Thanx hun, it was actually pink which is weird. I have a scan at 4:30. I know it can be totally normal but joined with pretty bad cramps and a strange pressure feeling down below i just want to get in and make sure he is ok.

Sweetie, I hope you can get in today and see your FS. Be pushy and don't take no for an answer!
Jaki, FX for your scan this afternoon. When I had a bad start, I think we had about 5 scans in a number of weeks with our FS. He was so great. I actually found the hard part was getting through/around what I call the "gatekeepers" - the receptionists! I'm sure they're just doing their job trying to vet people seeing the FS as they're so busy but still it can be pretty frustrating when you know that your FS would be the first person to want you to come in to make sure everything is okay. I remember waking up one night and having red bleeding, headed straight to our FS's office 1st thing in the morning without an appt. I knew the system and knew the receptionist didn't start work till 7 am but the FS started at about 5.30. So we just waited in his office and almost made it in but the receptionist then turned up and started going through our names and crossing them off the appt book. My DH just looked down at his magazine when she got to us (thanks DH!) and I just lied and said no we haven't got an appt but he (the FS) has seen us and it's fine. I swear I would have crash tackled this woman or pushed her out of the way to get to my FS's door if she proved problemmatic. It's amazing the protective instinct that kicks in when you're PG. DH obviously didn't have this feeling when he was hiding behind his magazine! Ha, ha.
hey lovies, all is good. He was wiggling around and HB was 171bpm. Measuring 2.5cms and 9w1d. So relieved :)
Oh jaki I'm soo relieved for you doll. Was thinking of ya at 4.30.....excellent, excellent news. good night sleep tonight now!!
AFM I decided to push through fatigue yesterday arvo and went to bed at 9pm and although I got up twice to pee, and woke a fair amount....no insomnia yeh! so sitting here feeling heavy lidded, must get up and do something to stay awake ;-)x
I'm feeling ya. I spoke to my doctor this morning about my insomnia and she suggested I listen to meditation music at bed time. I might see if I can find something on iTunes for my iPod. It's got to be better than going to sleep with the telly on ;)
Jaki- I'm so happy for you babe!! Such a relief!
I had a lot of trouble sleeping in the early weeks as well, not sure anything helped really, I started sleeping better about 11 weeks I think, usually only up once or twice now, the problem now is finding a comfy position!!
Jaki, just wanted to say how relieved and happy I am to hear that. I had spotting (pink at times) on and off for three weeks, it was horrific. And had lots of scans, and just such a relief to see bubs.
Sweetie, I am thinking of you and hope things have settled down now. All kinds of aches and pains in pregnancy. Let us know how it goes with your doc.
All the best to everyone,
WW
Hi girls! Well, I had my scan today and saw my wee raisen on the screen! So happy, everything ok. The dr said the spotting was prob due to the mix up of period dates with the IVF process. Long story... Basically I started my injections four days too early. Oh I had a friend recently had the pink spotting, and all good for her and twins on the way. Good to hear all ok for you Jaki. Regarding, the aches and pains, doc said just the body stretching, the joys of pregnancy huh?! All worth it. So I'm officially 6 weeks, and four days. The bub is .67 cm and HR 118bpm. So everyone, we must stop stressing and enjoy this time!
Hey sweetie - so pleased for you! that's 2 good results today. I go to bed a happy woman! slightly nauseaus, but happy ;-) x
Aww thanks Airline! Take care of yourself :-)
Jaki & Sweetie, good to hear you both got the answers we want to hear today (ie everything is fine!).
Hi to everyone else.
The weather's been not too bad so far (aside from a murky start to yesterday), but the spare room in my sister's house is freezing as usual. Long days, so very tired by the end. Trying to check in when I can though to keep up with everyone...
Woohoo, finally got my ticker working for my signature! nite nite all :x
Just wanted to say congrats to Jaki and Sweetie - I think far too many of us know EXACTLY how you feel, but are SO glad for you both that everything is fine with your little people. I hope you have a great nights sleep tonight as you both deserve :)
Hi to all the ladies in here, many of your stories have given me a giggle in the last few days, although I don't always have the chance to reply, thanks so much for sharing :)
AFM - Just laying low, my DH is having some major issues with his job which is causing as some major stress. It's been going on for a long time but recently came to a head (well actually when I was 5 weeks pregnant which wasn't great timing!). We have so many decisions to make which is taking too much headspace as it's not just as simple as trying to find another job (a bit too hard to explain!). I was just saying to my parents tonight I feel sorry for the little bub inside me as I haven't been able to be excited at all with all the stress, but I do feel really happy when I remember he's in there (I think I am having a wee little man). On a good note though, I have no more sickness and am actually feeling really good if not for the sleepless nights!
xxx
Great work sweetie, we are all very lucky duckies arent we! I have decided its time to relax and enjoy being pregnant instead of living in constant fear :)
Back to the ticker thing (lol) I have discovered if i just put in my EDD and not my period date i get the right days as per the dating scan and due date. But it doesnt line up with the EPU + two weeks, soooo is it cheating if i change it???
