HELPPPPPPPPP! Sorry for the selfish post-- I spent yesterday in the hospital-- NO fetal movement all day-- even at meals. The last time I felt the baby was two nights ago (at 4:30 am). I was prepared for decreased movement-- but I had zero movement. We had a heartbeat, tested at home, but the on-call doc told me to go to the hospital...but she told me that she probably would not see me there and probably no ultrasound..I think that she thought that things would be fine. (I like this doc) They gave me something like 4 sugary drinks and put me on my side...but still no movement...just a line for the heartbeat. Anyway, The heartbeat was steady-- but ONLY one or two movements...NOT good. Next thing, I know, in walks the doc and she has a portable ultrasound. The baby moved a bit and they started looking at limbs and chest, etc. But they are worried about little movement. But then she said that the little chest was moving and that was reassuring 'cause that's the first to go-- but it's moving fast and she hadn't seen it move so fast (what???) But good "tone" and the limbs were bent in the proper places.

Ladies, I am going out of my mind. I was okay, thinking that the baby is just really quiet and reassured by the heartbeat-- and I assumed that the baby would move once I laid down for the night.. BUT NOTHING!

    Help!!!

Eventually, they sent me home...but they want a more thorough ultrasound in their office today--this morning-- it's 4:45 am-- and the baby hasn't moved all night.

S&S can you head to the hospital sooner rather then later? The CTG they do to monitor bubs heart rate might help put your mind at ease. If bub was distressed it would very well show on the CTG without the scan and they could do something about it soon rather then after your scan. There is every chance bub is just been quiet but better to get some piece of mind rather then worrying about it as much as you are. Its such a scary time. Thinking of you and hope he/she starts kicking up a storm inside.

Sunshine - Hugs...... I am with Mildez, go in earlier and see if you can be monitored on the CTG.... and again, HUGS through this very stressful time.

Hi Mildez, the doctor thinks that I will be okay through the night given what they saw on whatever machine/ monitor they were using. They did say that the placenta is high and because of the baby's position, I may not feel kicks...but it was still kinda quiet. But the ultrasound showed movement, so that was good, just not a whole bunch (if that makes any sense).

The doctor said that the baby had good "tone" and that the limbs looked good -- meaning, that they weren't "flacid" -- and the little "breathing" chest (baby chest) was a good sign...though it was frequent and fast. Plus, the heartbeat is strong. My blood pressure was just a little higher than normal (but I was anxious) and I haven't had any serious complications to this point. That is why they think that I can go through the night.

I only have two more hours to wait until the OB-GYN office opens. The little bugger needs to wake up. I am thinking about drinking some hot chocolate or something.

I haven't had any contractions ( I had some braxton hicks last week, but nothing much). And the baby was moving just fine the night before last...and on last night's ultrasound, though kinda quiet movements.

Thanks for the suggestion...I am going to try not to freak out.

Sunshine and stars: I agree with Mildez. Why not go to hospital sooner if you are still very worried? I hope they can put your mind at rest. I pray all is ok with your little one.

    Angelfish:
So thrilled for you that your little girl Honour is here. What a lovely name. Is she named for someone? I hope that you are enjoying your little one and that you have people cooking you meals and helping you out lots.

Congratulations Angelfish! Thats great news U did it!! Cant wait to hear more about ur new little girl!

S&S- Oh u poor thing, how stressful. I think u shld get up to the hospital ASAP too. Did they say ur baby could be getting quiet cos she/hes getting ready to come a bit early?? I really hope it starts kicking up a storm for u soon. Thinking of you. Will check in to see how things go. Best of luck.

Ck08- Best of luck at ur u/s. Im sure everything is going to be just perfect! How awful seeing blood, i HATE seeing any blood when pg, it freaks me out, i even get freaked out when im wearing red knickers and have a little bit of discharge (TMI!!) and it makes a little wet patch on my knickers.. i have to get toilet paper and check that its not blood! Crazy or what! So glad it was on the outside of ur knickers!

