet troubles, have had them too today and was losing the plot, Belly Belly has become my lifeline! As for the preggy belly, it's good, isn't it? Of course it looks nothing like that in real life, it's floppy and jelly like, not round and beautiful...actually, I look nothing at all like my avatar! Also glad to here that you are feeling a bit more confident about being pg.
Shell, I look at the pram now and the few things that I have bought so far and worry that Iam doing it all too soon. With William, I left everything until 36 weeks. (maybe I knew subconciously he was not going to hang around). It's almost painful buying things but David is so positive and wanting us to move forward, so I'm going with the flow. Must agree though, it is ALWAYS exciting buying for your first baby/ies!
Glad to here Cailin is doing well, thanks Sarah.
Gab, yes definately going to find out the sex of these babies, can't wait for the morph scan. Told the specialist we NEEDED to know so he's booked us in for an extra long scan (God love that man).
Amy, love your preggie belly!
Not much from me, not sleeping so well and having second thoughts about my antenatal care. Very confused about what I am doing. I want a certain doctor and two midwives who were with me when William was born and have stuck with me over the grieving period but now they have dropped off their level of care as they are very busy starting up a new midwifery led unit and I feel very unsupported and alone. Stupid, I know and I argue with myself constantly, you know, it's early days, second trimester, everythings going ok... but the little voice inside my head keeps saying you need care that will support you everytime you feel scared, not confident, anxious...it's the only way you'll make it through. As a midwife and having had a twin pregnancy before, I know the level of care I should be getting and then add on everything else....*sigh* I should just try to relax, I know. On a happy note, I think David and I have nutted out some names that we agree on, if we get one of each. Of course two boys names is proving hard as are two girls!!! Hehe, hope it IS one of each!
-
OMG Sushee CONGRATULATIONS!! :happy4u:
I nearly fell off my chair when I saw your post, I was constantly checking out the LT TTC thread and when I didn't see you post I thought it was bad news. How fantastic!! Are you getting twin vibes?!?!?
Tiff, it must be hard to have such close support drop off a little, yes you're a midwife and a mum of twins, but you're absolutely entitled to worry a little more about this pg. I hope you feel better about things soon.
Amy, I haven't seen your av yet, sorry must duck off this PC (grrrr at internet issues, I am in such need of BB at the mome!!)
-
Oh Tiff, it must be hard, but these ones are gonna stick.
m/c thoughts have been raging thru my head for a week, esp. last night, as had some pain twinges, nothing too major, but still makes me worry. Kinda wish I never knew about them. I just don't know what to expect, what is normal & what isn't when it comes to symptoms?
Cool Amy, another pg belly.
Welcome Sushee & huge congrats again, I just knew u were gonna be joinin us this mth. :-)
Can't wait to see the kitten photos Jo.
-
Ooooh kitten phots! Jo, can I see too when you get them? My two aren't really kittens anymore. The boy especially is bloody huge!
As for me, I know I was real cagey earlier this week about the results, but I didn't know hw things would pan out. My beat wasn't due until Sunday but on Thurs 11dpo, my tummy started to bloat. By Friday, it was so big, I couldn't put on my loosest work pants. I called the clinic in a panic and they told me to come in the next day for a BT.
To my complete and utter surprise, the reason I was bloating was because there was a little'un making progestoerone of it own in there, and combined with my pessaries, my P4 levels shot through the roof! The clinic was cautiously happy with my HCG levels, which were 73, but were concerned about the P4 levels. Despite dropping down to one pessary, the bloating has continued and that's why I had another BT yesterday.
The good news is my HCG nearly quadrupled in 3 days, to 283, and while my P4 levels are still high and I'm still really bloated, like my doctor said, better more P4 than less. I've stopped all pessaries now and the tummy is slowly going down. But there's absolutely no danger to bub (just loads of discomfort for me) and I'm off work for the rest of the week.
My doctor came on the phone to tell me that I am officially pregnant. It was the most amazing telephone conversation I've ever had. He says that of course there are no gaurantees, but with my P4 levels and my HCG rising nicely, he couldn't have asked for more.
Thank you all for the welcome and I'm really excited to be here. I'll work on my ticker soon and I'm only a day off from Shell (I'm due on the 17th of April).
Woohoo!
love
sushee

Shell - Yep it's pretty hard to keep calm when your belly starts to get a little af kind of crampy. I think it's pretty normal as everyone seems to have twinges at different times. Probably just the uterus stretching. Keep positive!
