Alish-i was out shopping the other day with ella in a denim dress with pink frills around the bottom of it and butterfly embroidery on it with a pink long sleeve shirt underneath and pink and white striped tights and a lady still said is it a girl:o and you have seen her picture SHE LOOKS LIKE A GIRL with her pretty face so it doesnt matter there is still idiots out there who are clueless so dress your bub in whatever you want.
Angelfish-the doctors will keep an eye on you so dont worry.
Well after 3 boys i LOVE LOVE LOVE pink lol.
MrsS-when i was pregnant i was a constant dripping tap it was so gross but normal its just pregnancy hormones.
Hi Dory Tegam Reet Mildez everyone i have missed.
AFM-I am off for a pelvic u/s on monday as i am still bleeding very heavy and its almost 7 weeks so doctor not happy thinks it retained products after ella's birth.
Ella had her needles today poor sweetness she was not happy she now weighs 5kg and is 54.5cm long and her HC is 38cm so she is still a little cherub just a porker my friends bub was born with a head of 38cm and 57cm long and Ella is nearly 7 weeks so she is just plotting along nicely.
She is doing great on her zantac and NAN reflux formula much more content and happy.
Well best be off i wonder if i am in for a bad night with her after the needles.

good luck tonight ferrals!
alish my mum was once asked why she dressed 'that' boy in a dress! freaking funny that i was my sister and glad it wasnt me!
-
Kelly: Jayden is sooooo cute! Sounds good that he's doing lots of wet nappies. Hopefully that will translate into some weight gain soon. My DD went through times when she was at the 50th percentile and other times down to the 25th and maternal and child health nurse wasn't too worried: she gave us a lot of leeway to see how we went before we worried about how she was doing. If Jayden is sleeping ok and not too unsettled that would also be a good sign i guess that he's getting enough milk to keep him happy?
Alish: lovely news on your girl. Very kind of you to give your MIL that special experience that she missed out on with her kids. (Ultrasounds weren't routine until the late 70's in Victoria i think). Oh, and re dressing in pink: I was determined to dress my DD in a broad range of colours but i sometimes found it hard to find stuff that isn't pink if you don't go to a range of more expensive stores. (eg Target is pretty obsessed with pink for girls). But it is possible: I found some lovely red, purple and light blue and brown things for my DD. But, like Ferrals, i also had experiences of people asking me if DD was a girl when she was a small baby even when she was decked out head to toe in pink girly stuff (and I swear she always looked like a girl. She's always been quite dainty!) So i agree: dress her in whatever you want : )
Melster: sounds like bub is sitting on something! When's your next dr check up? Oh, and I sympathise with you on the heartburn. I've been getting more and more of it the last three weeks and it's miserable. Really uncomfortable. Puts me off eating.
Tegam, Dory, and everyone else hi! (i haven't gone back too far to review posts. I'm a bit behind).
-
mrs s - hows it going? when are you booked in to have the babies again??
kellbell - he is gorgeous :) i dont know anything about babies & weight so i wont give advice ;)
dampyre - yeah i hope she gets my skin too lol.. dh has redheads on his side so his skin is moley & freckly, mine is olive lol.. i was going to ask the u/s lady to see if its possible to tell if she has red hair as a joke but i dont think MIL would have found that funny haha!!
cheshire - i bet your dh would love a boy! not that having 3 girls would be bad but most men want a little boy! i was just discussing with my dh this morning about that and i said i bet we end up with all girls.. he thinks so too!
melster - hows it goin??
ferrals - youre right, some people are idiots! esp when she was dressed in a dress, lol.. i mean, come on! sorry to hear you are still bleeding, hope they fix it quick!
did you have a good night with ella? glad she is feeling better now
tegam - haha!! i hope that never happened to me when i was a baby! i think all i ever was in was dresses and pink! how are you?
possum - a papaya this week! how are you going?