Jaki80 and Sweetie - WOOHOO! Sooo relieved that all is well for you both. Its such a stressful time isn't it, the early months, but I'm glad you've both decided to relax and enjoy the ride a bit more!
Congrats to Loula on the arrival of William!!!! Just seen the BA wahoo xxoo welcome little miracle bubba! Xxoo
Congratulations to Loula - can't agree more about welcoming William as a little miracle!
xxx
Congrats Loula!!!
A massive congratulations to Loula on the long-awaited arrival of William! :confetti:
Congratulations to Loula - wonderful news, and lovely name, William!
Sweetie, really glad to hear about your scan!
Lairdoz, work stress (own or partner's) is just awful. It can be all-consuming. I hope that the stress backs off a little and that you're getting support and your DH too, like counselling maybe (?) or that there is someone who can advocate and support your DH at his work. Sorry, I sound a bit too advice-giving. I used to work in a community legal centre advising employees on their rights. Glad your sickness is gone.
AFM, I'm fine, just working away at Uni stuff which is exhausting and trying not to worry too much about it. I think I've deflected all my usual worries about the baby onto Uni (which is better, by far). I don't know about others, but I hardly show. I'm quite short and slight. I kind of want to show, but then don't, becaue I hate shopping and don't want to have to buy new clothes. Right now, I just look a little tubby. Also, every now and then I get a sudden urge to vomit, and then it goes again really quickly. It's weird. Anyway, better than all day nausea, any day.
Hope everyone's well.
Thanks worrywort, I actually rang the government's fairwork hotline as well as the legal advice hotline here locally and neither can help as it is expected if you earn over $100k you are big enough to look after yourself so aren't covered by anyone from a legislation or advocate perspective. I actually rang a lawyer who pretty much told us there isn't much we can do without taking them to court which isn't going to help in this situation. My DH told me yesterday to just worry about our DD and the new baby - he agreed it was really unfair on me and our new miracle that I hardly thought about the pregnancy because of all the stress. There is way too much evidence that stress impacts the baby so I am trying to stay away from it!
I am quite slight and didn't show until I was about 20 weeks with my DD - I just ended up buying a few things the next size up rather than buying a whole new wardrobe?
Hope everyone is having a lovely day - it's a beautiful sunny day here :)
Hi Girls,
I have been away for a few days at a course and have alot of catching up to do (on bb and at home!).
Glad to hear that everything is ok for girls who had some bleeding. I was reading all the posts thinking I hope everything is ok and was glad to hear that it is. I am lucky I have not experienced this but can imagine it is terrifying.
Chrissy - on the hospital thing - I only really have one choice as that is the only hospital in town where you can have a baby. Fingers crossed the new one is finished.
On the popping out issue, with my first I didn't start showing until 14-16 weeks, but this time I popped out straight away. All those stomach muscles ain't what they used to be!
The course was very inspiring but slept terribly and thought I would come back all refreshed not having kids to look after but actually feeling really tired today. Good news is for me that the m/s is settling somewhat (although today I don't think the tiredness helps). We have decided to invite parents over for dinner on Saturday night to tell them, as I am getting too fat and they are sure to notice! Plus I actually feel ready to tell people now even though our first scan isn't for another 2 weeks. I think we will tell our kids first and then our DD can tell them which will make her feel very special and involved.
That's about it for me, take care everyone!
Yep, Lairdoz, unfortunately that's the case - that once your income is at a certain level, you are assumed to be able to negotiate for yourself, which doesn't recognise the inherent power imbalance with employer-employee, even at the highest levels... Anyway, glad that you're focusing on you and your DD and the new little one. As someone who is highly anxious (seriously!), I was surprised to find that you can actually just "learn" relaxation, just practise it every day (like with guided relaxation tapes or meditation or even just gentle stretching). I try to do this every day and those 30 minutes are just precious and really make a difference, even if I get caught up in other troubles throughout the day. Anyway, you prob have your own techniques ... Thanks for the reassurance also about showing/not showing. I will just be patient.