Tiff - I have had a look on ebay but have not seen anything yet that I have seen in the shop, and know what it is all about. I was talking to a girlfriend today about it and came to the conclusion that we could get a second hand bassinet and cot (I don't care if it all doesn't match at this stage) but really should get a decent pram otherwise I will be housebound. Will keep checking on ebay and keep my eye on the local paper as well. Not really stressing about it, just couldn't believe the price. Oh the world makes a lot of money out of us pregnant mummies!!
A word on my local hospital! The one remaining ob (been there about 4 months) will not be renewing her contract at the end of the year! DO you think there might be something wrong with the way the hospital is being managed?? LOL
Hope everyone is ok.
-
Sarah, could u please update some of my details please:
Due: 14 Apr 06
Hospital: NPH
Baby Name(s) Chosen: Cameron Kenneth / Holly Maree
Baby's Website: See "www" in signature
Bet u can't wait to tell everyone Sush!!!
-
Shell,
I didn't have to. I told my mum and now everyone I've ever known knows. It wasn't quite my intention, was going to wait until 12 weeks on, but too late now....
love
sushee
-
Sush Honey - I am so incredibly stoked for you and can completely understand you being cautious, awesome to see your ticker too! I love this thread, it's getting busier and busier by the day.
By the way, how cool is my avatar?!! I look so hot!! Of course my belly doesn't look like that yet, it's just starting to look a bit fat more than anything! It'll almost be a relief when I do start to show as my morning sickness has stopped now and bb's not as sore it does worry me a bit that I'll get to my scan and baby will be gone. Just me being silly but I need to worry about something! On the upside I halved my pessaries and estradiol yesterday and then stop it completely next Tuesday, yay no more pessaries!!
Well I must go, will do proper personals later. Was just about beside myself when I couldn't get on BB foums yesterday, talk about withdrawal!
Take care.
-
Hi girls,
Amy, love your av, and yes you're HOT! Wow, you're past 10w already, is amazing how nicely this forum has grown. Can't wait for the others to come from LT TTC, will just make this thread the best one on the net!! What sort of furbaby do you have?
Sush, I shed a little tear about your news, I was so worried about you (in LT TTC I think no news is bad news usually). Your BT numbers are fantastic, I'm starting to get twin vibes from you! Your ticker is cute, too!
Hi to all, sorry will just do a little selfish rant post now...had a torrid evening, just got so down about lack of pg symptoms and not showing yet (seems like all the other girls due in Jan are showing and have been for a couple of weeks) plus haven't felt any movement. I really brought down DP and this morning he emailed me and told me we should rent a doppler for peace of mind, so I'm going to order one very shortly. My scan is a week and a half away and I just don't know how I'm going to make it to then without some kind of reassurance.
Shell, I know how you're feeling right now! I wish I could say that after the 6w scan you'll stop worrying, but if you're anything like me you won't. O:)
-
Hey Sal - We have a gorgeous chocolate labrador, that's him in my avatar! I think you should go ahead and get the doppler, anything that puts your mind at rest is worth it I say.
-
Sush - Just wanted to drop in and make sure you were in here, where you belong ;) Interesting about the P4... :-k . 17th April sounds like a lovely time of year, btw.
Unfortunately guys the bootie thing isnt foolproof, so Ive discovered. Ive had two pair one from Kazz and one from Sarah since about March... but alas. But perhaps they will work for our upcoming FET.... Not giving up on the bootie theory just yet!
Sal - cant believe you are almost 18 weeks! Thats just incredible and can hardly believe that you dont have much of a tum yet either. Bet you cant wait for the morph scan!
Amy - your av is just adorable and am loving the preggie belly!
Shell - Just wait and see darlin, all will be ok. I got a very good feeling about that tummy of yours.
Everyone else - miss you guys and just makes my day to see you all in here! Big hugs and kisses from me!
-
Yaaaay, congrat Sushee :D Do you want your details added yet??
-
Awesome Sal, not long to go for ur scan. As for dopplers, my friend bought one from Ebay (i think that's where she got it from). She's kindly offered to lend it to me, can't wait. D'yu know anyone that has one, or are there any on ebay. Gab had very late symptoms/belly, so hope u get some soon tho.
