Hi girls - just calling in to let you know my on appt went great today! He did a scan for us so we got to say hello to bubs! AND the baby gave us a thumbs up!! It was so cool! My doc got a pic of it!! He said the baby must have been about to suck its thumb and he snapped it just in time! Too cute!!! Bubby has got so BIG!! Wow! Barely fits on the screen now! Cant believe how far we have come!! The baby was doing a bit of a flip and we could see one of the ears and my ob said "oh there is an ear! Oh its a big ear!" I know it sounds silly but now im a little paranoid that something is wrong with its ear! Has anyone ever noticed a big ear in an u/s or perhaps he just meant it was developed??? I dunno! Ridiculous thing to worry about I know but just cant help it!! I always seem to find something to worry about but this is ridiculous!

Anyway im taking my silly self to bed! Im pooped!!!

    Hi Lovely Ladies!

T-Hopes- Ooooh yay for a great scan! And i had a good chuckle about u worrying about ur babies big ear! Haha honestly i dont think u need to worry. I dont think its even something the proper u/s tech wld worry about!! It seems like they measured everything else in the morph. scan EXCEPT for the ears! They even measured the nose! I love how us girls make fears out of such funny/ silly things!
Oh and i LOVE puppy breath too.. puppies are just beautiful little creatures!

Melster- Yay for getting past that awful 12 week mark!! Bet ur so excited to see ur baby in a weeks time! Im sure it is baby ur feeing, especially since u know what to feel for.. it wldnt be affecting ur rib area yet tho, i dont think my baby has made it up to my ribs yet.. I havent had any rib action!

Forshelby- Glad u have ur tiredness problem sorted.. hopefully the iron tablets kick in soon! I have sometimes wished i wld come back as being iron deficient so i wld have a reason to be tired but nope its always been fine.. no excuse except laziness for me! Love the sound of ur stocking things too! Very stylish indeed! How often do u have to wear them??
Thanks (U too ferrals!!) for reassuring me that im not the only one that has had an annoying bladder at this stage.. it drives me insane at night! It feels like im constantly just getting up to go to the toilet!

Ferrals- Yuck a 10 hr shift.. u poor thing. Hope u got thru it ok. I think thats what helped me to be a bit happier after we lost our nala, we know we gave her the best life possible, she was super spoilt, never got in trouble for anything! We even just laughed when we caught her on our kitchen bench eating all the potato peels cos we thought it was cute.. silly of us or what! I hope we toughen up a little by the time we have kids that need disciplining!

Mildez- I really feel for u having that nasty vein u poor thing is there any treatment for it?? Will it stay for the whole pregnancy?? I guess love making is off the cards for a while??!

Possum- Very best of luck on wed!! Cant wait to hear ur good news!!

    Hello to everyone else too!

AFM- Have put some new tummy pics on my facebook, also have a couple puppy pics on my profile! http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...2&id=622993252
Dh and i both felt a little foot (well we think it was) kicking around and pressing on my tummy last night, it was very very exciting but a little weird! Dh got a bit freaked out at first and quickly took his hand away.. i was a little freaked out too!! We have both only been feeling my tummy jumping around til then, no actual body parts! Its so very exciting!!!

    Reet you look fantastic.

T-Hopes glad your Ob appointment went well, I'm sure bubs ear/s are fine. Probably a close up shot that made it look big. Plus at this stage it might need to grow into its ears and feet and hands etc if you know what I mean. Certain parts of them are still out of proportion at this stage. OMG your next big scan must be coming up soon. How exciting.

Reet love making doesn't hurt but it makes the vein get 10times as big IYKWIM! Thats the part thats very unpleasant afterwards. Not sure what to do about that. We have been enjoying that part but then I have the concern that the extra blood flow down there is just causing it to get bigger but if we reduce the amount then I'm sure once bub is born it will take along time to return to a normal amount if that makes sense. I just remember from DD that it took along time to have that desire until she was weaned which was 2yrs and we were already ttc again in that time. It will get worse until baby comes and then most of them go away after bub is born. If not I'd opt for them to remove it which would be very unpleasant I'm sure. I'm abit concerned about the birth as I'm already at risk of haemorrage from the uterus (provided the placenta is normal to start with) and the veins are wear I'd tear perhaps. Its like a garden hose so I think I'd bleed very quickly if it gets damaged. So sorry about the TMI lol.

Melster-with my 1st and 2nd i felt them at 20 weeks and 18 weeks with my 3rd and 4th it was around 15-16 weeks and with this disco queen it was at 13 weeks and just like you it felt like bubbles in my belly and little swishes here and there.
I diddnt get rib action until my uterus reached the 24 week mark.

T-Hopes-everything would be fine i would be more worried if there was no ear.

Mildez-when do you go for another scan to check your placenta i have mine in 3 weeks.