MaggiePie, glad your course went well and how exciting, telling your kids (and parents). You mean, your kids didn't know so far? That will be so cute, your DD telling her grannies!
Hi ladies, just a quick post as dinner is almost ready - I'm not cooking for once; DH is, yay!
Sweetie and Jaki, glad to hear that everything is well and your reassurance was seeing your babies and hearing their little heart beats. As I think Glenny said, too many of us have been where you guys have re bleeding and spotting and thankfully we still have our babies growing strong every day.
Lairdoz, sorry to hear you and DH have been under such stress with money issues. We are lucky in that both DH and I are in the public service, but we've got money issues with a huge mortgage and me being on reduced earnings the whole PG as I've not been able to work full time and was on bed rest for the first 13 weeks. Then there's maternity leave which only lasts so long and its back to reduced earnings as I will have to work part time, then there will be child-care costs when I go back to work. You're right to try not to stress as it's no good for babies and no good for mum! Take care, hey?
Congrats to Loula on the birth of William!
Maggie, that's a lovely idea telling your children and letting them tell others.
Hi to Juniper and all the other ladies!
Hi Ladies!
I'm so happy that all of you have finally become pregnant after waiting so long. I'm kind of not really meant to be in this thread given that i'm NOT pregnant but I was wanting to ask a really big favour of you guys? I am in my tww after my first IVF attempt and I'm really nervous (as I'm sure all you felt as well during your tww). I really want to get a realistic view about what my chances are of concieving in a few ivf cycles. I know that its really unlikely to happen the first time (but I'm fantasising about it anyway).
I have some questions that I woul really REALLY appreciate you answering if you get a spare few minutes. I'm sorry there are so many but I'm sick of going from website to website typing in the questions individually as its really time consuming. Feel free to copy and paste them to make answering them easier. Thank you so much ladies, I really appreciate this!

Hi ladies,
Congrats Loula on the birth of William, hope you are both doing well.
Glad to hear that everyones scans are great and that any worries some of you have had all worked out for the best.
Hi to everyone!
I have been MIA for awhile have had a heap on. My grandad is still the same and work has been crazy. I feel absoluetly exahusted (both mentally and emotionally). I finally have a day off today so am going to relax, but i can feel a cold coming on now:wall:I can't win at the moment. On a positive note bub is going nuts down there!!! DH felt his first kick last night and i couldn't wipe the smile off his face, so cute!!!
Hi girls,
DS has so kindly given me his latest illness. Supposed to be at work but didn't think people would appreciate me coughing and sneezing all over the place.
Hi Marie, hope you will be joining us on this thread soon. Sorry I can't really answer your questions as I didn't do IVF.
Worrywart, we haven't told kids yet as DD the oldest is only 4 and doesn't really get the concept of keeping a secret. She will say 'I'm not supposed to tell you that ....' so we wanted to wait until we were ready for the whole world to know before she found out. We have talked about being 'pregnant' in front of her but I don't think she knows that word in association with having a baby.
Renee, thinking of you and your granddad. Hope you can find some time to relax your body and mind, and that this helps the cold to go away. Very exciting that your DH felt a kick, it's a really special time when they can share the joy like that.
Lairdoz, hope the financial stress settles for you. I would have to admit that having kids makes you poor! It's a fine line between staying at home, working, child care fees etc etc etc. Then theres all the other stuff like swimming lessons, dancing lessons, Drs visits ... it just goes on. But believe me you do somehow manage your finances (don't ask me how) but you seem to do less travelling (eg I'll just go stay with friends for the weekend no longer happens on a whim). Try not to worry about it as really unless there is something you can do right now it is one of those things that will always be there. Maybe a financial advisor could help you put it all in perspective.
Well am going to have a nap. DS kept me up half the night little ratbag!
Oh and Renee, DH has nicknamed the baby 'Midget' not very pc I know but can you add that to the list next time? ie "It's a Midget' Thanks.
congrats to Loula on William!!!
Hey Marie - hope this helps, and good luck with your 2ww. I'll pop in and see how you're going some time. There are sooooo many different scenarios though, what I would take away the most from reading about everyone's experiences, is that when you are almost convinced that AF is on her wicked way.....wait and see, because the symptoms for her and a BFP are often sooo similiar.
Age of mother at time of conception: 35
How many fresh or frozen cycles did it take? 3 x stim IVF and 2 x FET - this BFP was 2nd FET using last frozen embie
How many cells was the embryo at the time of transfer? 4 ... I think. They thawed one, it did well overnight then stopped morning of transfer so they thawed another and transferred both, so 2nd one had no 'history' and
we don't know which one 'took'.
