Oh Sammie.... What a week youve had! Welcome beautiful baby Colt!! You hold him with every oppurtunity you get hun! There are women out there that tell us not to hold our bubs too often and to put them down to sleep so It wont spoil them.. I never listened to them once with my son and I will never with any of my children! Im so sorry hes been through a rough entrance to the world, but Im sure now hes turned a corner lots of mummies cuddles warmth and affection (plus of course that amazing breastmilk!) will see him up and running around with a magnificently contagious lil smile on his face in no time! Cherish him your lil golden baby

When I saw my son going through the worst of his condition when he was a baby sometimes when he would cry and cry and cry I would just hold him as tight as I could and cry with him.. I dnt think anyone should underestimate the healing powers of a mother and fathers affection. And now hes so full of life and so cheeky and unstoppable we lose our breaths just trying to keep up with him

CONGRATS AGAIN SAMMIE! My lil jelly bean may be sharing a name with Colt.. Not his first name.. But if it is a boy we have Jesse Picked out as his first name Or if its a girl she will be Katara!

feeling a lil on the mend today I even walked 1and a half K down to the shops with my son and picked up some extra groceries so I must be doin ok

I agree London Miss -=- Not just for babies too but for any kind of health problem we'd all be screwed back then.. Me and Dh were watching a horrific doco the other night about the first brain surgerys that were carried out on thousands of people as short a time ago as the 1920's.. Basically anyone with any kind of mental health problem (or sometimes not even that) were lobotamised with pretty much an icepick hammered into there brain with a hammer and wiggled around a lil bit! I cant imagine what things would have been like in those times.. Id rather not go see the doctor IYKWIM!!

Lise-=- sorry to hear your havin a bad time too keep our fingers crossed we'll both be on the mend proper soon eh!

Paula -=- Your avatar is the cutest! I love the lil belly hehe those things are so adoreable!

    Morning Ladies

Well a big CONGRATULATIONS to Sammie on the birth of little baby Colt. What a great name. I can't believe the experience you've had though, but I'm praying that all is going well and that Colt is growing stronger everyday. Make sure you take care of yourself too.

I've looked back on my posts and it seems I only ever seem to get on here about once a week, so will try and catch up.

Paula / Wantbaby / Kyra - thank you all for your positive comments about us having a boy (and Paula you're right... everyone of the little girls in here needs a boyfriend). I'm sure it's probably just the fact that I'm a girl, so it's easier to relate to having a girl, so it was a little bit of getting used to when we actually found out it was a boy. But I am absolutely thrilled we are having a little boy.

Lise - how are you feeling? Any better? And I completely agree with your comment about the baby stopping their movement when DH goes to feel. My DH only felt his first kick last weekend and he was so excited. The look on his face was priceless actually. But since then, he's been trying to feel movement on my stomach and baby charlie just won't cooperate. Then as soon as DH goes away, baby starts moving again. It's so weird.

Hi to all the other lovely gals on here who I've missed.

AFM - had OB appt this week and I wanted him to do another scan (to check that everything is still ok, but also to reconfirm we're having a boy). But he wouldn't do it. He said he doesn't like doing unnecessary scans, so I was a bit disappointed about that. He used the doppler though and heartbeat was good. We plan on having a 3D scan at 28 weeks, so I'll just have to wait until then.

Went into my old IVF clinic this week too, as I had to pay embryo storage fees, but I found out that my favourite nurse has re-signed. She was still there when I went in and I was able to have a bit of a chat to her, but I was so disappointed, because I really wanted her to still be there when we go back for #2 baby. Such a shame because she is really great.

Just a quick question about this infamous "list" of when everyone is due. I'm not sure where it is (as I'm curious to check out when everyone is having their little babies) and I'm not even sure if I'm on it. Where is it?

Anyway, I'd better get back to work.

    Wishes xoxo

Oh, and I forgot to mention that we bought our first big purchases for baby last weekend too. Paid for the pram, car seat, bassinet, nursery furniture etc, so that was really exciting. The shop was having a sale too, so because we bought a particular type of car seat, we got a free port-a-cot, so that was great (both our families are interstate, so a port-a-cot will come in very handy when we go to visit them).

We were able to take home the car seat, pram and port-a-cot, but everything else has to be ordered so I can't wait for it all to arrive. Then I can start setting up the nursery. Yay!!

    Wishes xoxo

Thanks Kyrawolfe. It is a cute little avatar.

wishes my OB is the same with regards to the unnecessary scans which i think is fair enough. However, it would have been great for you to see bub again. Also yay on the baby purchases. I cant wait to start mine but might wait another month at least.

    YAY its Friday!!

