after i lost DS, i had to have a D&C for retained placenta ( was done the day of delivery). i bled for maybe 2 weeks and then AF returned 4 weeks after that....

i wasnt allowed to get preg until id had 2 full cycles, mind u didnt stop me from trying after one, it didnt work, but the second cycle did.

theoretically yes i guess you could get preg if u o-ed at the time of DTD....

personally im a huge believer of things will happen for the right reasons when they are meant to, im sure i wasnt meant to fall preg that first cycle i tried....

at first, for about 4 days, after i delivered i couldnt even think of getting preg again, but once things settled down and i calmed down ( as much as u can in 4 days ) i HAD to get preg again....
i had to wait for a check up with my OB to find out when i could and all that, but i was so deseprate to be pregnant again it hurt, so i knew for me it was the right time.

HTH, good luck and im so sorry for your loss

It is possible to get pregnant immediately after birth. It's different for everyone. I hope you're OK with whatever happens - just get resources in place to help you through, whether that's counselling of SIDS and Kids. Subsequent pregnancies after loss are extremely stressful. I recommend grief counselling anyway.

I understand it's difficult to get to doctors etc. Just driving somedays feels like trying to get to the moon In the early days, I planned to do just 1 thing a day and was happy if I did it. I still have days like that. I imagine it's a lot harder with other kids to look after.

We prevented for 6 months. DH didn't want our next bub due anywhere near DS's birthday. We found that time important for our emotional healing.

i wish we had of thought of that more, DS was born the 20th of jan, DD was due the 3rd of jan, so if i went over i would have been getting really close, mind u the chances of me hitting 40 are slim let alone anymore, but it still provided that extra un-needed stress