What was the problem (unexplained, endo etc) Hubby low sperm/slightly abnormal
Did you use natural alternatives such as acupuncture as well ivf? Acupuncture once a week
Did you experience any pregnancy symptoms during the tww? Is so, how soon did you feel them? sensitive nipples (i don't get sore boobs at AF time), cramping and twinges (just like AF symptoms!)
How many eggs did you get at retrieval and how many fertilised? My memory's shot, but I think it was 5 eggs first time 5 the second, and 9 the third. 3 embies first, 3 second and only 1 the third. (that was sad)
How many embryos did you get to freeze? we popped one in and froze 2 the first time, and the same the second time. The 3rd time we just used the one emby we got.
Renee, sorry to hear about your grandad. How exciting that DH felt bubba kick!!!! Can't wait for that myself.
AFM - still nauseas still tired. still enjoying oranges more than normal. really looking forward to feeling myself again. x
Thank you so much for your reply, airline. I really appreciate having this info. I know everyone is different but I just love hearing that people do actually fall pregnant from less than say 4 cycles. It gives me so much hope!! Thank you again.
Marie - there is a thread called 'Success Stories' under the general LTTTC thread if you haven't read it before is full of fabulous happy stories, I highly recommend reading it!
Congrats to Loula, hope you're enjoying amazing baby snuggles.
Hello to everyone, hope you're all going well, so nice to see so many new faces in the thread.
Finn is now 7 weeks old, I can't believe how fast the time has gone. I know when I was pregnant it often felt like time was DRAGGING along but looking back it's over a
year since I started IVF and it feels like yesterday I was giving myself that first injection...
Anyway, belly rubs to all xx
Thank you! I will read the success stories right now!
Marie-
Good luck with your TWW honey, It's a stressful time. Here are my answers...
Age of mother at time of conception: 31
How many fresh or frozen cycles did it take? We got pregnant on our first fresh cycle (it DOES happen!!)
How many cells was the embryo at the time of transfer? Not sure but it was a 3 day embryo
What was the problem (unexplained, endo etc) I have PCOS as well as Endo, One of my tubes is blocked as well.
Did you use natural alternatives such as acupuncture as well ivf? Acupuncture once a week, herbal teas etc.
Did you experience any pregnancy symptoms during the tww? Is so, how soon did you feel them? Not at all, in fact I was convinced it hadn't worked. I was very sick with food poisoning during the pickup and transfer and we thought there was no way.
How many eggs did you get at retrieval and how many fertilised? We only got two eggs (sad) luckily both of them fertilised, we transferred one.
How many embryos did you get to freeze? We have frozen the other embryo
Hope that helped.. I think the best thing you can do is try and think positive. Rest and relax as much as you can! Good luck!!!
Hi marie, good luck with your 2ww, I hope you can join us soon. When is your BT? I will pm you my story when I get up. Right now I am laying in bed on my iPhone ;)
afm- I learned a painful lesson this morning! Do not hold in your pee all night!!! Omg when I finally went I got the worst belly ache and back ache (around the right kidney). I've never been in so much pain. Won't do that again!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
Hi ladies
Some of you may remember me from other threads, I have been a little MIA of late. My ICSI cycle was in March and we had to do a freeze all as I got 23 eggs. I have just got the BT results from my FET and its a :bfp: I'm so shocked that it has finally worked, but so happy.
So I thought I might join in if I could? My due date atm is 7 May 11 (my mum's birthday).
Marie, hope this helps you :)
Age of mother at time of conception: 29
How many fresh or frozen cycles did it take? one frozen cycle (no fresh - IVF was a freeze-all)
How many cells was the embryo at the time of transfer? can't remember but 5d blastie and embryologist said it was doing all the right things after thawing
What was the problem (unexplained, endo etc) me - PCOS, him - ASA
Did you use natural alternatives such as acupuncture as well ivf? had all good intentions to, but no
Did you experience any pregnancy symptoms during the tww? Is so, how soon did you feel them? only sensitive nipples which I put down to the meds, I was also feeling crampy for several days prior to the BT which made me think it hadn't worked and AF was on the way. Apparently its the uterus strecthing?
How many eggs did you get at retrieval and how many fertilised? 23 eggs, I think 17 fertilised initially and then we got 8 blasties to freeze, some were 5day and some 6day, I think we have three "quality types" - normal fertilisation - 5d, normal fertilisation 6d and slow fertilisation 6d
How many embryos did you get to freeze? 8
I hope that helps!