Hello all. Apols in advance for the rant. I BLOODY HATE LIVING IN ALBERT PARK WHEN IT'S GRAND PRIX TIME! BAN THE BLOODY THING!

3 nights in a row, we've had tram repairs starting at 11.30pm and finishing at 6am so the poor poppets going the GP aren't inconvenienced so I can't sleep a wink, I can't get a taxi down my own street without being harassed by a dozen dozy security men, the noise of the week long warm ups is unbearable and I'm just been woken up out a deep sleep (needed because I can't damn well sleep at night) by the supersonic fighter pilots going overhead in a practice dozen runs. I nearly wet myself the first time one went over, it's so close over the house, it's a terrifying noise.

Sorry, I hate everything about it and I can't understand why it's permitted in an urban area and worse, we have to pay millions and millions of tax funds for the bloody thing. It would be better off spending it on something useful like rebates for IVF. The only good thing is that the the dog isn't here, she found it terrifying last year.

Right, rant over hope you are all well!

Hello all. I'm awake again with the all night engineering works on the tram stop outside our house and dreaming of taking a kalashinikov into Yarra Trams unless they stop soon... I just want to sleep at night... I want to cry with frustration

I hope you are all well and had good weekends. Wishes - make sure you practice with the portacot. My friends used theirs on NYE when they slept here, and I kid you not it took four adults about 8 hours to get the damn thing down.... admittedly 3 with hangovers and not v practical me... ! ha ha ha

Boc~ Glad to see your pics on facebook. How is the breastfeeding going? He is such a cutie, but im sure you know that already
Londonmiss~ Im with you on the noise front. We have had jackhammers, cement trucks and everything else down the back of our house for the past 3 weeks.I think the neighbours are doing extensions or building a swimming pool or something. We live on a sloping land which leads down to the georges river so there are about 4 houses behind us which are hidden by trees so i cant see whats going on.The noise is very annoying and the inteference causes our HD and internet to cut out at times. They however dont work at night so i can sleep, but start very early and it goes on all day so i cant hear the tv or concentrate on my sculpting.
    Lise~Hope your doing well.
Everyone else...belly rubs to all and to those that have finished baking their buns...kisses to bubs.

Im missing my DH.He is STILL working 4 hrs away down the coast. He has been home for 3 days in 3 weeks. He comes home on Tuesday night and then we will have to start moving with the 5 days he has off.We were supposed to move last weekend but that didnt happen.DS and my mum, have been packing things for me but its so stressful.
As for baby things,im currently scouring the net for inspiration on designing a nursery and finally have my ideas sorted.Im going to do a vintage/shabby chic theme for my little baby girl.I am having everything white~ sleigh cot,the drawers have had their vintage style glass knobs ordered and i am buying a miniature cane pram for her vintage style dollies to sit in for decoration.I found a beautiful patchwork/floral bedding set from the states which is just devine.Im very excited to start decorating.
Im also hping when DH arrives home,to finally pick a name!!!!
Peanut has been kicking and turning alot and sometimes so hard they startle me.Usually at night, she is busiest so i sit on the couch and just watch and feel for an hour or two.
I have my app on Thursday (another $950) so will ask about the weird pulling pain i feel behind my belly button when i sneeze.I read that the area behind the belly button doesnt stretch so it can feel kind of strange but i also had a hernia years ago and have a laparoscopy scar too so that could explain things.
Well today im doing nothing at all.Im going to be lazy, watch tv and do jacks**t. Enjoy your day girls.

SAMMIE~ How is Colt doing now??? I hope he is still continuing to grow and be strong. Please let us know. Thanks xxxx

Hi Ladies, I hope you don't mind me jumping in.

We're expecting our first bub after 4+ years TTC and eventually IVF. We're blessed with a pretty normal pregnancy so far (Although I did have severe OHSS at the start and spent a week or so in hospital) but all that's behind us now. We have our 20 week scan coming up on April 1st.

    Just wanted to say Hi.

Congrats Smithy on becoming a nanna. You will have such a great relationship with your grandson!

wantbaby#2 i seem to be having a hard time choosing nursery decorations. Might have to spend some quality time on the internet and hopefully get inspired.

Ninah welcome. Soooooo wonderful to hear success stories. Great to hear that you have had a good pregnancy so far. Only 3 more sleeps to your scan!!

Ninah - welcome to the madhouse no personal problems to be hidden here.

Oh I'm so excited just opened a huge package from ecochild. PVC free (I think that's it anyway!!) baby changer, cloth nappies and disposables, creams and god knows what, cotton wool and all sorts. There really isn't anything like a nice big parcel to cheer you up!!! Unfortunately rather got in the way of my essay writing... oops.

