Oh my god.. just got home from the emergency dep.. i was just about to go to bed at about 10pm, went to the toilet, wiped and saw blood. MY WORST FEAR. Its what i have been imagining seeing for the last 14 weeks... so so scary. I was shaking when i called dh and asked him what i shld do.. he said u wont be able to sleep u may as well see if u can get an u/s done.
I called my sisters and they came in with me.. it took about an hour to see anyone, the dr had a feel of my tummy, did an internal ( with her fingers.. i thought wen she said internal she meant an internal u/s) took some blood, took a swab of the bloody stuff and told me to go and wait for the results. I realised that she wasnt even going to worry about an u/s so I had to ask if it was possible to get a doppler to check babies hb.. i had done it at home but just wanted to be sure i was listening to the right thing and that it was still strong. She told me she wld have a look around for it and let me know (i cant believe its not the first thing they do when there is a risk of m/c!) Thankfully she came out and got me and said she had found someone that cld do a quick u/s. The u/s man was quite mean tho! He asked me if i had any previous scans done and i said yes 2 (i didnt tell him about my 2 weekly ob. appointments where i also get u/s's done) He acted rather shocked and asked me why 2! I said a dating scan plus the 12 week scan.. he asked why 12 weeks? I said just to test for DS and the trisomy things.. he looked at me like i was crazy and said ur 24 and testing for those things.. and i said better to be safe then sorry, he replied with oh but that opens a whole new can of worms that u wld have to deal with. OMG!! gggrrr i just said.. yeah im very lucky it came back all fine.
He had a look at baby and said something along the lines of 'Ok is that all u wanted to see?..yes u have a baby in ur uterine'. And walked out. Rude man.
I was reassured after i saw our little baby still moving around and i wld have been happy to have just gone home (1am by this stage) but the dr said i had to wait for bt results to come back.. finally at 2.30 she came and got me and said everything is looking fine, their not sure where the bleeding is coming from.
I just dont know what wld have happened if i hadnt asked for a doppler to be used! What good really is finding out my hcg levels, hemaglobin (sp?) levels (when i have told them i havent lost a lot of blood) and blood group! None of those things say that my baby is alive! They did keep saying to me tho that if i am m/c there is nothing they can do other then make sure im ok.. Great reassurance guys!! I do realise that! Im here because i need some reassurance.. NOT because im scared im bleeding to death!

Anyway the main thing is things are looking alright now.. the blood is a bit orangey/ browny and its only when i wipe or push a little (tmi). Im really hoping it goes away tomoro tho.. i honestly cant live in fear of bleeding for the rest of the pg! I was just starting to relax the last 2 days too... Good one universe!!!

Sorry that this is so long and rambled.. i am super tired.. just trying to stay awake til 4am cos i have to ring dh for his wakeup call to go to the airport so he can come home... yay!!! (by the way he was already meant to be coming home in the morning thank goodness.. this isnt some emergency trip )

Nite nite xxx oh and pls everyone tell the bleeding to bugger off for me!!!

Reet i am so sorry that you had to go though this its bad enough to worry about the baby but to be treated like that. I had to fight one time also in the er to get a us done to check and make sure that the baby was okay. Praying that everything is okay

Angelfish - Good luck bringing that cholesterol down. I've heard it isn't the most difficult thing to do, so with some good advice from the dr you should be fine.

Reet - what a rude man! I found the hospital to be really harsh and un-caring during my mc, they had the attitude that sh** happens and that was that. My heart was in my throat though when I read that you had some bleeding. Keep your feet up, don't lift ANYTHING, and remember the odds are still in your favour. Do you know where abouts your placenta is located? If it's low you can have some bleeding from that. Or perhaps your cervix was slightly irritated by something? Hang in there though, I've got everything crossed for you that this was just a little speedbump.

T-Hopes the exact thing happened to me at 8weeks. All my pregnancy symptoms just vanished on day and stayed away for 3days. The MS came back for a day only to disappear again. It continued with this pattern from the 8weeks to 11 when it stayed away for good. I was very anxious also that I had a missed m/c. At times I spent almost all day crying over it comletely convinced I had lost bub but on Tuesday bub was still in there doing well according to the Ob. Even now at 16weeks I still have days where I feel I have probably lost the baby. Its torturous and I think LTTTC and lossing past pregnancies has totally fueled my anxiety. Hope you get some reassurance soon that everything is going fab!

Yep, same thing happened to me around 8 weeks, woke up one morning feeling quite good and then burst into tears when I realised I wasn't feeling sick. It came back the next day, it's totally normal to have it go and come back as the placenta slowly takes over. It is so incredibly difficult to believe that everything will be ok....but everything will be ok