Sush, LOL at your mum spreading the news quick smart. Yep, my MIL, mum, step-mum, dad & sis were the same, however I said they could. They are just sooo clucky, we are the last chance at a grandchild on DH's side, (although there are 3 step grandkids by marriage) & the 2nd grandchild on my side of the family. Funny, my 8yo nephew drew us a picture as soon as he found out, which I haven't seen yet, & he said "oh I'm sooo happy they fixed things". The things kids say huh!!! Then, a little bit later, he thought oh hang on, & said "i'll always be nanny's first (or best?) grandshild", hehehe, how cute.
Amy, oh I so agree with what u said bout the forum bein down the other day, I kept checkin.
Jo, they're not af cramps, but more like twinges of pain, nothing severe & mainly when I'm driving home, the last 2 days, so I've been laying down most of the evening after work. I guess it could be my uterus stretchin, so it is meant to feel like that?
Thanks Keen, we're saving that seat for u, for your next FET!!!
-
Sush - Sorry, I missed your post last night! You must be over the moon times 100 at the moment. Has it sunk in yet? Are you still going around with a big grin on your face, then stopping to rub your belly?
Sal - I say, rent it!
Shell - I get sharp pains as well, especially when I cough, I still think it is normal though, I had them before my 6.4 week scan and as you know everything turned out ok!
Amy - Love your new av!
We are all ok here. I have had a bit of news that has upset me :( My witchy cat "Oi" has to have his teeth cleaned, this involves a general and I am ****ting myself that something is going to go wrong. I booked him in for next Tuesday, so everyone send some good vibes his way, I will not cope if anything was to happen to him as well.
-
Thanks Jo, that's all I needed to hear, someone else with the same symptoms, thanks. Hope ur puddy tat is just fine. Mine nearly had to have his cleaned too, he was border lined, so vet suggested the science diet oral care, which we've been feeding him ever since, much cheaper at our local bulk pet produce store. They also suggested feeding him raw chicken every now & then (eg: chicken necks), however my puddy won't eat anything raw or cooked, except ham & prawns (very occasionally we get them & puddy glares at us if we don't give him 1 or 2) & if he has any more than 2, he throws them up, they think seafood intollerance. So he gets science diet in morning & a wiskas meat sachet in the arvo. Hope this info helps.
-
Sushee, congratulations. Must make it all worthwhile now.
Sal, Don't stress about the lack of pg symptoms. I didn't tell anyone I was pg. until 18 wks and no-one guessed. - in fact, I had people at work who saw me all the time that didn't realise I was pg at 34 wks. also I didn't feel hardly any movement the whole pg. Everyone is different and you will be OK. Having said that, the doppler is a great idea. :)
-
Thanks girls, I actually got the doppler in the mail this morning and have found blobby's hearbeat (144bpm) so am incredibly relieved. Had actually worked myself into quite a state last night and felt like I was going to throw up just before I found the heartbeat. It was worth every cent and now it means that on the day of the morph scan I'll be excited rather than feeling sick to my stomach!
Shell, I have rented a doppler, I saw those ones on Ebay and I wasn't convinced about their quality. I think I'd be cautious about using one too early because of the risk of not finding a heartbeat (when of course there is one there but it's just too early to find it). When I got the doppler the instructions said that if your placenta is anterior then it can be harder to find the heartbeat....of course they only tell you that once you've ordered and PAID for it! Luckily I can hear blobby's heartbeat, though it is a bit muffled.
Jo, sending lots of 'good operation' vibes to Oi!
Phew, internet issues still continue, am at public library and have already been kicked off one PC and just kicked off another, so must run now.
-
Awesome news Sal. I'm not going to borrow my friend's for a while yet. It made her feel so much more at ease, whenever she felt anxious about her 'teddi' (due any time now), she'd use the doppler, her hubby was stoked to be able to hear it too, being as we experience almost everything & they don't. When is it able to be heard, from around 10-12wks? What a pain about your internet access & it can't of helped over the last 2 days when BB was down.
-
Hi girls,
Sal - great that you could put your mind at ease by using the doppler. Must take some of the stress out of your next scan. Now if you can just get that little internet situation fixed you'll be laughing.
Shell - I get the cramping pains as well. Particularly if I turn over in bed or sit up too quickly. I guess it's kind of a reminder that we need to take things a bit easier now.
Jo - hope your cat's teeth-cleaning goes well and that he bounces back from his operation. Thinking of you.
