Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Thanks for asking MM. I am ok. I saw my GP yesterday and all is going well apparently :) The exhaustion has not lifted. Probably not helped by the fact I am working a week straight at present and we all have head colds. I discovered I need surgery but they wont operate until after bub is born. I have a hernia that is starting to give me a lot of grief now bub is getting bigger and squashing the insides.
I am worried I am basically not getting any movements at all. I was getting them weeks ago but now nothing. I am almost 17weeks and bub is probably measuring a lot bigger then that so I am confused and keep thinking the worst. Even with the Doppler I can't hear it move like I use to. I am just finding the whole thing very stressful. Maybe after the morphology scan I will feel better. I also feel guilty for feeling this way as this bub wasn't exactly hard to make. We didn't try at all so I don't know why I am so anxious and hating the experience. The fear of the unknown is awful and I already want it out (full term of course) so I can see it its ok. I hate not been able to enjoy this out of fear its too good to be true.
I see the Ob the day before the morphology scan. He maybe able to give me a sneak peak and reassure me there is nothing major going on. Its still 2weeks away however.
Anyway how are you going? How is the GD? It mustn't be too long now before your due? Do you think this bub will come early?
Jbm I am praying its a strong BFP when you get your official results. If so are you hoping for 1 baby or 2? I would have loved twins years ago (not now with 4 already) but would have found the pregnancy very very tough and with my history I'd probably have them premature. I did conceive twins years ago but neither made it.

Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Mildez-as you know the actual position of the baby /placenta can make a huge difference to movements,I think sometimes to different babies are more active ,,my eldest was a bit of a lazy baby ,at 24 she can still be a bit of a lazy bum ,lol..with working and other kids as well ,maybe your not feeling much as your not sitting /laying down much ...the gd levels are going up and down ,,diabetic nurse going to make the call on Monday whether I go on insulin,,I'm due 1st of may but dr has already said that he doesn't want be to go over time ,,1st is a Sunday so I'm thinking they mightn't want inductions on the weekend ,so I'm thinking she might be an April bub ,just,,on fortnightly apps with obs ,so as he said countdown began
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
So thrilled to see your ticker JBM. How are things going? When is your head count scheduled for?
MM how are you going? I would be thinking bub will be an April baby too. How exciting not to much longer. I am now having the very occasional movement. Nothing today but I felt him/her a few times yesterday at work.
My morphology scan is next week. Just want it over and done with. It always makes me really nervous something will be wrong. I have had an absolutely terrible 12months with things outside my control. I just don't think I can cope with anything not going right. Hopefully the end of next week I will be able to relax a little more an not be so anxious. Not sure if I will find out the gender.

Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
mildez-yay for movements ,they are reassuring ,,someone told me the other day a bath used to get her babies moving when they were having a quiet period ,im having a fair bit of ligament /muscle pain so im not going to try it ,if i got into a bath ,might have trouble getting out at the moment
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Yes getting out would be hard. We have a shower in the bath. It's a right pain as the only way to shower too.
How is everyone?
I see the Ob tomorrow.
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Mildez -how did today go ? Afm -still having some spikes in my sugar levels ,they've tried few things with the diet so they are going to show me how to do the insulin shots ,in preparation if dr wants me to go on them ,see him next Wednesday ,,Monday have a growth scan ,saw ob yesterday which went well

Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
My appointment went ok although I am devastated he told me the gender after telling him I didn't want to know. My husband was planning to find out and do a gender reveal (I don't know what that was) to me. I was so upset and I can't bring myself to let him know I know although it wasn't my fault. Now I am going to have to act all surprised when he tells me, I'm just so disappointed to have found out the way I did. It was so impersonal as I was walking out the door at the end of my appointment. The way he put it there is absolutely no way it was just a term he uses for every baby.
Apart from the I have to start on thyroxine and irodine.
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Glad things went ok,,even though the gender reveal didnt work out how it was planned ,the thought from your husband will still me there ,,if he is anything like mine it will go over his head that you already know..what is thyroxine used for ?..afm getting a lot of the skin conditions this pregnancy which I haven't had before ,brown pigmentation ,red spots and skin tags ,,maybe an age thing lol
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
The thyroxine is used for my thyroid problem: it's improving so I was surprised they wanted to treat me when at its worst they didn't.
Scan today went well. Well as far as I could tell it did and the sonographer said everything but one thing was perfect. Hope she knows what she is talking about. The cord insertion is in the side so that's a little bit of a worry. From my experience it's mostly labour it can pose a problem or induction. I hope not and hopefully I'll know more when i get my results in a few weeks time.
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Good scan went well,I've got one on Monday ,31 weeks ,haven't had one at that later stage so I'm thinking will be able to see her really clearly
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
How did your scan go? Are the older kids excited?
We only just told our kids. They are happy. Not too much longer now for you. How is the diabetes going? I have my test in another 5weeks but I am thinking of doing it sooner.
Not much to report. Looking forward up hitting the 20week mark. I guess then my next big milestone will be 24weeks :)
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Sorry haven't answered you, have had trouble logging in ...scan went well ,measurement spot on ,except stomach measurement was less than average but still in the healthy range ,,she must get that from her dad ,long time since my stomach measured under average ,pregnant or not ,lol...got another scan at 36 weeks ,,diabetic dr 50 /50 about insulin so see him again next week and he is going to reaccess it ,,yeah kids are excited ,they're bringing home little things for her when they go to the shops ,cute of them ...are you telling the kids the gender ?my ds1 was hoping for a boy ,think that's got bit to do with Matthew though ,,he got over it really quick though after I told him baby was a girl,,are you still working ?
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
I have had trouble logging in too.
No we are not telling the kids the gender (or anyone else). We want to keep some surprises.
As for work I'm working up until I am 38weeks. Hoping Bub arrives around then. 3 of my 4 have spontaneously and the only one that didn't had placental issues (it was packing it in at 39wks) He was growth restricted and I started haemorrhaging. Fingers crossed to avoid that this time.
Sounds like your in good hands with regular appointments :)
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Be a nice surprise for them ,,I was going to work upto 38 weeks with my first ,couldn't work my 2 weeks notice as baby came at 36 weeks ,,yeah lots of appointments ,reached my Medicare safety net threshold already for the year.,noticed your ticker ,,half way point yay
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Yes it will be a nice surprise for them. They want us to find out :)
I don't know if 38weeks is pushing it. I do have sick leave I can take and possibly the opportunity to do shorter days that last week or 2. Its going to be a struggle but I feel I need to attempt to keep going for financial reasons and my job isn't terribly physical.
About half way now. I just weighed myself and was disappointed I have put on quiet a bit of weight in the last few weeks. I guess there is no point worrying about it now.
How are you going?
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
I haven't weighed myself, but my 10 year old last night was saying ,think belles getting big in there, lol,,,getting a fair bit of ligament pain ,the old bones are protesting ,,stopped me in my tracks at the shops yesterday ,had to just stand still for a while ,then i was able to make it back to the car ,couldn't get up my front steps ,,good it's flatter around the side of the house, after I laid down for a bit it eased,,,money is a pain ,don't think I'm going to be able to finish house renovations before baby is born ,money is just not going to be there ,but might be able to get inside at least finished..good there is a plan b to do shorter days or take sick leave if it gets too much for you
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Ouch. Those ligament pains don't sound pleasant. Age definitely catches us doesn't it? I certainly have a few more struggles with this one then my 1st (who is pushing 16).
Yes I am having some issues with money. Only because my pay has been incorrect for the last 6weeks. I am down over $500 a fortnight due to pay errors so its money I have earned and have expected but it hasn't arrived. Very disappointing when I was told it was all fixed up and again its the 3rd fortnight pay where I haven't received my back pay for the missed pays or the correct pay for the shifts I have already done. So frustrating.
Not much to report with the pregnancy. I saw my GP yesterday. I don't see the Ob for another 4-5weeks (shared care). I have to have that glucose test somewhere in the next few weeks. Still hardly getting movements. But with the Doppler yesterday you could hear all the movements I just couldn't feel them.
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Probably just positioning of something then ,,doppler is reassuring ,I didn't get one thought I'd stress myself out too much with it...hope your pay gets sorted soon ,,afm ,I'm on insulin ,small doses ,one before tea and one at bedtime,,dr said sometimes towards end of pregnancy diet just isn't enough
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
How are you going MM? You must be so close now. Was it April you were having your little girl? Are they inducing you?
AFM nothing to report. Almost 24weeks just hanging out to hit that milestone. I have had a lot of trouble logging in.
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Hi ,dr is saying at the moment induction around 38 weeks if havent gone into labour before then, which puts me around the 20th April ,depending I suppose on what day he does his inductions,,I've got the 36 week scan on Monday ,then drs app on Tuesday ,and app to try to express milk for freezing on Wednesday ,then councilling app on Thursday who I've been seeing since my mum died,,the induction at the moment seems to be more of a precaution ...I've been having trouble logging in too..did your Glocuse test come back ok ?you still hanging in there at work?my dh is panicking a bit as our car has broken down and mechanic is actually not to sure whats wrong with it ,he is panicking about me getting to the hospital ,,I said suppose ill have to catch a taxi ,not sure if they take you in labour though ?and he said might take a while for them to get here and I said well I'm not expecting that quick of a labour ,,he is outside at the moment talking to neighbours, probably seeing which ones can be on call,,lol, suppose if contractions are very close ,there is always the ambulance

Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Thanks mildez, saw dr today and she had gotten herself in a sideways position ,he was able to turn her to head down position but said he didn't know how long she would stay in the right position ,,then he sent me up to hospital for a ctg ,which showed her heart rate being good,,see him again on Thursday and he will check her position and talking induction on Friday ,,he also said my cervix is a little opened
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Saw dr yesterday and she has stayed head down ,,but dr would like my cervix to be more favourable before inducing me so it's been postponed to Monday night ,,,had another ctg today and midwives were pleased with results....how is everyone else ?
-

Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Thought id update. My DS arrived last week via emergency lscs following a failed ECV.
Abit of a shock seeing as l havent needed a c/s before. All is going ok.
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Wow. Congrats Mildez! I hope you're ok and wishing you a speedy recovery. How much did DS2 weigh?
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
He was 3660grams (8lb1oz) HC 38cm L 54cm. Born at 37+3. We had such high hopes of the ECV working but unfortunately it didn't. The pain was quiet excruciating. From others experience very very few found it painful from what I had heard. I am not sure if that was because I have some abdominal issues (adhesions and a hernia) and I was so anxious about the procedure. It was never going to work apparently as he was on an extremely short leash (very short cord). The Ob doing the c/s had trouble getting his head to descend during the delivery because he was tied in so well. The placenta was fundal so as far away from the exit as possible. I hated every part of his birth but he is healthy and well as am I and at the end of the day that's all that really matters. We have been very blessed.
-
Re: Pregnancy after LT TTC #21
Blimey. I'm sorry you had to go through all that. Glad you and Bub are doing ok now though.
