Hi girls, I have been having some really shocking cramping, going to just try and take it easy for the day, not that I wasn't already! They seem to have settled down now, but I was getting a little worried. My hospy bags are all packed now, except for the baby stuff - realised we actually don't have anything because I haven't felt ready to get that much for now, except nappies. Not that a Brissie summer baby needs much more! Anyway, working on that now.

Good luck at the dentist murraycod! I'm a freak and I love going to my dentist.

I keep wanting to buy stuff for this baby but i keep thinking the same thing about brissie summers. this will be my first summer baby!

Hiya all - I have been busy with my Mum visiting so haven't been on for a while. All going well here.... am on the watch list for possible pre-eclampsia due to a cluster of symptoms recently, but it's not in the definite stage at the mo. It might just be a bad case of CANKLES and elevated blood pressure ( DH reckons my mum might make my BP go up and me become uncharateristically cranky...LOL) I feel well and robust and am enjoying waddling and generally love being UTD. Am now going to catch up on what I've missed out on in here..... oh excitment plus here 35 weeks gone and 35 days to go...

Dory -You must be feeling excited now. Hey how is the numbness of the hands (fingers)...you mentioned that in previous posts, and that reminds me on mentioning about numbness of my feet (legs ) and occassional left hand...is it pregnancy related???
I tried finding-out in my pregnancy book (what to expect...) = but no clues????/

Ric - today for the first time I felt tingling and numbness in my feet. I stopped to talk to a local "special guy" and had trouble getting away from him. Standing still for so long must have done it.... I presume it had to do with the oedema/swelling in my legs and feet affecting the circulation? I will ask the Obs at my appointment tomorrow. Tingling in the hands can be caused by fluid retention in the wrists which compresses the carpal tunnel/nerve, there can be other reasons but generally to do with nerve compression.

I started out with tingling/numbness in only some fingers and only at the tips and only occassionally. It is now pretty much constant and involves all fingers and most of each finger, but not usually the thumbs. I have spoken to the obs/mid wife and physio about it. You can wear a brace or wrist compression bandage ( like the sports ones you get in the chemist). The physio said for me, probably not worth it for only 5 weeks and gave me some exercises... basically finger wiggling/waving/touching/clenching, making sure I raise my hands above my heart regularly, and also waving my arms around generally to try and disperse the fluid. My hands ache and are hard to move in the mornings but that does ease. I have read it gets better over the course of the day but not for me. Patting the cats does help! So they are more than just emotional therapists now. Preparing dinner does not. I have had to adjust how I do some tasks as I don't really have the same strength in my hands, but that's not hard to work out. Physio also suggested alternating hot and cold immersion finishing on cold, but I haven't done that. Reminds me too much of recovery from sports, which I miss but did it used to work wonders for muscle fatigue and recovery and reducing swelling. There might even be an article about it here on BB. Hope you don't get it too bad. Oh - remember to put your feet up above your heart and wiggle them, and do ankle rotations. That might help your feet. The glories of our much longed for pregnancies!

Tegam - congrats on your bonding, that's just beautiful. Aaaggh bring on summer. singlet tops and thongs.

Dory - You are just too nice, standing talking until it feels like your fingers and toes are falling off. I don't think the guy would have understood, can't really see tingling. Hope the exercises give some relief. Happy waddling.

Murraycod - I was glad I went to the dentist last week. Just got my teeth cleaned. Feels so good. Hope your tooth isn't too much trouble.

Audax - Hope you can feel right about getting some baby clothes soon. It wil complete your bag packing.

And Hi to everyone else. I think I've caught up on a lot of reading now and send best wishes to everyone. Especially sending love to those who have had bad news, my heart goes out to you, and hope you are doing better each day.

AFM - I'm going to work today. Doesn't sound like much, but I've had more days off over the last month than days at work. I'd been doing well when at work, but ended up collapsing in a heap too often when I get home, both physically and emotionally. So a bit scary this morning, thinking about my 1pm start. Balled my eyes out last night thinking about it, DH doesn't know what to do poor fellow. I just don't know how to deal with 'not coping' with the work load. Previously I've pushed my body to it's limits, but now, with bubs on board I'm so protective of my health. Well, I'm polishing up my armour and getting back on the horse. And I don't know whether I want to change jobs because it is high and mighty time, or whether it's just been this exhaustion thing. I've got a suspicion that it's time. Will find out today at 12noon whether maternity leave benefits can be transferred to a new job that I"m thinking about applying for.