Sush - has it sunk in yet? =)
I'm having today off work because I feel a bit under the weather. I decided to go and see my GP while I have the chance. My obstetrician's appointment is not for a couple more weeks but I kind of feel I should see someone just to get a general check up even though everything seems to be going fine. Not too many symptoms for me but I think I know already that the baby is taking after it's father - Apple loves sleep and salty chips. I've been trying to feed him salad sandwiches for a few days but no go. What can I say? You can't fight the forces of nature.
Hope you are all well.
Love,
Mel
-
Hey Everyone
I'm having an "It's all about me!" day, yes the dreaded panic attacks about missed miscarriage and everything are plagueing me today. Morning sickness has gone pretty much and bb's not as sore, I should probably just be glad about this instead of freaking out. I might look on the internet for a doppler like Sal.
-
Amy,
I'm so sorry that you're worried. I thought getting that BFP would be the end of all the worrying, but it's the start of a whole new different sort of worry!
Well, I was thinking of waiting until my next BT to add my details but decided that I'm not going to live in fear (at least for the next ten minutes).
love
sushee
-
Right - have given myself a very stern talking to and told self to pull it's head in.
Mel - sorry to hear you're not feeling great. Must admit early on I felt like MCDonals and KFC even though it made me feel sick once I ate it. Thanks goodness since then Bucky (what I have been calling the baby in my head) has gone on a fruit binge - much more healthier.
Sal - Great to hear about the doppler, how exciting for you. Boo on the internest issues, we miss you!
Jo - Sorry to hear Oi has to go in for an op, I always feel so awful when Milo has to go the vet because he doesn't know what's coming! The worst was when he went in to get castrated, I felt SO mean. How old is Oi? Sending loads of good vibes your way - across the Tasman!
Shell - how are you sweet?
Take care everyone, sorry for blahing before...
-
Sush Honey! I hadn't forgotten you, infact I have been thinking of you so much lately it is so very very cool to have your company in this thread.
-
Amy, hope u r feelin more confident soon, I am now. Those dopplers sound like a fantastic invention.
-
Amy - Don't worry about it! We all turn neurotic at this time. I did prior warm the March thread in my first post there LOL! Don't spend too much time on the internet looking up what could go wrong and get a good friend to send you some reminder emails every now and again telling you to get a grip, lol! Oi has just turned 7, so it is basically now or never, i wish they had said something last year or the one before.
Shell - Thanks for the advice. I have tried chicken wings, chicken necks and the latest, lamb chops. Won't touch the chicken, and will only pull the meat off the chops that i have half cut and refuses to go near the bone. Weird puss!
Sal- Hope your internet problems go away, it sure is a pain in the butt. The doppler sounds great. I am very wary of getting one as I think it might be too hard to detect 2 heartbeats and i will have a pink fit if I can't hear them both. I'm glad that bub is doing great in there. Not long to your scan now, mine is a week away.
Mel - Good to hear from you, was having a little wonder about how you were going! Interesting about the salty chips, mine like all breeds of chips (except chicken-yuk!) and glad to say that triple choc drumsticks are back on the menu!
Sush - Hope you are doing ok!
-
Mel, I noticed u called apple "he", so ur thinking boy first I guess, cool. We'd like a boy first, then a girl, so she has an older brother, but I'll be stoked either way. Only 2 more days. Oh I wish mine was that close, still 2.5wks. It will be so much more real seeing the little blob/blobs on the u/s screen. And only 1 more wk til yours Sal & Jo. Can't wait to see photos.
Went to 6 garage sales today, bought stuff from 3 of them. 2 other girlfriends did this for their babies & picked up heaps of bargains, much cheaper than buying brand new. For $8.50 we got: 2 bunny rugs, 1 flat + 2 fitted cot sheets, quilted look octopus/fish/whale cot quilt (or for lying bubby on on the floor), 2 body suits & 2 bibs. Then sis gave me a cute yellow sleeping suit, with little eyes & a tiny beek made in the hood of it & & a parenting mag, although she's got other little goodies hidden away, but showed me some of them about 6mths ago. Dad gave me a cute set of yellow knitted booties. Mum rang last wkend to take orders for stuff to be knitted, eg: asked me what colours etc, so she's going to wait til we know the sex first, so colours will be right.
-
Hey Shell, if you have a sewing machine (or mum does) you can pick up flannelette material at spotlight for $1.99 a metre, then just cut to size and hem. I made about half a dozen for Jack and they washed up heaps better than the brought ones as well! (I also made sheets for the bassinet as well!)
-
Hi Ladies,
Shell - great bargain hunting there. I'm hoping to pick up a few cast offs from friends which will help. Had a bit of a look at stuff in Babyco (these places have been off limits before) and had a small conniption at the prices.