im finding that in lakes & bairnsdale i cant find a huge range of neutral colours, kmart is either pink blue green or yellow, never a mixture, so ive just been buying white. i prob need to go to melbourne, dh told me to stop buying things now as my brother & sister gave me all their baby clothes, half of them are still new with tags (that mum & i got them) so at least i get benefit out of it lol.. i must admit there has been a couple of cute pink things i wanted to buy but as soon as i do that everyone will find out!
hello to everyone ive missed! xx
-
ferrals~ i know the drs will take good care of me still being scared is always going to be there again. I have never heard of NAN reflux formula ? Maybe they dont have it were i live
-
kellbell, we had to top up DS for only a few days, but that was quite early - I tend to agree with the girls, as long as he's gaining, the jaundice is resolving, he's sleeping and doing plenty of wet nappies, nothing to worry about. Get a second opinion before you do anything you don't want to. If you're concerned about supply, when he's finished feeding, you can express (or just stimulate) with a breast pump to boost your supply. I'd do that before doing anything you don't want to! He'll tell you if he's hungry. DS was losing weight, getting sick and screaming his head off when we had to top up with formula (and only for 3 days before my milk came in on day 6 - he was over 9lbs, big boy to go hungry :))
I'm feeling much better now, thanks for the good wishes :) I was another of those little girls who was mistaken for a boy! But Mum did dress me in my brother's hand-me-downs. But even if I was in pink... bald babies look like boys apparently. My DS was mistaken for a girl at 4 months while dressed in black pants, an ACDC jump suit and a denim jacket... But he had LOTS of hair.

Hi girls!
I think I'm too far behind for persies, sorry! I had a bit of a scare, I kinda brought it on myself  So I was quite sick with m/s for over a week, couldn't get out of bed or keep my eyes open etc. Had the scan Friday where all was good. Sunday I woke feeling completely normal, no m/s at all, not tired at all, my boobs still hurt a lot but I just felt like things weren't right. After a couple of days of me completely freaking out, DH made me see my GP Tuesday. He was also concerned so sent me for another scan which I had yesterday. Even though I had no bleeding or cramping I just had a feeling, the m/s just suddenly stopping didn't sit well with me.
But bubs is fine thank god. I'm glad I had another scan, I was absolutely convinced it was all over. I'm 8 weeks 3 days now, so guess I should just count myself lucky I'm getting over it sooner this time.
I'm thinking of hiring a doppler, has anyone else done this? I can see now that I'm going to freak out now & then, I can't keep having scans every week just to put my mind at ease...much as I'd like too!
-
I had the same freakout at 9 weeks CM - My ob said there is no harm in having weekly scans, it's much better than stressing out! A doppler wont help you until after at least 14 weeks or so - my friend's got one though, she bought it, have a look on ebay maybe? Good luck - at least it helps to know that freaking out is normal!
-
Cheezel - I wouldn't get a doppler if you are a bit of a stress head. My OB had trouble finding the heartbeat a few days ago and he is a professional. Could you imagine how you would feel if you couldn't find it?
-
cheezel - my midwife said that dopplers make you more stressed than calm!
-
Yeah I agree with India's Mum actually - and alish! This way, if you do have a freakout, you need to speak with your Ob or a midwife - they can check bubby and you're more likely to de-stress. Hopefully it wont be long before you can relax and enjoy bubby - I'm counting down the days to feeling movement now...