I just thought I would introduce myself to rhose of you who don't know me and I look forward to being in a pregnancy thread!
Welcome mellybelly! So happy to see a newbie :)
Actually i think i'll post this here, i find it interesting to get to read each others experiences.
Questions:
Age of mother at time of conception: 29
How many fresh or frozen cycles did it take? 3 fresh PGD IVF stim cycles, 1st- no transfer. 2nd bio chem pg. 3rd BFP
How many cells was the embryo at the time of transfer? blastie
What was the problem (unexplained, endo etc) hubby
Did you use natural alternatives such as acupuncture as well ivf? no, not available where i live
Did you experience any pregnancy symptoms during the tww? Is so, how soon did you feel them? in 2nd week, sore boobs and nips and i was very crampy. I thought it was AF coming but then the giveaway was my boobs got veiny toward the end
How many eggs did you get at retrieval and how many fertilised? 15 eggs, 13 fert.
How many embryos did you get to freeze? 5 blasties, 1 was damaged by the scientist after PGD testing
My experience is a little different having had PGD IVF, it can take longer due to embryo loss.
I'd like to say also that everyone i know 'personally' that has had ivf have fallen first time :)
Good luck Marie
Congratulations MellyBelly! Great news.
Renee, sorry to hear about your grandpa. Exciting about bubs kicking!
MaggiePie, yes, I guess a four-year old probably might not keep a secret too well eh? Though I'm 33 and I can't really either! Not much changes. Looking forward to hearing about the big reveal.
Lise, it does sound amazing, how time can fly once the little one arrives. It feels like an eternity for me (just waiting to feel a kick or something, or to show - though I should try to be more patient). Finn, that's a lovely name. I have friends with a little boy called Finn (and they're expecting another soon).
Marie, I'm just wishing you all the best of luck. You can see from my sig what my story is pretty much. And it's probably not really what you want to read right now. I mean, when I was doing IUI/IVF cycles, I just wanted the specific success story which would most closely match me, ie IVF success. I know one couple who fell first round of IVF though and one who fell on about 5th round, and one who is still going after many years. But YOU are YOU. You're different. Best of luck for right now!!! Btw I think acupuncture with a well-regarded practitioner is definitely a good idea, plus (bc of my experience) I think a laparoscopy is a good idea if you're "unexplained" and your partner's tests are normal, because endo can have no symptoms or only minor and I reckon it does affect fertility (and endo can only properly be assessed with a lap).
AFM, working at computer on Uni assignments, but getting distracted! All I can think about is feeling the baby (which I haven't yet). I don't know what came over me. I know it can be 20 or 22 or even 24 weeks before I feel a thing. Patience is a virtue, I guess .. not possessed by me!
Hi Guys
Hope you dont mind me jumping in on your thread!!!! I usually hang out in the LTTC with Clomid/Metformin thread but I wanted to ask a question....
Did any of you get a BFN close to or even after your AF due date that turned out to be a false negative????
The reason I ask is I am CD34, 13 DPO (approx) on my first cycle of clomid (100mg). I know I ovulated (bad pains, positive OPKs for three days), I had two mature follicles on my right ovary (according to scan)....I first felt some cramping and twinges a week ago. For the past three days the cramping has increased. I have been feeling a little queasy at times (but I am prepared to put that down to pregancy hypochondria!!). Tired but not especially. Boobs sore, but not especially. Have done three HPT in the last week (the last one half an hour or so ago) All BFNs. Wondering if I may still be pregnant?????
Not exactly sure when AF is due. I have PCOS, adenomyosis and endometriosis and my cycle is usually about 45 days or so. I dont know how this will change with clomid given this is my first cycle.
Any thoughts would be most welcome!
thanks :D
n2l
PS CONGRATS to you all on your long awaited BFPs!!!! I hope to join you soon!!!
You ladies are so lovely! Thank you so much for sharing your personal information with me. I'm positive that I'm going to have a baby one day. It might not be this cycle but I'm not going to stop until it does happen.
Thanks again and congratulations for finally making it. I got really excited snooping through all your conversations from the thread. How amazing it must feel for it to be actually happening (having a baby growing inside you). I hope the rest of your pregnancies go smoothly. I believe that all of us LTTTC's have a lot of strength built up in us from years of stress and let downs, that child birth is just one more little hurdle.
Your babies are so incredibly lucky to have parents that have fought right to the end to bring them into this world. They are going to know every second of every day, just how much you love them. I guess dreams and miracles do come true...
