Thanks Monnie Its not good when someone in the house is unwell is it? I'm sorry that your dh has been sick too. Hope he's feeling better now though. Did you speak to your ob this arv? I can't believe your ticker says 38 weeks hun!!!! Not long to go now. I bet your parents enjoyed seeing Ziggy on Friday at your appointment. Its such a special time for all involved.

Mako...Yeah...DH's feeling a lot better now...hope your DH is too! I can't believe my ticker is saying 38 weeks too...totally bizarre!!!

    Well...the Ob. 'forgot' again!!! AHHHHH!!!

He promises to look into it tomorrow...I'll be really annoyed if he doesn't!

Found out about my initial Ob. today though! Apparently he was sacked by the hospital board and given 24 hours to leave...there was a long list of complaints...the last one being that whilst giving a woman a c-section, he sliced her buttocks muscles...how awful is that!

So...although I'm a little annoyed with my current Ob. 'forgetting', I feel so amazingly relieved that I am no longer with my original Ob.

So...hopefully find out tomorrow what's happening!!!

    How's everyone else doing?

Monnie - I am a strong believer that everything happens for a reason, you have a new OB for that scary reason of not getting you bottom sliced..... eeeew.... what’s with that.
Girls I hope your DH are feeling a lot better, poor boys.

Hi all, hope you don't mind me popping in here.

I have a question, is it normal to feel really nauseous one day, then not too bad the next? I have been going in cycles with this. I guess there is no normal, just looking for some reassurance!

Smegs...definitely normal for me...I was the same...I found it to be the same with all my pregnancy symptoms (e.g. sore nipples, tiredness, heartburn)...I used to just think of it as 'hormone spurts'...some days there were more hormones around my body than others...don't know if that's particularly 'scientific'...but it helped me!!!

    Oh...and some really good news!!!

My Ob. just rang...he thinks I'll be fine with a vaginal delivery!!! YAYAYAYAYAY!!! He rang a professor specialising in embolisation (the surgery I had) and she indicated that my main risk was not uterine rupture...but that the placenta can sometimes be a bit dense (which may cause some problems in stage 3 labour...but they will be ready for it)...

    Anyway...I'm so thrilled!!!

    Hi all,

I have just finished reading through the new thread posts...it seems like i've missed so much in such a few short days. Sick DH's; Ob appointments, new BFP'ers...aarrgggghhh. I'm so hopeless when a new thread starts, not to mention being absolutely chocka's at work at the moment. It's like everyone at work is going into melt down and i'm meant to be picking up the pieces...(that's my main gripe for the evening hehehe)

Anyway, it's great to hear everyone's pregnancy's are going nicely. Mine's still happening and i've told a few more colleagues who have been so ecstatic for me (though it hasn't helped in reducing the work load which i was kinda hoping for, okay, sorry another gripe!!!)

So, has Ziggy moved yet...lets hope it's an independent self willed streak and not a stubborn one for you! It sounds so exciting, feeling Ziggy moving, and you trying to encourage movement. It brings the biggest smile to my face just thinking that in a few months i'll feel similar things.

My belly is still itchy, but yet to pop. Girlfriends laugh when i say that, they keep saying i'll probably have another 6-8 weeks before that'll happen! Positively though the m/s, though still there, is becoming more intermittent. Which is nice. I still carry dry crackers around with me and cant imagine cooking red meat, but otherwise, there's a definate improvement.

I finally went and saw my local GP last week after finishing at the Fertility Centre and he was really shocked to hear about the pg after first IVF. He was great in answering all my silly questions and gave me the referals for the Nuchal Transluceny at 12 weeks, so that's all booked. We also did our first hospital delivery suite tour on Sunday afternoon. DH wants me to go private, but the birthing options at the public seem so much more open and personal. Anyway, we visited the public (everyone else there was like you Mako and Monnie - actually visabley pg, we were definately the odd couple out!!), but, we'll now organise a visit to the private before making our final decision...as the GP said though, there's a baby boom in our area at the moment, so we better make up our minds and book in fast, particularly if we chose private!

Otherwise, had family things all weekend, like it sounds all of you had...first my sister and her fiance Sat night, bundled up with pressies for our 9 week jelly bean. They were all so cute, tiny little singlets, jumpsuits and a sleeping bag. Then the MIL on Sunday night also jam packed with goodies from a Peter Rabbit Nursery clock to body suits. Everyone is just so excited about the pregnancy it's really nice.

Well, DH due home soon - he's having drinks with his adult son, who at this stage doesn't accept jelly bean, but hopefully, he can work on that over the next few months!

Sorry about the long chatter...Take care of you all!

Kotare- good luck with the scan on Friday...you are going to have so much fun, it's going to blow you away! Is it AM or PM...cause if it's AM, be warned...you wont get the smile off your face all day and if its PM you wont sleep cause you'll be too busy thinking about the little person you've seen developing on screen!

Kimbe...so great to hear all your news!

I was like you...at our first hospital tour, I was the one without the belly whilst everyone else looked like they were ready to have the baby the next day! I was so glad we did it though...as it's helped throughout the pregnancy, to keep visualising the room in my head...

I think there are advantages for both private and public...we're private and although I really like it, it's also clear that you 'run the risk' of more interventions. At our hospital the epidural rate is something like 98% and the c-section rate is 50%...I'm sure public hospitals have much lower rates...but the good thing about private is that you get to stay for a few more days (and I think I'll really need that...)

I'm sure you will find what's right for you! If you are thinking of private, have you booked in with an Ob. yet?

Your family sound so excited...and so they should be! Aren't the tiny little singlets the cutest little things...

