London Miss.. Sorry hun but It surprises me that any of that is a shock to you lol.. There is some sort of animal product and cruelty in just about 99 percent of anything you can possibly buy.. And Im not just taliking about cows milk etc.. I mean dead animal..
There are hardly any cheeses around that DONT have animal rennet in them which I believe is calf stomach lining... Most capsules of any type of tablet are made with some sort of killed animal also.. And thats not even delving into the tested on animals side to things.. Try to look for a flaxeed oil suppliment for omega 3 and on any tablet packet you get make sure it says on the bottle that the capsules are made with vegetable gum otherwise I can almost garuntee your not using a vegetarian product..

anyway I have to put in my 2 cents about bottles also but my son is wakeing up and lol im outta time!! BBL

    Belly rubs too all!!!! <3

Oh hes gone back to sleep hehe..

Its been a while since I researched into BPA plastics and other cancer causing plastics found in bottles, containers etc etc etc... but what we did come up with I remember having an icky feeling about it all...

Basically all I remember is that we decided to stay away from all plastic bottles all together.. And this time we're going with boobs or glass bottles haha.. and no microwave heating.. But if I were to reccomend a plastic I would say definatley go for a BPA free bottles id probably go with AVENT as a big brand name its probably more to be trusted.. and DO NOT buy the 2 dollar made in china no name bottles..

I have to admit I too found it really impossible to express in the early days any way.. And ended up just sticking to the boob so I could get some sleep.. But hey if it works for you then I would definately give it a go probably beats having bub on the breast every single time if you can still get some sleep in! Good luck anyway.. )

Im killing my brain today just trying to learn my next few chemistry lessons and pre algebra exponants.. But I used study procrastination to my advantage and "nest" cleaned the entire house in and out hehehe.. And when hubby gets home in about 30 minutes Im going to pop furbaby in a leash and go on a brisk walk as im feeling guilty about the last couple of weeks binge on pizza, chocolate, cookies, cordial, Etc etc you name it ive done it oops LOL.. But im going to stop now I swear (seeing as Ive reached my 40 week weight mark with DS) eep..

Hope everyone is feeling ok BOC thinking of you and your not so yummy hospital food! Hope you can come home soon!

    Hello lovelies!

Just a quick one to let you all know I came home today YAY! . They've put me on blood pressure Meds and so far they're working. Got a scan & appt with Ob next week.

Hoping to get my laptop fixed in the next few days so I can do full persies and put my bit in about bottles from what we've been told in some classes.

Thank you all for thinking of me. Catch up with you soon!

ha ha Kyra yes you have a point! My biggest issue is not that the companies use animal products (revolting though it is), it's that the hospital dietician could recommend three products that aren't vegetarian for a vegetarian issue! It's pretty dumbarse really. Eventually she's found one that I can take.

I've heard the same thing about plastic bottles and have looked at glass ones. BOC - home - wo hoo! Hope you are all sorted now and everythings fine.

Yep, Kyra is right. Soooo many things that you wouldnt expect have animal products in them. Toothpaste, alot of make-up, even the Anti-D injection!

I have been looking everywhere for glass bottles, any ideas where to find them gals?

just thought id pop in for a quick post seeing as I have some spare time before I have to run off again..

BOC so glad to hear you are home! I really hope the next few weeks go fast and without drama for you..

Im really tired today... Cant seem to focus on anything so I havnt even bothered to try and study.. I had my GF and her Nephew come around earlier to get some photography done and I really didnt put the effort I usually do into it.. I just couldnt get myself motivated.. I have to head off to another GFS for dinner later tonight then pick up Hubby from work at 9 (We got our car back yay)

Im massive! My MIL FIL and GMIL (grandma in law lol) all asked me if im sure im not having twins the other day.. My bellys been so strange.. At the beginnning it popped out really early.. then towards the middle it slowed right down and the docs were wryd I was too small.. then I just shot right out and Now im absulutely huge! And wouldnt be surprised If I had triplets, cuz it looks as though i have one in each of my thighs as well as in thebelly! lol.

Cant believe bubs still 9 weeks away.. Im over it now.. and I got some pics of me and hubby together yesterday and thought to myself.. wow what a heffer!

hope all is well... pop in again soon <3 Ky

Thanks for the advice re bottles ladies, I must admit I probably didn't really think through the logistics of expressing and breastfeeding a tiny one who feeds all day poppy fairy, so thanks for your honest opinion! Janie, I like the sound of DH feeding one formula feed, I might pm you if that's okay for more info...!

BOC - so glad you're home, you must be so relieved!! I hope you're looking after yourself so you can avoid any further unwanted excursions And looking forward to hearing your bottle tips and the info you learnt in classes.

kyra - only 9 weeks to go, wow, doesn't sound like long when you say it like that does it!! You'll have to put a belly pic up, I want to see!!

londonmiss- hope your new tablets are going okay. I must admit, I really struggled when I was vegetarian finding suitable foods/products sometimes. Although I didn't really want to go back to eating meat (had to for health reasons) it did make it so much easier.

