If it is suggested to get your child tested by those that are experienced in the field, I would now honestly take their advice. I didn't listen about my son and now by the time he gets seen, let alone "completes" testing, it will be too late for early intervention. I was told from him being around 2yrs old that he needed testing and now I really regret it. Doesn't mean they need drugs, just that they can provide you with strategies better tailored to suit the special needs of their differences and they can do OT to teach them how to deal with things appropriately. My partner also had ADHD and that wasn't diagnosed until high school and caused delays and difficulties with schooling. Early intervention also means that they may be able to "fix" some of the neural pathways. At very least it means that they can exclude it as a cause of behaviors which can also help