-
cheezl~ with my last pregnancy i had a doppler but there was two sides yes it does help when you find the hb but i remmber when i could not feel her move yet and trying to find her hb becouse they have so much space to move and hid.I would lay on the floor trying to find her and crying thinking the worse then i would find her.So with this pregnancy i dont know if i am going to use it or not
-
CheezelMonster - the same thing happened to me at 8wks, MS stopped, i freaked and i bolted to my obs rooms! Bub of course was perfectly fine and MS kicked back in a few days later! I did hire a doppler and I had a really positive experience with it! We were able to locate the heartbeat from 10wk exactly and never had any problems... on the odd occasion it would take about 10mins to find but we always found it! We found bub was in the same spot 99% of the time so we always knew where to find it! I am an extreme stresshead and I found it sooooo reassuring! Best thing we did! I used it til I was about 23wks or so.... in the early wks i used it almost daily but as my confidence grew, i became less dependant on it and just learnt to trust my body. Hope this helps xx
Hi everyone else! So sorry no more persies today! Im so far behind again!! Im on maternity leave now which is so awesome! I love it but ive been so busy! I promised myself i would rest and put my feet up but i cant stop cleaning out cupboards and re-packingh my hosp bag! lol! I had my baby shower last Sunday and it was so wonderful! I was spoilt rotten! Overwhelmed with the gifts i received! I got a baby bath, digital steriliser, electric bottle warmer, bottles, clothes, jolly jumper, moses basket, hooded towels, blankets, digital thermometre.... etc etc! It was unbelievable! I haven felt so spoilt since my wedding day! DH was shocked when he got home to see all the beautiful gifts! The days was great, lots a corny games and yummy food surrounded by 40 of my closest friends and family! What a day!!! :D
We saw my ob on Monday and my kidney scan last week showed that it had deteriorated again so now he wants to induce/caesar at 37 wks! Thats like 2.5wks away! OMG!!! I have so much to do! Agh! Im having another scan monday and see my urologist again then i guess we will be given the special BIRTH date!! Wow this is getting exciting! And going waaay to fast!
Anyway i gotta fly, off to get our car seats fitted this morning! YAyayaya!
-
Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I certainly am turning into a bit of a stresshead  I said the same thing to my DH, this could potentially freak me out even more. I'll see how I feel after my next scan which is only in a few weeks.
Even though the m/s was so horrid it was really comforting to me! I felt a little off this morning though so maybe I did speak too soon!
-
Cheezel - how far along are you? I had a good week with MS somewhere around week 9 or week 10 and then it came back again and here I am now 18 weeks still throwing up most days (but not feeling as sick in general)
-
I'll be 9 weeks on Monday, so could just be a good week :D
-
thopes - nice to hear you got spoilt rotten
cheezel - everything will be fine :)
-
thopes - nice to hear you got spoilt rotten
cheezel - everything will be fine :)
-
thopes....wow 2 and a bit weeks.....how exciting....i cant believe ur next......i hope everything goes well
cheezle......yeah i have heard positive and negatives on both sides of the doppler......i think ms comes and goes........hope u feel a bit better now
hey everyone else
-
Hi Ladies,
I'd like to join your thread (again) and I hope this time I will stay longer than the last time (1 day). I am 8 weeks today, and so far so good, had 3 scans already, last at 7w3d and the bub had a hb of 152/min, which I think is very good for that age. I have a cvs scheduled in about 3 weeks, and if it comes back OK I think I will be able to relax a bit. On one hand, I had some good symptoms this time, but after so many failed pregnancies, and being 43, I cannot just take it easy.
-
Welcome Luna I am handing over all the sticky and bake well vibes I no longer need! Is there the parenting after loss thread? I can't believe the boys came before Monday!

Hi ladies, Hope you're all well. Sorry, I haven't got much time for a lot of persies today.
Kellbell I had to give DD formula top ups (from a cup, MW said bottles lead to nipple confusion or babies preferring the bottle). It was hard work, and it felt like the end of the world, or the end of breastfeeding anyway. I was really upset, and scared that DD wasn't putting on enough weight. But it wasn't the end of the world. The top ups were expressed BM and formula, so the expressing helped keep my supply up. And at some point, I decided to be brave and just take away the formula top ups and then the BM top ups too. She BF until she was 14 months and later flat out refused formula if I tried to mix things up a bit. I guess what I am trying to say, is that if you do feel you need to top up Jayden, it's not the end of the world. And it doesn't mean the end of BF. It doesn't mean that you're any less of a mum. x
AFM There was a :heartbeat: !!! Only 7 weeks though, so still quite a while till I can allow myself to be properly excited. But it was the best birthday present I could ask for. DD tried her best though, with a wee on my quilt first thing in the morning and a poo in the bath at the end of the day  Good thing she's cute.