AFM - still getting over my sinus infection. Had to go off my antibiotics as they, for the first time ever, and I assume due to the chicklet, gave me nasty diarrhoea and cramps! Other than that, just plodding along nicely. I must have had a belly growth spurt this week as everyone has commented on my tummy as soon as they see me. It's kind of nice to finally be looking really pregnant, as in absolutely for sure not just tubby, but it is starting to make it harder to get in and out of the car etc...!! Hehehe, can't have it both ways I guess

Anyway lovely ladies, hope you're all well and enjoying a lovely Saturday morning xx

Hi all you lovely mummies to be,

Lise, Just thought I would pop in and add my thoughts to BF and expressing, I think it really depends on your supply. I started expressing in hospital, mostly because my girls were on the little side, and had a period of tube feeding, then switched to bottle feeding them expressed milk with a fast flow teat to get the milk into them as quick as possible to help them gain weight. Once they did I have slowly changed over to BF, adding an extra BF each day, now I am almost exclusively BF both (tandem style ) with one bottle feed a night (at about 2.30) of expressed milk. It is slightly quicker for me to bottle feed them singly then express, rather than BF (and a bit easier rather than trying to juggle two). I also then know how much they are getting and they are then sleeping until 7am. I express at that feed, and also 2 other times in the morning. I am super conscious of making sure that I keep up my supply, especially with having two, and also making sure I can accommodate growth spurts. So it can be done .

I know this has been mention before, but I would highly recommend the book Save Our Sleep by Tizzie Hall. I really found that after leaving hospital I was struggling for more of a routine than just 3 hourly feeds, and was previously feeding at 10pm, 1am, 4am and 7am, I am now doing a 9.30pm feed, they sleep until 2-2.30 am, and then sleep again until 7am, and it is working really well.

    Belly rubs to all xx

BDT - Glad to hear your beautiful little girls are going well. You are the second person to recommend Save Our Sleep. I will definitely have to give it a read. If anyone else is interested I saw it at BigW the other day.

BOC - glad to hear you got to go home... you must be so relieved to have your personal space again.

Kyra - wow 9 weeks! Not long now. The first few months seem to go so slow before things have really picked up pace... I can't believe we only have 18 weeks to go!

Lise - I hope you are enjoying your quiet weekend and feeling a bit better. Oh and back to your earlier question I had the anti D shot in my bum. I think it hurts due to the volume of liquid they inject. They do it slowly though. It wasn't really painful, more uncomfortable and unpleasant, and then for the rest of the afternoon that area was a bit tender.

I felt the baby kick yesterday and so did DH. We were having a cuddle yesterday morning just before we got up and DH happened to have his hand resting right over snuggles who gave half a dozen little kicks! It was amazing... the first real kick that I was 100% sure that it was the baby and I wasn't imagining it... I was like did you feel that and he did! It was so nice that we got to share that together.

Bellyrubs to all... I hope you are having a lovely weekend.

Thanks for your input BDT, good to know it can be done, and for twins nonetheless, well done you!! I'm going shopping today so will keep an eye out for the book.

Mitf - how lovely that you and DH got to share the first kick together The chicklet stops moving as soon as hands go on the belly but yesterday she finally kicked for DH so we were pretty excited! Well actually I think I was more excited than DH as he was still a bit sad about all the kicks he can't feel but I keep telling him he'll get to feel plenty!!

Smithy - love all the pics of Charlie, she's certainly going to grow up feeling loved between you and coops, and four big sisters!!

Kyra - will take a look for you next time I'm on FB! And saph, that reminds me, if you're around how do we find you on FB to check out your pics of the boys?

Hi to everyone else, hope you're enjoying your Sunday xx

Mitf: you lucky thing! DH must have been so excited to feel kicks! My DH has hardly felt any. As soon as he comes near me, or even looks in my direction Cookie stops, stubborn little thing!

BDT: glad to hear all is good with your two princesses!

Smithy: thanks for your kind words hun, big hugs to you & Miss Charlie!

AFM: enjoying being home, although a little bored but loving my bed! Ended up making another trip to hospy yesterday. I was trying to escape an angry wasp that had got into my loungeroom and tripped up a step and fell hard on my side on the tiles. A quick check over and CTG and it was home again. We're both fine although I'm pretty sore all down my right side. I tell you though, I feel like the inspiration for Murphy's Law

I can't believe there's only 5 weeks to go... Yikes! My mum reckons 3 though so we'll see. Finally starting the nursery this week, but bags all packed & in the car & had the capsule fittd last week. It's all so exciting & so real now! Can't wait for our scan on Thursday!

Hope you're all having a great weekend!
