Congrats to wantbaby on your beautiful daughter. Hope you are enjoying this most magical time!
Welcome to Jaki and congratulations!!
CK77 - how exciting, hope he loved it I remember my DH had a little tear when he felt it for the first time, I guess we are the ones who experience everything physically so it's amazing for them to feel it too.
Renee - I will keep my EDD as the 24th until proven otherwise! Thanks for doing the list too.
Hi to everyone
AFM - Had my 1st Ob appointment yesterday, my splodge on his ultrasound is 4 days ahead of where I thought I was but he told me not to worry or think about it as it's a different machine and was abdominal rather than vaginal so can be different this early (it was a FET but as we also try each month naturally we won't be exactly sure of the date). He was sooooo lovely after my grumpy FS - it was nice to be around someone positive and supportive. Even though I still have two weeks and 6 days (not that I am counting) until my 12 week scan, I feel a little, teeny bit excited now which is nice because like all of us here, I think I deserve to get a little bit happy about this.
Wantbaby2 - that's wonderful news, I'm so pleased for you. Congratulations to you and DH.
I've had a show... finally..... and now I can't recall, is it after your waters break that you can't have a bath or after a show or both? Typically it is the only thing I feel like.... !
Jaki, yay for great numbers! Can't wait to hear how your u/s goes!
Renee, that's so cute! I've found I'm starting to think about what bub might be able to hear.
OT: With regards to the patio, our house is L-shaped and we'll be filling in the L part to make a rectangle (if that makes sense). The patio will be on the western side of the house, with the house to the east and north. Since the land rises to the east, we actually don't get much sun until the afternoon (western sun), but I noticed last week that the western wall of the rumpus was quite warm to the touch, and that's in winter... I'm a bit concerned that we won't get much breeze since it'll be completely sheltered on two sides. The roof will sit about a foot above the existing house roof, rather than meeting up with it, and the tradesman that DH wants to use said that we don't need insulation in that situation since the hot air can escape through the gap. I guess I'm just not convinced since I don't have any experience with any of it...
A big congratulations to everyone who has had great blood test / scan results. It makes me feel very positive!
I haven't really thought about the whole BD thing whilst pregnant before but I can understand if people don't want to or are worried. We had friends who abstained for the whole 9 months (twice) as the DH could not get around the pregnant thing and thought he was 'poking' his baby the whole time! lol....
Juniper - we built a deck onto the western side of our house, and put half laser light (50%) I think, and half tin (ie three strips of each in a row). It works really well, in summer you can get in the shade and in winter you can get in the sun. We don't have insulation, but it can get cold here at night even in summer so we have a gas heater to put under there if we need it. It also has a fence around and gate so I can put the kids out there even when it's raining so they can have a play outside and stay dry! Good luck with the building.
AFM - I have started to get some nausea setting in, particularly if I haven't eaten in ... oh say 30 minutes - yesterday I ate all day long! It's weird can't stand sweet stuff at the moment which is really unlike me... Had blood tests last week and Dr hasn't rung (she said she would if there was a problem) so assuming that is a good thing and I will see her in a month.
Here's to a nausea free day (funny a couple of days ago I was wishing I felt more pregnant and now I wish nausea was gone! Just can't be pleased)
Thanks Maggie. I was the same with sugary things - I couldn't eat them for weeks because they made me very, very sick. It was only when I got to 12 weeks and the m/s started fading that I could tolerate them again.
