    Hi everyone

Welcome Hope, Fig and Monnie, so good to have some more faces in here. I can totally relate to all the worries you are all having, I am still a nervous wreck at 8 weeks, none of the things I am worrying about are in my control so I am trying to calm down a bit.

Oh and with cramps, I was convinced AF was on the way early on due to the cramps. I also had very sore ovaries and my FS told me it was all very normal, especially after IVF and for me because I have had so many laparocopies.

I have my first OB appointment tomorrow which I am looking forward to, as is DH. It's all the great unknown now. Gosh this will be my third gynea type dr for this year if you count my normal gynea, infertility specialist and now OB, DH calls them my medical team LOL.

Other than that, I have completely lost where our thread is up to, not good at swapping to a new one and remembering what everyone has been talking about. I hope everyone is going along well

    Jane...you are so right...

none of the things I am worrying about are in my control so I am trying to calm down a bit.
Everytime I have a twitch or it feels like something is "happening"...I go into a minor tail spin...I'm hoping that I settle down soon...

I'm just wanting to enjoy this...

    Cheers to all!

Oh Jane - laughing at your post about the medical team comment....so feels like that. This yeAR i've HAD TWO GYNOs, THEN MY ivf SPECIALIST AND OF COURSE THE LOVELY NURSES, (opps sorry about the caps) and by the end of the year I'll be back to my gyno who I'm quite sure is also an OB.

A little reassure today though about my continuing cramps / pains in the lower abdomen and back. I saw my chiropractor last night who is also a very good friend. She also assures me that what I'm feeling is very normal especially given my medical history which includes I don't how many laps - I have actually lost count. She has also changed how she adjusts my spine now which is great. Must admist the pain has lessened since her adjustment last night.....

Hope you are all well. I'm 5 weeks today....YAY

Nic - it went really well, he seems like a very laid back and nice sensible dr. It's very different from seeing gyneas for endo and fertility treatment though, I think I am used to going to the dr and coming out booked for surgery or something, whereas this was just "have this blood test and ultrasound and see you straight after". He had some great advice about coping with work and dealing with family too which I wasn't expecting.

So now I just wait for my scan which is in the new year, only four weeks to go and with everything on between now and then time will fly.

How is everyone else going? I am exhausted and really feel like calling in work and staying home with Phil and Oprah, but I better soldier on . Hope everyone is well.

    Hi Jane
thats great to hear your Dr was good. I haven't confirmed my OB yet - must get on to that.
Christmas and New Year will certainly be a good distraction and time should fly. But also a tempting time to share the happy news....

Talking of which when do you all plan on telling friends/family?

I told my parents adn PIL as soon as the BT was confirmed - but that was because we had been trying for so long and we were due to go for a FET a few weeks after we conceived naturally - so they were expecting some action. We didn't tell anyone else until we were 13 weeks - mainly because my brother and SIL lost a baby at 12 weeks 3 months before.

    Hey guys

Even though I'm really early in all of this...we've told people (family and close friends). I know it's a risk, but we just thought given that the wait has been so long, we would share the joy for however long that joy lasts for...

I so hope that we don't kick ourselves later...

I think it's such a personal thing. I can totally understand people not telling...and I admire them for their amazing patience!!!

My problem is that I'm well known for being a wine lover...so any refusal of wine, regardless of any excuse I used ("I'm driving"..."I'm on antibiotics")...would have never cut it!!! And with silly season on us...it would have been impossibe to avoid!

We told our family in small groups....my parents...DH's mum...DH's siblings...my siblings...

The way we did it was tie a little baby's bib around our very cheeky dog's neck which said "guess who is going to be a big brother?" He's such a friendly little fella who is big into saying hello to everyone...so he would rush up to them with his bib on...

The reactions were amazing...especially DH's Mum...she initially thought "oh no...they're getting another puppy!!!"

My Dad has spent the last 3 days crying...he can't speak to me without crying...he ever cried on the train on the way home from work...he's a huge softie (as you can guess!)

So here's hoping this all sticks...I am feeling positive and are just trying to go with that for the moment...

That's great news Jane about your appointment...wonderful!

We're catching up with our FS specialist in a few weeks...still not sure whether we want him to be our ob...I'm so hoping for minimal medical intervention but I'm not sure how possible that is with a Ob...any ideas?