AFM-sorry for the lack of persies we went looking at houses this morning they were disgusting and flea ridden and they wanted $400 a week so i guess we keep looking.
Anyway i am doing another 10 hour shift tonight i am training my replacement so i get to sit back and just supervise which will be good for my feet.

    Hi everyone!

I'm still here, lol. I suspect I'll be here for a couple more weeks, Tiger is clearly very comfortable and shows no signs of moving on out. I'm loving having DH home for the holidays, hopefully Tiger will show up before he has to go back to work. To be honest, this bit feels as scary as the TWW, I'm re-reading the true blood series, once again - hot vampires are an awesome distraction

Weird pregnancy thing - my eyebrows have changed colour. They are now quite a few shades darker than my hair. Bizarro.

Alish - I guess it all depends on how sure of your dates you are as to how much the early scan helps. It's such a scary time, but we're all here to keep you sane.

T-Hopes - Aww congrats on a great scan hun, I can feel your excitement just reading your post. IKWYM about the ear comment..... one sonographer said to us that bubby had a big nose..... I was like.. uhhhhhhhhh ok. Neither of us have a big nose, and we looked at the u/s..... cute as a button! We too thought maybe he meant developed. LOL... it's hard not to read too much into what they say and get paranoid. At 12wks the lady commented that bubby has 'beautiful hands'. I found that interesting... not sure how she could tell but I'll go with it!

Reet - I agree, it's good to be able to put a reason to the tiredness. I just thought it was normal 3rd trimester stuff. I only have to wear the stockings when I'm going to be standing or walking a lot. So basically when I feel like it. People are very rude though the way they stare.. I find it quite amusing to just stare back. I LOOOOOVE the new tummy pics, you've really popped! Feeling the baby move is the most exciting thing ever, isn't it? I still get a thrill when I feel a new sensation. Feeling specific bodyparts is awesome. I can almost tell with complete accuracy what body part is where now, just by the way it feels. It's fun to guess!

Mildez - Ugh you poor thing with the veins.... are there any kinds of natural remedies you can try? I have no idea with this kind of thing but it sounds so uncomfortable for you.

Ferrals - Good luck for the house-hunting, and have fun training your replacement!

Kit - Hehehe, you always make me chuckle. Can't wait to read your birth announcement.... it's so close now. I imagine it would be very nerve wracking being so close to the end... I'm getting edgy and I've still got just under 10 weeks to go. Every little niggle and pain I think 'OMG, PREMATURE LABOUR' lol. Good luck for the birth hun, and enjoy those newborn snuggles. I have no idea what is up with your eyebrows, lol. What a strange symptom.

AFM - Well, I'm sick to death of vodafone's POOR SERVICE, and have decided not to pay yet again to recharge my mobile broadband (which runs at dialup speed and drops out constantly). So I'll be without internet for a couple of days until we can sort something else out. I do have it on my phone but that's for emergencies, lol. My phone is also through vodafone though.. so blech to that, who knows if it'll work like it's meant to. In baby related news, we just realised last night that since my placenta had moved up and the dr is happy with it......... 26 weeks was our last scan! I can't believe the next time we see bubby will be his/her birthday.

It seems that all I have to do is glance away and I miss a few pages lol!

kit- I do so hope you are next, I think the fest of us want to keep ours a cookin' for at least a while yet lol.

forshelby- do you not get a 32week U/S?

...now what else can I get my mind to remember right now?...

t-hopes- my doc kept saying that ds had a big head lol, he ended up with an undersized one so I wouldn't worry

Mildez- ahh that vein sounds nasty :s I don't know how I could live without DTD as often as I do so I hope it settles down for you enough so you can get your action

Reet- lol at the freaking out. It can be pretty freaky at times though. I remember laying on my belly and thinking that somehow my matteress punched me haha!

ferrals- i hope you find a decent place soon.

ok so that's as much as I can remember lol. How is everyone else going?

aFM- getting cramps off and on. Some I wonder if I should really go see a doc right away, others not so bad. Trying to just go with the flow though so will see what tomorrows scan will bring I so cannot wait to see my Bubba up on the screen

    Hi ladies!
On my phone again as I cancelled our home Internet as it was costing a fortune!

I just wanted to pop in and tell you all that I saw the most beautiful sight today.. I had my screening appointment at the hospital and i mentioned to the OB how anxious I've been this week as it's the time I lost my last baby (but didn't know til 3 weeks later) so he did a quick scan.. And lo and behold was my little bubba.. Kicking his/her arms and legs and moving like crazy! I so wasn't expecting it to look like an actual baby! I measured 2 days behind but I think it's cos the machine wasn't the best (I hope!). I am booked in for another scan tomorrow so we'll double check then!
    Woohoo!