T-Hopes- Congratulations on ur scan and all the movements ur getting. I think everyday just gets more and more exciting! I LOVE being pregnant!

Ferrals- What day is ur scan? I really really hope ur in the lucky 2% and dont need a caesar. Altho if u do have to have one atleast it means meeting ur little girl a bit earlier!

Forshelby- OMG UR NEXT!!! Im hyperventilating with u!! I cant believe it.. Its so so soon! Well lets hope not TOO soon! So is baby definitely head down and all ready for its grand entrance?

Mildez- I cant believe ur working basically right up until ur edd! U go girl! Atleast it sounds like ur all organised. Time shld go really quickly too being at work still all the time.

Dory- Best of luck with ur MRI on monday. I have heard they can make u feel really claustrophobic. They are also apparently really noisy so ppl suggest u take an ipod in to block the noise out and to help keep ur mind a little occupied.

Kell- How quick is time going! I cant wait til we are at the BIG 30!! Im so excited that we are in the 3rd trimester! Where did the 2nd one go?!

Clairesmummy- I cant go back any further than this page at the moment but is ur dating scan on monday? Best of luck with it if it is. Im sure u will see that beautiful little heartbeat ticking away. Oh and i dont think i have said it to u yet.. but isnt clomid the absolute BESTEST thing around?!

Stoked- Congratulations on ur little boy!

Hi to Jenna, Iona, Melster, Possum and Alish also!

AFM- Eveything going great here! Tummy growing very nicely. Leg cramps have disappeared since i upped my water intake. Loving feeling baby move all day.. except for today, he/shes had a really quiet day, only a few little kicks here and there. Makes me a bit nervous but im sure its just kicking back and relaxing. I had a sundae from maccas last nite and am quite angry at myself for it now cos i know they say u shldnt have them in pg because of the risk of listeria.. its probably just the universe trying to make me stress a bit as payback for ignoring the 'pregnancy rules!' Im not doing that again! Has anyone else found there baby has quiet days??
I still havent bought anything baby, really must start soon! I got a bit disheartened the other day. I feel like im missing out not knowing the gender. I dont even look at baby clothes cos i dont want to have to buy gender neutral clothes, i wld rather buy cute little blue or pink outfits. I also want to buy cot sheets (for my non existant cot) but want to buy either blue or pink not just white or another colour. I also want to make curtains, but once again in pink or blue, not just white. And then theres the wall colour.. i really want to get in and paint it now but we have decided to wait.. dh has said in the couple weeks after baby is born he will get in and do it.. we will have a lot of family here too so they can have a bit of a nursery working bee! I really want to be organised BEFOREHAND tho!! Anyway i know this is a big WHINGE WHINGE WHINGE.. and Its really stupid of me.. i am really looking forward to the surprise on the day but i dont know.. im just being silly...
Anyway better log off, this was meant to be a quick post, an hour later and im still here! haha

    Nite nite xxx

Sunshine - Hang in there hun. I don't have any useful advice just a big and FX all is well.

Reet - I knoooowwwww I'm next, I'm next! lol. Or maybe Ferrals or Iona will go first. Ikwym about wanting to get pink or blue, but have consoled myself by remembering that bubs doesn't know what colours are, or care for that matter lol. Why not get one set of sheets in white or something and then you can be prepared but with room to expand your collection once you know the sex? That's what I did anyway. Plus white sheets can be bleached in the event of a poo explosion. I did the same with the bassinette, and got a minimal wardrobe in some nice greens and even a snazzy black singlet! I can always mix and match these things with pink or blue when the time comes. Good luck and let us know how you go with the shopping!

Another selfish post coming-- baby moved distinctly at 7:13 am after I drank a big glass of orange juice and tried to lay down again in bedroom. It's 8am and I am trying to reach the ob-gyn-- they open at 8am. Lots of snow this morning. No other movement...but at least something is happening.

Kick little thumper, kick little thumper, kick little thumper...
Gotta try to call again... signing off for now.
