Angelfish..im glad you got to hear bubs..hope everything goes fantastic monday...hows DH?
Tegam..thanks...how are you?

Just a quick one - An hour and 20 minutes till my scan and still haven't finished even 300ml of my water and already needa pee.... UGH!
-
Oooh that'll be me tomorrow DD! GL for the scan!
-
Oooh DD - you must be about to head in for your scan, I hope it's an awesome one! Good luck and I hope your bladder didn't burst!
phee - the main thing is be well hydrated and don't pee for a few hours before the scan. You don't need to be busting, just have a relatively full bladder.
Melster - the working only a couple of days makes it hard to take a day off doesn't it. But if you need it... I'm only 2 days a week in the office, and the other day they were talking about who was due holidays etc and the fact that I haven't had one since I came back didn't even come up! But then, they think the days we have at home, and maternity leave are holidays. Sometimes I hate working with men and people without children... Certainly makes the guilty feeling about getting pregnant annoying!
-
India's mum: yes it was me that asked about gender of baby. But s'ok! Happy to get a surprise along with everyone else. Really hard to know and not let slip though isn't it? It's a shame your sister got so mad at you when you accidentally said s/he. People are often delighted when someone slips up and they get 'inside information'! Oh, and I can only imagine how long your pregnancy feels when you've spent so much time being pregnant the last two years. For me, i felt that way during the first trimester: because i'd spent 8mths in the first trimester over about 18mths! But i feel different now because this is as far as I've got since DD and it reminds me more of my experience being pregnant the first time (which ended well with my beautiful DD). What i mean is, i'm able to enjoy this bit more because i was starting to think i'd never get this far again with a lovely big tummy and a kicking baby. Having said that, i can't enjoy it quite as much as the first time: too anxious to get this little one out in the world and know s/he is safe and sound.
Melster: Sorry you have been so sick. IKWYM about how it's hard to take time off when working part-time. I feel really guilty doing it and it's hard to avoid: between DD and I there is often a reason for me to be home sick or looking after DD when she is. And when you only work part-time it's hard to make up the work I find. (Well in my job anyway). Lucky for me i have a very child friendly job and they don't give me a hard time about sick leave (it's mostly my own guilt that's the problem). Hope you feel better soon.
Darkdreamer and Phebee: good luck with your scans! Do they still do the full bladder ones? My more recent early scans have all been internal. I know that sounds worse but actually i haven't found it uncomfortable at all; less uncomfortable than a full bladder in fact. I remember my earliest scan with DD nearly four years ago where i did need to drink beforehand and sitting in the waiting room feeling sooo uncomfortable trying not to wet myself!
Alish: How are you going? Any news from Damprye?
Tegam: Welcome back after your ban! I know i should ban myself as well and get some things done to prepare for baby etc... but i just can't bring myself to do it! Too addicted.
Jenna Jayen: Sorry for your loss. Sounds like you had mixed feelings about the way things turned out in terms of your baby being so young still yet liking the idea of another baby. I hope you continue to feel ok.
Wannabemum, Cheshire, Cheezelmonster and anyone else i've missed hope you are all well and enjoyed the long weekend. DH and I had a day just the two of us on Monday and did some cleaning and sorting to make room for baby in the spare bedroom. Then went out for lunch together. Nice day and made me feel good that we'd made a start on the baby's room (even though baby will probably sleep in our room in a bassinet for a while).
AFM: You know how they tell you to be aware of whether the baby is moving regularly? Well I do, and sometimes I stress when baby is quiet but mostly it's ok. But i also read that if there is 'frantic' kicking this can also be a sign of baby in distress. How are you meant to know what that feels like? Sometimes the baby does these funny shuddery movements that worry me a bit and I hope the poor thing isn't getting tangled in there. But it's probably just when i am sitting forward and squashing it a bit instead of sitting up nice and straight and letting it have lots of room. Still, hard for me not to worry. But mostly i enjoy the movement. Last night baby managed to poke out in three places at once. Like a little octopus! Arms and legs everywhere!
-
possium magic~ When i was as far along as you were with honor i would fell the shudder movments too i would get all freaked out scared about the baby having problems but i got told that everything was fine. I hope that might help also about the lack of movement i swear honor would go two days of none stop moving then go take three days off.