Wow...you have your scan in a few more weeks...that is so exciting...you won't believe how much jellybean has developed!!! My 13 week scan was my most favourite!

So glad to glad to hear that you are doing well...and the m/s is improving...hope work gets a little less busy for you...

    Take care!

Hi all, hope you are all growing beautiful bellys!!!

Monnie - Great news about vd but I bet you could just strangle your ob!
Hopefully bub will move for you.

Diva - Congratulations on your pg & yes all of us here can understand how you are feeling when you think you might jinx your pg.
You do eventually get better & don't worry as much but it does take awhile, hang in there.

Smegs - Congratulations to you as well , unfortunately with every pg there is no right or wrong & everyone has different symptoms & for longer/shorter times.
All you need to know is that you are normal!!!

Well I am 6 months tomorrow I just can't believe it, the time is flying & I have just realised I only have 9wks left of work which is really scary.
Bub is moving all the time which is fantastic, very reassuring even though it can give you quite a shock at times when you get caught off guard.

Trying to think of a name but it is just so hard!!!

Off to see dr on Friday for a general check up & people I know keep saying about how I will have to drink this awful stuff to check for diabeties, does anyone know if this is a standard thing?
Dr has not yet said anything about this.

Wow everyone's been very busy in here lol.

Monnie You must be so relieved that you had to change Ob's when you did hun. Its great news about the vb too I have to say.
I'm glad your dh is feeling better. Mine however is like a bear witha sore head lol. He has come down with the flu quite bad and all he does is moan and groan and sniffle. I really hope he keeps it to himself as I've had it twice already during this pregnancy.

Jo Congrats on getting to 6 months hun. I hit that mark last Thursday although I still talk in weeks lol. I believe they test everyone for gestational diabetes around the 28 week mark I have been told. I think the test consists of drinking some yukky fluid and also maybe a blood test or a urine test (not quite sure). I'm trying not to worry too much about it. I do know that my ob told me to pick up some specimen jars on my way out from seeing her last time but I forgot to.I must call in and get them soon I guess.

Kimbe Its great that people are dropping off little gifts for you. Its also such a special time for your extended family and its lovely to be able to share the journey with them
Good on you for looking into the hospitals etc. I haven't done a tour of ours yet. I'm sure they show you around when you do the antenatal classes.

Smegs What you are experiencing is very normal hun. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Pregnancy can be like a rollercoaster ride at times. You may feel fine one minute and very ill or tired the next.

Sushee Its great to see you back hun.

Has anyone seen Sazz lately? I do hope she's ok.

Hi to Panda and Kotare and anyone I've missed. I hope you are doing well.

Jo...Yeah...the GD test...the liquid you need to drink is not "too bad"...just like really sweet flat lemonade...I then had to have a blood test after drinking it...you have to stay in the waiting room for 1 hour in between the drink and blood test...so take a book with you (or indulge in the trashy magazines like I did!)

Mako...sorry to hear about your DH...poor thing!

Wow...you and Jo are 6 months...not long to go, you know...next it will be 7 then 8 then EDD!!!

Nah...haven't seen/heard from Sazz recently...hope she is doing well!

    All the best to all!

Monnie I guess you're right about 7 and then 8 and then edd. The time has gone quite fast for me it seems. Maybe the next couple of months might go a little slower!!

My dh is still not too well but he'll be ok. He's actually at jury duty today. That will be interesting for him I'm sure. I'm just waiting on a phone call from him to go pick him up.

Ltl Panda I know what you mean about feeling good when everyone else here is doing well. I'm sure the good vibes do rub off on us all
All the best to you for your scan next Friday. Is that your 12 week one?

Big belly rubs to you all.

Hope you had a great holiday Sushee. It was nice to swap thread while you were gone!!

Thanks Kimbe for the warning. It's in the am, so all day for me. Then DH has 'lunch' with the boys (they generally come home at about 9pm) I am a bit disappointed as i wanted to sort of celebrate with him, but i guess it'll be business as usual.
I actually feel a bit iffy today. Bit funny in the tummy and a bit narky too. Oh well, I am exactly 6 weeks today - i guess it's to be expected.
Another friend announced she is pg with no2. I am happy for them, but I can't believe that they fell pg both times on their first month. Amazing.

Hope DH is better soon Mako, and big hello to everyone.

    Hi everyone,
I've been stalking this thread for a couple of weeks now, but think I'm finally ready to own up to being pregnant (god, it seems so weird to say that...) You ladies all seem so nice, and it's kinda good to know others in the same boat as you.

We just had our 7-week scan today, and everything looks good apparently. We even saw the little heart beating - that was so awesome. Can almost start to believe this is really real...

Hope you are all going well. Kotare - enjoy your scan tomorrow.

    Hello All,

I think I'm in the same boat as a few here. Been ttc for just over 2 and a half years and have finally gotten the BFP that we've all been hoping for. Kind of feel like being here and admitting it in words is gonna jinx me!

We had just started seeing a reproductive specialist when I found out I was pregnant. We were waiting for my next period so we could start doing some invasive tests...and it never came. I am now 9 and a half weeks. I'm still in shock I think. Too scared to say it out loud just incase. Only my best friend and her husband know (aside from DH ofcourse) and even when they speak of it I find it hard to be too excited. After reading all of your posts here it's clear I'm not alone.

After having an ectopic pg in 2005 and then nothing no matter how much we charted or tested to find a problem, I still cant fully grasp the fact that there is a tiny little being in there with a heartbeat.

I hope it becomes easier in time!

    Thanks for listening,
    Mango
