Sadly still here - and just putting on make up to go and see the obs. The only time I ever do, ha ha. Wrote a great long thing earlier but it got eaten. The only thing I can remember typing was went to see a friend with a baby yesterday and she told me of a friend of a friend who was told they were def having a girl and the father had the babies name tattoed on his arm. And you know what's coming next.... it was a boy! So don't trust sonographers, and certainly not before 18 weeks!!

More later once I've been prodded and poked... x

Wishes - congrats!! wow 2ltrs of blood loss, I can't even imagine how you felt, what an ordeal. But so glad little Casey is doing well

    WantBaby2 - Wow!! It's so close!!

Leabie & Brunette - my belly popped in my 16th week, so Leabie you might be just around the corner! Also Leabie, how good are pregnancy dreams!!?? They are the wildest things!

Brunette - I've been having some horrific tearing pains in my lower abdomen, and I've put it down to growing pains (thought the stabbing and cramping pains around week 15 or so were bad, but they've got nothing on these doozies!)

To everyone else dealing with fluid retention (poor Paula!), emotions running high (um, that covers all of us I think), demanding bosses who only provide 1/2 the information, leg cramps, bad backs, braxton hicks (oh god, I am not looking forward to those!) - BIG BELLY RUBS TO YOU ALL

Wishes, congratulations! I'm sorry to hear the birth was such an ordeal. I hope you're recovering well and that everything goes more smoothly from now on.

Yogi Bear, woo hoo for seeing the heartbeat! I'm so thrilled to hear it went well! I couldn't get over the difference between the 7w and 10w scans. They grow so quickly.

Brunette, I hope the OB says those pains are nothing to worry about. I have to admit that every tiny twinge sends me into a momentary panic.

Leabie, yay for the GTT but boo for the thyroid needing more help.

Paula, I'm glad to hear everything is fine. The fluid retention sounds unpleasant. I hope it eases up a bit for you (or goes away completely would be even better).

LondonMiss, how did you go with the OB?

Afm, this week I've been feeling more like eating during the day. I just tend to feel sick in the morning (before 10am) and then for a couple of hours in the afternoon (2-5pm-ish). I'm going to have to start planning ahead for our office meetings though. We have them at lunchtime so sandwiches are provided. They were making me hungry today, but I don't want to eat the cold sandwich meats, so I'm going to have to start bringing something to the meeting with me now that I don't feel sick at lunchtime.

    Hi Everyone,

Haven't been in here for a few days, everyone has so much to add it's great but I tend to get a bit lost! LondonMiss I hope you have something happening soon, how did your appointment go?

Brunette and CK77, I remember getting those stabbing pains in the tummy with my DD, especially in bed. My Dr at the time said it was probably the round ligament of the uterus stretching (as it has too) and not to worry unless you also had bleeding etc, or unless it went on for a long time. So maybe that's what it was????

AFM - I had some cramping in bed last night and was so paranoid got up to the toilet every 20 minutes just to check. Silly really as pain wasn't even anything like period pain. I think I am just paranoid that something will go wrong. To make it worse I went to the pharmacy the other day and the girl behind the counter started telling me how she had a miscarriage two months ago and how traumatic it was and she doesn't think she could ever try for another baby (obviously she had no idea I am preg so don't blame her but it was way too confronting).... Anyway feeling better about it today, trying to get motivated to clean very messy house as home without kids today, but have terrible cold and really don't feel like doing anything but catching up on sleep! Also have worked out that at the moment the only thing I can stomach for breakfast is tomato on toast. Weird....

Hello lovely ladies. Well, thank you for asking. It was... um interesting. I had a sweep and stretch, which is a somewhat euphemistic phrase... I'm not sure it this will help or put you off but it basically involved a midget obstretrician (thankfully female) putting half her arm up my ying yang and having a good old proddle and push. It was painful, but very short and rather more surprising than properly painful. Thank God DH had left the room, when I described it, he said it sounded more suitable for a very very specialist/ wierd porno than a hospital.... Anyhow. The only thing worse than someones forearm being up your ying yang, is someone's forearm being up your yingyang and then no bloody contractions!!! None, at all!!! So I'm booked in for an induction on Monday at 6.45am if nothings happened by then. And strangely, I feel a lot more relaxed about it now I have a deadline. I had great plans of walking lots today but its currently piddling down in Melbourne so I have decided (drum roll please) to do lots of housework so that I'm stood up and moving about as the next best thing. Maggiepie - I don't know if you know but it's the law that only one person on this thread can do housework at a time, so you'd better go back to bed and relax : )

Wishes - what wonderful news, although it must have been very distressing to begin with. So so pleased that everything turned out all right for you in the end. I am so very grateful that we live in a first world country. We are so very lucky.... one in eight pregnancies result in maternal death in Sierra Leone, isn't that utterly shocking. Sorry, wasn't meant to depress you.... I just find it astonishing that we fanny about putting men into space when we can't even help women in labour. Anyway.

Renee - of course - the list is all yours!!! Well volunteered!! I had been wondering what to do with it. I look forward to seeing all of you do your birth announcements in time. It seems only a moment since I was at the bottom.

To all, huge belly rubs and thinking of you all. x

leabie i do get a strange heavy feeling on my cervix when i walk around so hopefully you're right but who knows. YAY on passing your GTT!
Juniper any chance you can ask that non meat sandwiches be provided?
MaggiePie i think sleep is a much better option!
LondonMiss love your description on the stretch and sweep. You always make me laugh. We are definitely going to miss the humour you bring to this thread. It must definitely be a relief to have a date set. Enjoy your housework, as much you can i guess, and hope it helps things along.
wantbaby#2 ONE MORE SLEEP!!! I feel so excited for you, kind of crazy i know! LOL

Thankyou girls for your well wishes.I just spoke to the hospital and they said i will be fine and that emergency cesareans are alot more difficult/traumatic than a planned one,so that has made me feel more at ease about tomorrow. I went there this morning and had my blood taken (in case of transfusion) which they said never happens (but im sure they have 'some' that require it).
I came home, had my shower to wash my hair, shave legs and trim bikini line, tried to get rid of my toothache which has been killing me(as a result of my block of choccie a day habit) and am now trying to rest and relax. We have to be there at 6AM!!! I havent been anywhere at 6 am in my life, other than bed.Oh maybe when i was young id be leaving a club in the city with girlfriends but that was ages ago.Anyhow,i am now mentally and emotionally preparing myself for tomorrow. I will try and get access to a computer as soon as i can to let you all know how things go and whether my 3x confirmed baby girl IS actually a baby girl.LOL.xox

LondonMiss - thanks for the advice! Don't worry not much cleaning happened anyway, but at least you can actually get through the front door now! It's great that you have a 'deadline' now but I am hoping your bub kicks into action before that anyway. I was induced with my second as he broke the waters 3am Sunday morning and despite contractions every 20 minutes until Monday nothing progressed so they induced me. They hooked me up to the drip at 10am and he was born at 1pm! It was a much better labour than my daughters which dragged on for 19 hours. I think if you do get induced the drip makes everything move along a bit quicker. Apparently that can be more painful (which I was really worried about) but for me it wasn't, and because it was quick I didn't get exhausted like with DD. I just used TENS, back massage for pain then close to transition just some gas. I really hope your labour will be everything you want it to be, will be thinking of you.

Wantbaby - good luck for tomorrow, hope it all goes smoothly.