AFM~ My BF is kinda of coming around he is worried that i might lose this one and were are we going to get the money for this one. But life is still stressful when it comes to his kids i dont want to sound mean but He wants to hold honor back on things in the future all becosue his kids who dont live with him never got a chance to do it.
-
hey all
possum - im going good thanks! not much happening here really.. she is going mental, moving all the time and not just little movements, like full on rave parties! its always been this way though, so im not worried.. sometimes it hurts me but id rather feel everything than nothing..
havent heard anything from dampyre in a week or so
jenna - sorry for your loss..
melster - how are you feeling?
phee - how are you?
darkdreamer - how did your scan go?
hi tegam!! hows it going?
hi cheshire, cheesel & anyone i forgot.. hope youre well also..
we had a pretty good long w/e - we didnt do too much, just went up to swifts ck to watch the mower races & then up to hotham to play in the snow, theres so much already! on monday i sorted out all the hand me downs from my sister, i seriously only have to buy singlets.. i have so many clothes, half of them are brand new.. i have more blue jumpsuits than anything and dh isnt too keen on putting a girl in blue so im not sure if i buy diff colour ones?
-
alish - I didn't think I'd have a problem with putting a little girl in blue if this one's a pink bundle, but I don't think I'll be able to! I'd buy a few non-blue ones. You wont be buying much that way, but will obviously have a little girl. Best n Less are really cheap! Worth a visit to pick up a few cheapies. Or just wait to see how much you get given - give people an idea of where you're short of stuff and let them fill the gaps. DH can always visit the supermarket while you're in hospital if he needs to!
angel - I'm glad your bf is coming around - I hope he stops feeling guilty if he is able to offer Honor more than his other kids. It's tough, my Mum was a sole parent pensioner until I was about 14, so my younger brother got more opportunities simply because the finances were different when he was a bit older - it irked at the time, but we understood it was just the way it was, and none of us missed out on what we needed. I hope he just gives all the love in the world to all his kids and enjoys the time he gets to spend with them :)
possum - try not to freak out too much about the movement. The main thing is regular movement, DS would always give a wriggle if I poked him when he'd been quiet for a while - some people swear by hot/cold drinks, or fizzy ones to make baby move. As for the "frantic" movement - who is meant to know what that means! Just enjoy the movement.
looking forward to some scan news from DD and phee!

Hi Everyone
I have been reading the thread and found I am not alone.
I am currently pregnant (only 7.5 weeks) after undergoing IVF. I had a misscarriage last year in October and I have not been the same since.
I have not slept properly since that time but more recently after finding out I am pregnant it has turned into severe Insomnia (7 weeks of it!). I only get 2 hours sleep a night.
I think I am turning into a mental case!
I have an internal ultrasound today and I am terrified.
My DD is at home with me today so he can look after our toddler :)
I just need to get some sleep and then I may feel human again.
-
Ha, I really am asleep. I meant DH instead of DD
-
I'm here nothing much happening tho.
Lauz congrats on your pregnancy & i hope everything goes well with your scan tomorrow.
Alish it wont matter what colour jumpsuits they are if she's going to bed or staying home in them, If you go out you could always chuck a pink jacket over them.
I'll bbl girls are demanding food again lol
-
Had a 6 week scan today. All going well so far. Yolk sac, fetal pole & heartbeat all visible. 115bpm. Spot on 6 weeks :)
Sent from my iPod touch - sorry for any mistakes!
-
Welcome Lauz - you're definitely not alone in here! I find belly buddy groups awesome, but the support in here is on a different level, it's like every fear I had was completely normal and I wasn't the first to feel it. It's easy to say, just try to relax, but of course nothing works like that does it. I hope your scan had great results and you got to see a little foetus in there with a strong heartbeat :) welcome and I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight!
Phee - that's awesome results for your scan! Low heartbeat's a boy yeah? lol, who cares - it's a healthy one :crossfingers: the next scan is just as awesome!
-
phebee.....im glad everything went well....