-

Congratulations Mrs S on the arrival of Lleyton and Jackson! Well done!
Happy mother's day to all the mummies and mummies to be.
Angelfish: I don't think i've yet wished you well on your BFP. Lovely news. I'm sure it's hard work though: I remember i only felt physically ready to start thinking about another pregnancy when DD was about 8mths or so, so you've started your next journey very early on. Be kind to yourself as much as you can. Hopefully you will avoid bad m/s this time. Every pg is different.
Luna: Congratulations to you too! I hope you get to stay a long time this time.
India's mum: You poor thing still throwing up all the time! It must be hard managing that and DD1. You must be due for the 20wk scan very soon?
t-hopes: Hope you are feeling ok. Sorry to hear your kidneys are worse. But very exciting that you'll be meeting bub so soon. You are now crowned queen the pregnantest in the thread i think!
Melster: You sound a bit weary. Even if you can't drink, can't hubby watch DD and give you a night out? You could still have lots of chocolate even if no alchohol?
Alish: Very excited for you about the move! We are not moving but will be fixing up a bathroom between now and when Baby arrives. It suits the nesting instinct i think! How are you feeling? I think you mentioned something about a UTI earlier this week? Oh, and did i say congrats yet on the news of a girl?
Sorry for lack of persies, i'm a bit behind. Just did a few randoms from memory.
Belly rubs to all xx
-
Thank you still a long hard road a head of us in SCN Lleyton stopped breathing yesterday very very scary!
Wow you did good on persies I was going to do them my minds blank now!

This is my frist mothersday and my bf made me cry he made me a card with honors pictures in it since birth and on the inside it said to the best mommy in the world.
MrsS~ It must have been very scary i am praying really hard for you and your two little ones.
possuim magic~ thank you i did not think that it would happen so soon but i am ready for another one. The only hard part right now is being so tired. But i know that i can do this
-
hey possum! im going good! im getting puffed really quick but that could be my asthma as well! my uti i gone thank god! i started drinking citravescent (yuck) and it went in a couple of days! thanks for asking!
good luck with the bathroom, a move or reno of any kind is stressful! the house here is almost finished (just touch ups) so its just getting the shed started now, i told dh id be happy with a shed floor (haha!) and just a basic shower & toilet.. there are generators for power & we have a gas heater.. just to take the pressure off him.. im lucky he is a carpenter & can come home after work and do some stuff!
thanks :) we are so excited to have a girl! we have a feeling its an all girl family for us..
how are you going?
melster - oo i cant wait to have a night out either! us and our mates are big drinkers so its been an adjustment for me haha
angelfish - thats nice he made a card for you, very sweet
mrs s - how is lleyton going now? yes very scary..
how are all the other lovely ladies? xx
-
T-Hopes - Aww your baby shower sounded just beautiful. 40 friends and family? WOW. If there's one thing I regret is the way my baby shower went down in flames. :( So nice to hear a positive story where it goes right, and of course getting spoiled doesn't hurt.
Luna - welcome! :) Good luck with your CVS, and you're right that heartrate does sound good. I know it's hard to relax, and you have good reason to feel edgy about it. But I have everything crossed this one is a sticky.
Pash - Interesting, I had a MW tell me there's no such thing as nipple confusion. I wish I could remember the reasoning she gave me but at the time it really made sense. I found that Axel hated formula at first (while I was incapacitated in the hospital) and would BF like a champ. But he did need top-ups so got used to formula. For a while there he was feeding from bottle and boob like a little pro. No signs of any confusion at all. Though now my milk is almost gone, I can only get about 15ml expressing (trying to increase this dramatically) and he won't take to the boob. I think part of it is because he doesn't want to work for his food, lol. He likes the fast flow of a bottle. LOL I couldn't help but chuckle at your DD's wee and poo escapades. :) Cute..
