Im still so paranoid - driving me crazy....

    Hi everyone,

I will be 15 weeks tomorrow with my 3rd baby (4th pregnancy). I have been trying really hard to be positive and most days I am ok but lately I am driving myself crazy with worry. I have a bit of weight on me and have a bit of a flabby tummy from my past bubs. I just dont look pregnant at all. If I lie flat on my back my hip bones stick out but there is no pregnant belly. I try to feel the top of my uterus but cant, I can still sleep on my tummy and all my pregnancy symptoms have gone.

I had my first middy appointment last week, but it was all booking in and paperwork. She didnt have a feel of my tummy or listen for a heartbeat. I asked when this would happen and she said not until my 20 week appointment (6 weeks away!) I dont think I can hold out that long until I get some proof of a live baby in there. I keep thinking I have had a missed m/c again. I did have a scan at 12 weeks and things looked fine, I still cant help worrying....

Can I get some reassurance please? Should I make an appointment to see my Dr just so she can have a feel and listen?

    Thanks everyone xx

    Hi ubba,

I'm sure you already know this, but the 2nd tri is notorious for very few symptoms. I was lucky I still had M/S until 16 weeks - only here could you say that - but I understand the continuing worry. I still worry fairly often even now.

If it makes you feel better I would go and see your dr, especially if you don't think you can hold out for the 6 weeks. I only ever went 4 weeks and that seemed like an eternity to me, I know I couldn't have gone for 6 weeks without turning into a basket case!

    Good luck!

I get your worry too I'm feeling the same way, this is my third pregnancy, already overweight, and can't feel or see a bump or feel the top of my uterus growing.

I'm sure you would have signs if something wasn't right - rather than signs that everything is right - if that makes sense?

i know how you feel, i lost our first baby at 12 weeks, i put of having a scan with this one until 23 weeks! i was soooo scared and in denial but made myself do it, i still dont look pregnant and im 25 weeks! I still wear normal clothes and have had no comments, dont stress bubs is still very small at 15 weeks and may not even be detected with a doppler, im sure all is fine, good luck with everything!

    Aw ubba,
I didn't realise until now that you had this thread up here. did you end up going to see your doctor? Its sooo bloody stressful, i know exactly how you feel. at my 15 week checkup the midwife tried to listen to bubs heartbeat via the doppler and couldn't find it, just to make me that little extra self concious about my weight she said "oh that would just be because you have a lot of fat on your stomach". She ended up finding it waaay down low, where my pubic hair begins, where infact there is very little fat! Grrrr.

I wish i wasn't overweight just so i could have a sticky out belly, atm it just looks like i'm putting on weight, i can't feel much difference when i lie flat, only in the mornings when i'm busting for a wee i can feel a bump.

I hope all is well, and i hope you're starting to get the morning bump too (when you're busting for a wee). :hugs:

I'm in the same boat Ubba. I think Mel is right, in 2nd tri there'd be signs if there's something wrong rather than the 1st tri m/s etc. Can you get you u/s earlier than 20 weeks to reassure you?

Telly- I get that morning bump!! I try and hold on to my wee for as long as I can so I can lie in bed longer so I can feel the bump!!!

Snowy- I wont worry about an earlier scan now. There is only 3 weeks to wait. Im sure everything is fine, I just have feelings of doubt every now and again.

    Thanks heaps girls xx

Hey Ubba! I didn't realise you were here either. I totally understand where you're coming from with the worry. Seeing a doc & hearing the heartbeat will ease your mind, but statistically, you & bubba should be fine if everything looked good at the 12 week scan. It's one thing to know that though and another to believe it.