Lauz....welcome and congratulations. Im so sorry about ur situation. I hope u can get some good support. It can be very hard becoming pregnant after mc....how did ur internal go? theres probably not alot u can do about the insomnia.......the only thing is to try and relax before u go to bed....eg hot shower. Hot milk. Read a book. Get a massage. Clear ur thoughts.......maybe try some counseling? I hope u ended up getting some sleep.........im like that at the moment.......between my cold. Bad heart burn. Dead legs. Pains and aches. Needing to go to the toilet.....dd......im not getting much rest at all and it defiantly makes things worse
alish....i know with dd i had neutral stuff but when she was born i wanted to put her in girlie stuff especially when i had comments about what a lovely boy he is lol........but thats just me....nothing wrong with blue jumpsuits...u can add girlie stuff or like someone else said use them for sleeping etc
angelfish.......it does tend to be more difficult when stepkids are also in the mix......and i can completely understand were u coming from about honor missing out. It was a real big concern for me that my children get the change to have a normal life and to not miss out on anything due to the kids and money etc....i didnt think it was fair that they dont get to have a normal life and get the things other kids do........i hope he does come around and things work out
pm....i know that they sayfor the different stages there are a certain amount of movements u count and that will tell u if things are ok...and that the later u are the less movements u get because there all swished in there and dont have much room so its more a rolling movement and pushing......if u are ever that worried dont hesitate to get monitored....better safe than sorry
heyh darkdrfeamer..wannabe...cheshire..anyone i have missed
atm.........well im defiantly feeling in the last stages of the pregnancy....im still trying to do all the stuff i used to do...but my body is not letting me..my body is really tired and i cant walk as far...i try...but get so tired....and my hearts been racing quiet a bit.....4 weeks to go so no wonder i feel the way i do. Im quiet hormonal again and along comes all the hormonal stuff...nausea. Headaches. Pains...im really thirsty again and cant drink alot because when i do it just wants to come bk up and gives me the worst heart burn...everything is swished in there so i am not even feeling that hungry.....movement is feeling really wiered....it really hurts sometimes and makes my belly go funny......im not feeling too flash thats for sure.....been getting period pains but nothing major...a bit of tightening......still have to add things to my bag and trying to organise getting my dad and dd looked after for when i go into labour.........been quiet stressful with dad as he is going down hill a bit........other than that just plodding along
-
Aww Melster that doesn't sound like fun! Rest up and take it easy!
Sorry, it's hard to do persies from Tapatalk cause you can't multi-quote, but I have read all your posts and hope everyone is doing well.
Well I found out today when I picked up my scan pics that I have '2 small foci of subchorionic haemorrhage' which basically means there are 2 bleeds between my uterus and placenta.
Doc explained it & tried to reassure me but I think I must be a good actress cause I think he thought I wasn't as worried as I am. I came home feeling like I'd been diagnosed with cancer, but since then people on here and Dr Google have been quite reassuring (yes, even Dr Google!) I'm just going to pray and leave it in God's hands!
Sent from my iPod touch - sorry for any mistakes!
-
Hey everyone..sorry I have been MIA
Everything (surprisingly) is going really well.. I am so used to bleeding in every pregnancy that it shocks me I havent even had a spot this time..I have every symptom in the book and honestly I just want to get into the 2nd trimester and be done with this stage. Watching a 2 year old and feeling like your going to hurl all day sucks...:( My depression is getting a little better since I have passed my dreaded 5 week miscarriage mark....but I still feel low every now and then. I think I just feel so guilty that I am not as excited with this PG as I was with DD and the other miscarriages
-
Phebee - I have a blood clot (subchorionic haemorrhage) behind the placenta that has been there from the beginning. I think as long as you are not bleeding then they are happy to just wait and see what happens. Most are reabsorbed by the body by 20 weeks. I don't know why mine hasn't gone but I haven't had any bleeding since around week 18 and baby is the size they are supposed to be. Yours will likely be gone over the next few weeks.
-
Pheebee~ i had one also with Honor and it disapeared by the 20 week scan as long as you dont start bleeding your fine its actually pretty common from what i got told.
AFM~ i have been hiding under my rock monday i go in for my scan in a big city area were i am not use too and there is always that fear inside of you