Dory - Thanks so much for the mothers day text. Sorry I didn't get around to replying till now... I've got my hands full as I'm sure you understand lol. I hope you had a lovely day also
Melster - Just remember having a new baby will most likely never be as hard as the first time. You're a seasoned mumma now! :)
Mrs S - Congrats! Can't wait to hear the details :) That must have been so frightening when Lleyton stopped breathing, so glad he's alright. Enjoy your double snuggles hehe
Angelfish - Great attitude, hun. You can do this! How's your DP been about the new pg? Is he coming around to the idea?
AFM - Sorry to anyone I missed, I fell behind a little. Happy Mothers day to everyone! (and a special hooray to all of us enjoying our first official mothers day)
Axel is doing a lot better lately. His last cast came off and he was fitted with boots and bars. The bad news is the boots were rubbing his feet and causing blisters, which in turn made him incredibly restless and irritable. I'm talking waking every half hour during the night screaming, and not sleeping at all during the day unless I was holding him. Pretty rough. DH and I had one of those 'bingo!' moments though when we realised WE are calling the shots here, and that we can make decisions for our son. We don't have any faith in the hospital, and feel these boots and bars (picture a snowboarder) are a bit excessive for such a mild problem with his foot. Which, by the way now looks perfect. So I'm heading to the GP in half an hour for a 2nd opinion/refferal to a physiotherapist. I've done some research and it seems like physio should do the trick. Of course at the first sign of relapse, we'll begin more aggressive treatment. We just don't want to see our baby boy suffer if he doesn't need to. Plus it's really awful trying to squish his little feet into those boots. He screams and thrashes and it just kills me inside.
Other than that, all is well and he's sleeping up to 5hrs at a time now! He only wakes twice during the night, and the last waking is usually around 5am anyway so technically it's not night anymore. So proud of my little trooper.... and so relieved to get a bit of rest. I think I'm getting the hang of this! YAY! :)
Anyway I must be off, gotta try to get dressed to go out. Should be interesting while holding my little wiggler... lol. Love to all! :heartbeat:
-
forshelby~ thank you and i know as frist time parents its hard to remmber that you call the shots when it comes to drs but you do if i did not have one of those moments honro could still be sick and i would not know what was goingon good luck at the drs
AFM i am heading to the drs to see what is going on .
-
forshelby - im glad you took that boot thing off, axel sounds much more relaxed now, and at the end of the day, thats what you need to keep sane - a happy baby.
angelfish - how did u go at the drs?
oh my god i could kill my sil..i feel like she copies everything i do, if i wear a top she will have it the next time i see her or jewellery or anything, she hates that i took my dh "away from her".. ever since i announced my pregnancy shes wanted to have a baby, and bil told me she was off the pill at easter and i thought to myself "here we go" but cuz shes depressed etc shes on a whole heap of pills and she was trying to get them right before they started trying.. annywaaaay she announced she was pregnant 2 weeks ago.. i got a bit upset but im happy for them.. until i found out the week before she announced she was pregnant she was telling mil that she wanted to leave bil! WTF!! why would you bring a baby into that?? im so f*cking angry at her, a baby isnt a patch for a relationship that has problems?? it makes me so sad..
not that id wish it upon anyone but if she only knew how hard it is to have a baby let alone make it stick.. she takes pregnancy for granted cuz shes never had a problem with it..
-
Alish....What a difficult situation...a baby is defiantly not a patch thats for sure..actually it can make things harder and more intense if you're not on the same path
Angelfish..What a lovely mothers day for you....thinking of you at you're app..hope it goes well..i will be watching for you're return!!!!
Forshelby...how did you go with that second opionion? You must be lovin the 5 hrs sleep...hope you're feeling a bit better now
Mrs s...how is bubs doing now? that must of been so scary you poor thing..are you ok?
PM...Yeah i could still have a night out...but i am just tired and grumpy anyways LOL..i will wait until i can have a proper night out with loads of alcohol...LOL although i cant last like i used to..and always want to come home early to DD.....
ATM.....30 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Things arent that great with hubby and i at the moment....im so over everything i tell you...think its all the hormones and tiredness as well....
