Yes, baby was estimated to be about average size at 20 and 34 week scans. Nobody made any big deal about size or weight or anything, just that she was right on average.
She was a 9 pounder (a couple of grams short, but close to 9lbs) and I had really minor tearing. There was debate as to whether it was first degree or grazing. So big doesn't mean tearing.
with my daughter they told me at my 20 and 34 week scan she was going to be much bigger then my first (he was born 8.11lbs) but she came out 8.6lbs
when i was in labour with my son they predicted he would be between 7-8lbs but he was a little bigger lol my OB was very shocked
but this bubs is measuring smaller then my first 2 so ill be intertested to see how big he comes out his currently in the 14-20%weight/size range at my 32week U/S
Yep, with DS they predicted he would be huge... and he was a WHOPPER! Massive tearing too, sorry not much comfort! But, would i do it again, absolutely! Couldn't stop me A year down the track, would i even know i had torn, not at all...
At the end of the day you have what you have and there isn't a lot that you can do to change it
No, never had anyone try and predict birth weight/size at any scan. For either baby. And I wouldn't pay any attention to it if they did, US is notoroiously inaccurate when it comes to gestamating weight. Plus, there are about 7 different planes they can take the baby's head size on, so you would need to know which they are using to guage head size.
DD1 was an ECS, so can't help there, but she was deemed "right size for dates" throughout the pregnancy and was 8lbs5.
DD2 was a VBAC, and I had 2nd degree tearing, due to the ventouse extraction. She was 7lbs7. I had no pain at all after with the tearing, it was internal, they stitched it and it was like it never happened. I was paranoid about it too, but I went to my 6 week check up and the GP checked the stitches/healing etc and her remarks were "Beautiful. If a vagina could ever be called beautiful, yours would be. They did a perfect job."

i honestly dont think they can predict at all... i was told that DS WASNT going to be late n he would be between 7 and 8 pound, and i was only measuring 1 day over... he was 11 days late and 9 pound 1 lol.. they are saying this one is bigger, im measuring 8 days ahead... so will see what happens lol