At the risk of sounding an alcoholic, wouldn't it be nice if you could just have one or two 'joker cards' to play whilst pregnant, and be able to switch the baby on to back up supply for 12 hours or so. I don't want to drink a bottle of vodka, but two or three glasses of decent shiraz would be nice... with a nice bit of soft blue cheese, a soft egg and a whole camembert. (oink oink) I'll stop now, I'm making my own mouth water.

I don't think it's possible to nest more. I even tidied all our papers last week, including 4 tax returns (UK and Aus for me and DH) and sorting out all the little hidy holes for crap that I have about the house. I'm dying to paint but I can't...

    how are you all?

london miss~ alcohol? I am craving for a can of coca cola.I wont even drink that! luckily i cant stand the smell of alcohol or cheese.Actually, cheese is the one thing i definately cannot stand the sight or smell of.Its funny how many foods you cant indulge in whilst pregnant.I bought a Pampas frozen lemon meringue last week and forgot about the raw egg in the meringue.I ate a small slice leaving half the meringue on the plate and was still a nervous wreck afterwards. In fact i cried all night and the next day thinking i had caused terrible issues..LOL.Everyone i spoke to later said i had NOTHING to worry about as it is cooked at the factory plus i cooked it for 45 minutes to reheat anyhow.
Mum thinks there are too many things out there being written, that only scare pregnant women to death.Basically to have a safe pregnancy, you must be in a coma where you are away from everything! She said she ate cheesecakes, custard etc and even painted my crib herself and im still here.I think its scary reading so many things.Women have been having healthy babies for centuries and i bet there werent any health warnings like there is now.Im still careful...actually beyond paranoia but at the same time,i know its silly...i just cant get past it and so continue to scrub my fruits/vegies clean, avoid mayo on my chicken burger, and even avoid chocolate with peanuts in it...the list does go on,and on and on ....LOL

Firstly - welcome to the thread and a big CONGRATULATIONS Ninah Nice to have someone new on board - wishing you the very best for the rest of your pregnancy. Not long now till your scan, hope you enjoy every minute of it!

Londonmiss- your parcel sounds so very exciting. Have you been playing and rearranging everything? DH laughs at me because every time we buy something new I make us pull EVERYTHING out and have another look, and sort things into different piles. He always complains but he plays along to humour me...! Hope you're enjoying all the peace and quiet after the Grand Prix - when we were in Melbourne we lived in St Kilda and Prahran and it was bad enough then.

Wantbaby - love the idea of your shabby chic theme for your little girl, sounds divine. I'm still trying to work out which way to go, though like you all our furniture is white. Trouble is, because we're not telling anyone that we know the sex it's a bit hard to decorate properly before the Chicklet's arrival... And I must say, you are very good to avoid all those foods/drinks still. I'm not saying I eat lots of things that are bad for me, but I’m afraid this Chicklet is very familiar with coke and chocolate, and I have to confess that I did lick the bowl the other day when I was making a cake

Paula - have you struck inspiration yet? Hope all is going well!

Smithy - a big congratulations to you on being a nanna!! I'm still trying to work out how you could possibly be old enough to have 5 children, let alone a grandchild but hope all is going well with all the babies Charlie is certainly growing up isn't she? What a cutie.

BOC - glad to hear all is going well - love the photos!!

Kyra - hope you're feeling better xx

Wishes - the 'list' is a list of all of us in here, due dates, nicknames of our bubs and the colour of our bundles (if we know and are willing to share...!). Here's the link to the latest list, though there are a few updates to be made: https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...tc-10-a-2.html Londonmiss is looking after it now so if you post/PM her your details I’m sure she'll add your name. I know what you mean about the scans, I wish they did them more often - DH and I are lucky to be having a 28 week 3D/4D scan next week and I just can't wait!!!

Sammie - hope you're home with your gorgeous boy xx

Phew, think I’ve covered everyone! AFM - well home AGAIN with another infection. All the headaches I had last week were the build up to another sinus infection so at home resting up. I go back to my GP tomorrow because my blood pressure was a little higher than it has been - 125/75. I know last time I had a sinus infection my BP was a little higher too, and I wasn't concerned then but this time I’ve been reading about preeclampsia so I’m stressing myself out that of course that's my problem, and probably making my BP rise even more in the process!! So tell me to get a grip, stop Googling symptoms and just relax ladies, please!!!

In happier news, I finally bought a bassinet, I just love it. It's pretty simple, just a Moses basket on a stand, but I didn't really like all the frilly ruffly ones, just not me. Yet again I had to put it all together myself, but I seem to be getting the hang of that because it didn't take very long at all lol.

Anyway, hope you're all doing well, sending belly rubs to all and a call to those we haven’t heard from for a while (lilmisshavachat? Emerald star?), hope everything is okay - come tell us how you’re going xx