Anyway, have our 12 week U/S tomorrow, just a LIIIIIIIIITTTLE EXCITED and

Summer is here! I'm in singlets and shorts today, and have been out on our outdoor couch doing my nails. I love mat leave! We're flying to Melbs tomorrow though, not excited about hitting that world of cold!

I'm getting really tired again - about 10:30 every morning I have this incredible urge to go back to bed. I'm sleeping fairly well, 8-9 hours a night, but then just get soooo tired again through the day. Some days I have a sleep, especially if I've been exercising. I thought it was too early for this kind of exhaustion!

Since we're all talking dentists, I'm going on Tuesday. I love it there though, they are so lovely. I'm actually just seing the hygienist, but the dentist always pops his head in to talk about bikes. It's pretty cool.

Sneaking in girls got a BFP last Saturday morning - ive been for blood tests this morning so a nervous wait till monday -
theres a few of us in the TCC thread with BFPs so guess well all be crashing your group soon

I had a question - my GP said i could have a scan wed at 6 weeks is it worth going or should i wait. i think i have ovulated quite late as took 4 days after AF was due to get my BFP! i just don't know what to do!

Kellbell congrats honey!!!! Ultrasound is totally up to you, I waited untill 7 1/2 weeks, so I could see a heart beat. Don't think you will get to see a HB that early XX

Girls the dentist was so scary at first but they were all so lovely. Got my tooth checked, all good. Had my teath cleaned and they feel great, no more pain since then but I have the worlds most agonising headache today, so going to go hae a nana nap XX

kellbell! Id wait but thats just me. I had to have a scan at 6 weeks to see if it was in the right spot after the ectopic and it wasd really hard to seethat it was there but not have that reasurance that it was viable (hate that word) but thats what it said on the report. blah blah blah...can not confirm viability as not heartbeat picked up! Which is normal but scary!

Tegam - AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I am so glad you're feeling the love and joy and pride... when you feel it is it amazing and wonderous..... I am so proud of you. How did you cope in the heat today?

Murray - glad the dentist was ok..... I have a persistent headache too...annoying.... I LOVE that you are 15 weeks along... how are you going with the crazy lady?

Audax - I have the same problem - it seems the better I sleep at night the more I need to sleep during the day... today I went back to bed after my obs app, and slept until the arvo.... I was trying to avoid that headache and heat... and it mostly worked. I am not sure I think I look hot, but DH does, and he tells me all the time. So sweet. As much as I want to meet bubs, I think I am going to, in some ways, miss being pregnant. It's a pretty special time to know you're growing a little human being and person and to watch your tummy move around while this new person does their own thing...

Timeforafamily - thankyou sweetie.... the special guy had no idea ... he was just happy to have someone talk to him... how did your scan go today? Thinking of you.

Kellbell - WELCOME - I was so excited when I saw your name in here! Come in and celebrate and embrace your pregnancy...... I so remember when there was 244 days to go... and now look at me....

AFM - Obs was at pains to know my plans for the weekend ( and approved them and told me in essence not to go too far) and also told me twice he was on call.... hmmm... I wonder..... I am hoping to make it to September... only another 2 weeks... hold on bubba, be patient little one, your time to arrive is not now....not just yet.

YAY Dory! My little Evie was born at 36weeks and she was just perfect, went home after 4 hours and fed like a dream! So dont be too worried if things start to rumble soon! You have made it my love you have made it!

Heat was LOVELY! who in blah blah likes maternity jeans, no matter what pair i try they will not stay up! Bring on the summer maxy dress i say! By then you will be holding your baby, going for walks to the park! Oh that cute bum in the sun time!


Oh and not sure i mentioned it today! IM HAVING A BABY! Im so happy, nothing is going to burst this bubble!

kellbell - welcome honey! I stuck it out til past 7 weeks for my scan too, saw this little prawny thing and its little heartbeat and had a cry, but to be honest, it didn't really do that much to reassure me. It wasn't til I got to the 12 week scan that I started to believe it, and I didn't really get excited until the 20 week scan.
