Hopefully this little one is a stayer and it will make it all worthwhile. I don't know how you manage to go back again and again after miscarriages. I think after 1 or 2 I'd cope but any more than that and I don't think I could handle it at all.
Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you. How far along are you now and at what stage did you lose the others? When do you think you'll start to feel more positive about this one?
Best wishes
Lori
Due 29th Aug after 4 years on this journey but this is my only successful conception.
Yogi, congrats on the BFP! It's great to see you back here! I hope this is the stickiest of sticky beans you've got there!
Possums, that timing sounds great! I had m/s until 13wks, then had some heartburn straight after which it took me a while to get under control, then I was exhausted from 16-20wks. I felt pretty good between 20-30wks.
yogi- congratulations!!! wonderful to see you in here...I think we overlapped briefly in the TWW. I know exactly what you mean about day at a time...4th pregnancy for me, and mine all started out just fine, good levels, heartbeat in early scans etc (obviously the ectopic is an exception to that). I am trying to remind myself this is a different, brand new pregnancy, with every chance of going right, and continuing to go right! I hope it's the case for us both.
I know too about the blood tests causing stress. I am thinking maybe tomorrows will be my last one (unless they want to check progesterone) and then I will wait for the scan...because looking at HCG charts is stressful. Do you have any idea what has caused your previous losses? I think having some answers has helped me this time.
Possums, I know others have replied as well, but I highly recommend the 23 week stage for a holiday. We did an overseas trip at this stage with my DD, did six flights and was absolutely fine. It also means you have done your week 18/19 scan so can relax knowing everything is on track (as it will be)
Yogi - so great to see you in here. I have to admit that it's been obvious to me that there haven't been anywhere near enough BFP's since my own in June in the LTTC forums I spent so long in. I completely understand the caution, but I am really hopeful for you that this is your new baby snuggling in for a long and healthy stay!
welcome welcome to all the newbies!!! Only recently it was commented that there hadn't been many new arrivals, and now we have an influx...yeh!! Good luck to everyone for a H&H pregnancy.
Possums I know you've probably made a decision based on other comments, but my tuppence is that I think it's a good time too. I went for a few days to Port Douglas around that time and it was great. We didn't book anything till closer to the time as my nausea lasted 9 weeks, and I was worrying it was going to continue for much longer, and going away would've been pointless.
Regarding the 'list' I would happily take over from Renee but I'm not not on here enough these days, I check in and do a quick catch up but don't stay on for hours like in days gone by I'm afraid. As someone else said, maybe a newbie would like to update the 'due date/arrivals list'.
My latest symptom are some varicose veins up in my groin area, where your leg creases.....not happy Jan! Yes I know it's all worth it...but I got a bit of a shock!! Can't see 'em when I look down (can't see much ;-) ) but looked in the mirror and there they were.
Had some wierd dreams last night, dreamt my 'newborn' could walk...dreamt he was dressed as a 'she' by the hospital.....wierd.
For those of you who were chatting about Dexter...we just finished the Trinity killer series - series 4 I think. Great!!! The ending took me by surprise..(didn't sleep well that night either!!) Gotta start the last series now.
Possums- how did the BT go? Hope you got great levels.
Hi and welcome Yogi, I think I also slightly overlapped with you in LTTTC TWW and I really hope this is your sticky.
Airline- my DH loves Dexter, so I might tell him abouit the Trinity ones. Second thoughts maybe I'll get them for his birthday next week! Bugger about the varicose veins, one of my friends just had hers fixed after her 2nd and last pregnancy. She said the same, they just popped up one day!
Possum- I would agree with travelling between 20-30w, I felt the best then with DS. After that I was starting to get too big to get much done!
I am not good at keeping track of everyone who is on! I am so bamboozled! Hi to everyone!
AFM: I just got my 2nd lot of BT results and they have risen from 227 to 389 in 24 hours so I was super happy with that. Progestrone was 65, not that I know what it should be but she said that was good?! I'm not going to have any more BT either, just scan at 7 weeks and hopefully see a heartbeat! This is the furtherest I've managed to get into a pg without things starting to look iffy so I'm quite excited, although still very nervous.
I'm taking DH off the GOld Class movies to celebrate! Have a great day!
thanks everyone for the advice- it's great to hear your thoughts.
bec- woohooo- great news... you have to celebrate all the milestones i think. My clinic likes progesterone to be over 30, so looking good. mine is very high this time...at last test it was 550, much higher than in previous pregnancies.
afm- just had BT this morning, results in around lunchtime. pretty nervous. also very tired and feel a bit off, which i hope are good signs!
Thanks Bec. Ha ha I'm exactly the same with the hpts!!! praying that the line is still there and darker than before. Are we both crazy or is that normal??!!
G'day ladies, and big thanks to you all for your lovely welcomes!! Must admit its nice to be back here again, but i'm still nervous about it at the same time
Renee - thinking of you and cant wait to hear of your bubs safe arrival. Not long now, hang in there xx
Possums - great results!! now you can relax a little. AHHh such a nerve-wracking time, i wish i could just sleep till after the 12 week scan!! I'm also feeling very bloated lately, but i'm also on prednisolone and that can make you "puff-up" a bit. I think i'm meant to stay on it til 12 weeks so god knows what i'll look like then, probably look ready to give birth!!
dreamrise - I dont have any children yet but i can imagine that protective feeling. I think if this bub does make it, after the journey to finally have them, i wont let them out of my sight!!! Just means you are a loving mother and certainly DOESN'T mean you are only meant to have just one child.
To answer your questions about my previous m/c i'll be brief cause i dont really want to talk about it on a pregnancy thread...but just to give you my history. 1st m/c was a blighted ovum, no bub or heartbeat seen at 7 weeks scan & i had D&C at 9 weeks, 2nd was a missed m/c saw good h/b at 7 wks then decided to have no more scans til 13 wks, but started bleeding 2 days before 13wk scan & was in hospital for 2 nights as i had an infection cause bub had passed away at about 8 weeks. 3rd m/c was early at 5 wks and last one in aug had good h/b at 7 weeks, then wanted weekly scans (after the last missed m/c) but at 8 wks no h/b & in hospital again for D&C.
....needless to say i'm very very cautious & nervous about this one!! its really hard to trust my body. But in saying that i also feel that my body "wants" to be pregnant, i've done 4 ivf cycles in the last 2 years and have fallen pg each time...so i guess something is trying really hard. This is what has kept me going i think, knowing that i CAN fall pg relatively easily (well, "easy" in the ivf world) i just keep thinking "surely we have to be lucky eventually"!! Also i'm on all the drugs & goodies possible to help things along so i think if it still doesnt work this time then there is nothing else to try...this is it!!
I'm 5 wks today. Haven't booked my scan yet...thats how unconfident i am! i even did another HPT this afternoon just to make sure the line was still there...of course its really dark and no indication of how levels are going but its just that silly voice that doubts that a pregnancy can actually happen. i will always now marvel at the miracle of life, how a little baby can grow from just a few cells....its a bl00dy HUGE job, i just hope I can really do a good job this time
Sorry for the blab there...thats me anyway, i'm hoping you kind ladies here can help keep me reasonably sane over the coming weeks...i hope i dont drive you all crazy with my worrying!!
My heart goes out to you Yogi Bear, all of my m/c have been early, and that's been hard enough. I REALLy hope your little bean is a sticky. I'm 5 weeks tomorrow, so we are close together in due dates!
Has anyone else who's newly pg been POAS constantly? I think I'm obsessed. I just keep doing it every day delighting in the line getting darker! Oh dear, that looks worse now I've typed it! I have them all lined up so I can see my progress!