Yes, I'm referring to Apple as "he" at the moment ... not so sure why it is a boy, just that I figure with IVF the odds are stacked in favour of males.
Speaking of which, DH really **** me off today. I was talking about the other embryos and giving this one a sister or brother later. He said "Well we can't afford to do this again. We can't afford to have more than one child". I said "Well, I'm not leaving nine embryos to research so you'd better have a think about that". He then went on and on about how we would never be able to afford a house or anything and it made me cross. I was already feeling a bit down and now I feel even worse.
Ultrasound on Monday so I'd better get a good look at the one child I'm ever going to be allowed to have. God, he makes me mad.
Sorry girls ... I'll be back to post later when I'm not so grumpy.
Mel
-
Hi Mel,
Hope you are not so mad today. Best to just enjoy this first one I say.
I hope the ultrasound goes well. Is Jedi coming with you??
On the buying for baby topic - my attitude was that every dollar I saved helped me be able to stay home a bit longer with baby. So the only major thing we ended up buying new was a car seat, when she went from a capsule to a car seat. I was so lucky as because most of my friends had finished their families they took the opportunity to clean everything out and I got so much stuff. I have some babies baths you can borrow, when you need them. Hopefully I will need them back. My sister, who I am saving them for, had her first IVF cycle cancelled so she won't need them for a while.
-
Hi Mel, hope ur feelin better today. Who knows, u could be carrying 1 of each!!! Hope DH comes round eventually. 2 of my friends that were wanting their 2nd, had the same response from their DH's, but they came around, eg using such things as: wouldn't u rather a family than being 'comfortable', isn't a family more important than $, if we wait til we have more $, we will never end up having a 2nd, u survive on what u've got... :-) Can't wait to see those pickies.
Anney, hope u & ur sis both get BFP's together, ASAP... :-)
Thanks Jo, yeah I was thinking bout that too, but when the 2nd hand ones were only 50c each, thought why not. I know I'll have to get used to sewing stuff soon. :-)
-
Hi girls! Well I'm at a study centre for my uni, in the heart of Brisbane city, to cadge internet usage. The local library is shut today. At least I won't get kicked off the PC...but there are notices up in the room here saying that Energex is shutting power to the building today and the study centre is shut. Did the uni tell me about this before I trekked into the city? Heck no! So I may be trapped in a 'dead' building very shortly! Too bad, miss BB so will take the risk.
My internet probs won't be fixed until Sep 1st. What happened is that we were put to a 200MB plan, and on the 2nd day of the month we got a courtesy notice telling us we had used over 100MB of that! So if I use the internet at home we are going to end up with a huge bill. *@!**@ Telstra, they are such liars about their service plans, I swear. At least next month we are going back to broadband unlimited.
Mel, hope you're feeling better. I bet once your DP experiences the magic of having a child, he'll come to the conclusion that family is mor important than financial security! Wow, I guess you have some decisions to make re your embys, what with your record it is very likely unless you want 10 kids that you'll have some 'left over' (that sounds awful to write).
Jo, hope Oi's op went/goes well.
Amy, hang in there, you'll be having your next scan before you know it, and it'll give you reassurance for, oh, at least a few days afterwards! Then you can always do the doppler thing, I think you can hear the heartbeat on a home doppler from 12 weeks.
Yep, doppler is a lifesaver! I've trained DP to be my u/s nurse, he scans me morning and night! Blobby's heartrate is about 145-150bpm so I know that according to the old wive's tale it is either a boy or girl with a slower heartrate, but can't remember which #-o
Hi to all, hope you're having nice weekends! Brisbane weather is gorgeous today, quite spring-like and uplifting.
OK now going to do some Uni work (the 'official' reason I'm here ;))

Mel - Don't worry about DH. Mine was the same. After Apple is born and has been here for a little while he will be so besotted that he will probably want all nine! Men have a bit of a security issue when faced with life changing events, and they become a little jeolous as well with all the attention that is being showered upon you and your baby. He will get over it!
With regards to buying things etc. I think a decent carseat and a decent pram is where you need to spend the money. You will use both items a lot. Cots, rockers, highchairs etc can be picked up second hand or really cheap during the sales. Also with Jack, I used to buy an item a week (bibs, singlets, growsuits etc) rather than going out and buying it all in bulk. Best and less have great baby wear sales, I picked up several Bonds growsuits for $4 each.