Sorry it's selfish but I can't go back to see what everyone else has written!
Hope you are all well! Xx

Damprye - LOL @ the mattress punching you.... Apparently I don't need the 32wk scan as we know the placenta is ok now. Good luck for your scan tomorrow

Stoked - Not a selfish post at all, how exciting! 2 days behind is a matter of millimetres, so I wouldn't worry at all. I too will be on phone internet for a few days while we sort out a better home internet solution.

Well, little sweetpea is hanging in there! I went to the OB today and he did an external scan (no internal needed, yay!) and we could see the baby and see the flickering heartbeat and if we were really quiet we could hear the heartbeat too (and see it on the graph on the screen). All looked ok. And my thyroid results came back normal (Yay cos they were too high in my first pg that miscarried).

I have to admit though, i was already feeling sad again on the way home: I'm so scared of everything that can go wrong. The scan only reassured me all is ok for now. I can't be sure it will still be ok next week. Because the first baby i lost died jst before 12wks i think i won't relax until i'm past the 12wk scan. (And even then... I think i know too much now about all the things that can go wrong in pg. I'm scared stiff). I'm trying hard to get back to the mantra i used when pg with DD: "other people have healthy babies, there's no reason that can't be me."

PHew! Alright, enough gloominess... and about me.

T-Hopes: Oh i can so understand why you'd be obsessing over what the u/s person said about baby's ear but I agree: It's probably nothing; just the way bub was facing when they took his/her picture (with ear closest to the camera!) Glad all was good.
Kellbell: Gosh people are tactless hey? Why would you freak out a pg person with stories like that?! Glad your little man kicked up a fuss about it.
Stoked: HOw lovely you saw your baby. And Two days behind is not something they worry about i don't think.
Damprye: Good luck with your scan. Will be lurking to hear your news.
Tegam: :Thank you! That's cool you remember Molly at 6wks of pg. Helps me to visualise ahead to when I might have a newborn too. Also, it was great reading what you wrote about Molly: I could picture her all snuggled up in bed with excited siblings all around. A lovely image.
Forshelby: Good news that your placenta is movin' on up. Does that mean you can go for a natural birth?
    Kitfaerie: Different colour eyebrows? Awesome!
Ferrals: I hope the house hunting gets better. And yay for getting closer to finishing work!
Mildez: ouch poor you with varicose veins up there. My good friend who's near term with her baby has the same thing. (And she did for her last pg too and all went ok with the birth).
Reet: How cool that you can feel all of bubby's little pokie arms and legs now!
Alish: I can relate to your nerves. I hope you can get some reassurance soon with blood results and scan.

Mildez- OMG that sounds awful! U poor poor thing! Im glad u can still dtd tho.. bet ur dh is too, pity ur in pain afterwards, i hope its always worth it at the time tho! I think i wld be a bit worried about labour too.. imagine bursting the vein! Its not like ur not already in enough pain giving birth!
I hope i have some sex drive after this baby is born, i think its going to kill my dh getting thru the 6 weeks without sex after i give birth!! Its not looking too promising tho, i dont have much of a sex drive now, i'd probably be happy with maybe once a week if i didnt have an everyday man!

Ferrals- Best of luck house hunting!!

Kit- Oh so close now!! I bet the last 2 weeks are a little scary, glad u have some good books to keep u occupied Have u started doing any of the things that supposedly bring on labour yet??

Forshelby- I cant believe how close u are!! LESS then 10 weeks to go! So do u feel all organised and ready?? Is the babies room complete?? I still want to see pics!!

Tegam- Hello!!!!! So good to see u in here again!!! Ur little molly does sound just perfect!! I cant believe ur already doing the food shopping with the whole clan! Im already worrying about doing it with just one baby! Glad ur doing so well

Damprye- Yay for tomoro!! Cant wait to hear ur exciting news!

Stoked- Woohoo! How exciting! It sounds like u have a little groover growing inside u! Its the best piece of mind seeing them in there all happy and healthy hey..

Kell- Oh how annoying that ur friend felt the need to share those stories. I have been having the same worrying thoughts lately... every week that goes by i feel a lot 'safer' I cant wait til im 28ish weeks.. ill feel a lot better then i think. Great that baby is kicking around a lot, mine feels like it never stops too!

AFM- I think i may have started nesting! Or maybe i just had a little cleaning attack cos the inlaws are coming to stay on sat for a week.. haha, always a good reason to clean things! I fully sorted the kitchen tho and got rid of all the stuff we dont use, i even got rid of the mismatching knives and forks! Feels so good to declutter!
I have written myself a big list with every room in the house on it and what needs to be done in each one.. (i love lists!!) I want to get it all done in the next 6 weeks.
Still havent even looked at baby stuff yet.. we are going to wait til the inlaws are gone and then move all the furniture out of the room and give it a good clean out and then buy the cot etc. I cant wait!
