The weeing bit is absolutely normal. Pregnancy puts a lot of strain on your pelvic floor, and as you've been pregnant before it's more likely. Don't be too worried, maybe just take to wearing a liner all the time.

As for the vomiting, no idea on that one, maybe it's just the unsettling of your stomach? Hmmmm

I don't think youre weird at all!
When your pg your pelvic floor has alot more weight on it so that can cause your wee problem - you need to get onto doing some pelvic floor exercises asap because unfortunately it can just get worse!
I'm not sure about the vomiting thing - hopefully someone with some wisdom will come help!!
All the best with the rest of your pg

I think we've all had a bit of wee at some stage!
It's the weight of bubs on your bladder & your pelvic floor muscles.
You can & should do kegels exercises to strengthen these muscles. You tighten the muscles as if you are holding on - needing to wee - for about 10 seconds I think. Have a 10 second break & do it say 5 or 10 times at a time.
If you are in a city they say to do it every time you see a red light to remember. Or maybe you could do it every time you open your fridge.
The best way to practise is to go to the loo & stop your wee half way through. Thats your pelvic floor muscles stopping it. Thats what the exercises are.

Maybe the vomiting is just coz your belly's a bit shaken up?

Hey ladies just thought I'd add my bit. I've heard cutting you wee off mid-stream whilst pregnant is not a good thing.

Best not to use that to practice PF exercises unless yr OB says it's okay.

I do a swimming class with a physio and we do loads of work on PF - good stuff!

The weeing thing is absolutely normal, i hope it makes you feel better knowing your not the only one who this happens to.
As for you throwing up afterwards, i would put it down to the increased hormones from being preg and then doing the deed.
Could be your getting motion sickness as well. lol

No, I agree stopping your self going all the time wouldn't be adviseable. But I was told to do it once, so I knew which muscles I was supposed to be using.

The weeing thing is normal. I was vomitting yesterday (in the sink of all places) and lost control of my bladder with each vomit. Lovely.

lol, oh the joys of pregnancy

speaking of PF, has anyone tried those weights?

I'm having trouble locating the correct muscles to exercise - I can stop mid-wee (only just) but then can't be sure I'm using the same muscles later when trying to exercise. I have a male Dr and have had all kinds of embarressing discussions with him but for some reason, I'm struggling to bring this one up (silly, I know).

I can scrunch everything up down there (for want of a better description) but heard that you shouldnt be tightening your butt when doing PF exercises - *sigh* I really have no idea do I, lol

Another way to find the right pelvic floor muscles to exercise is to wash your hands, then insert a finger into your vagina. Tighten your muscles until you feel the muscles of your vagina squeezing your finger. Those are your pelvix floor muscles. Practice doing it without squeezing your bottom as well, and you will get the hang of it.

I wasn't sure if I was doing them right, but I was speaking to a physio abut back pain and she stressed the importance of kegels for more than just bladder control. She made it very simple for me:

    - Stand comfortably and put your hands over the front of your pelvis, a couple of cm in front of your hipbone.
    - Breath out and relax.
    - As you take a breath in, gently tighten the muscles under your hands so you feel them draw in and go firm.

When you feel those muscles tighten, you'll also notice the muscles around the anus tightening as well. This is all you have to do, it's very easy.

The thing with kegels is, you don't have to strain or over exert yourself. My pamphlet says "it can be likened to idling an engine as opposed to revving it."

Start just counting five seconds while you gently hold the muscles firm. Do a set of 5. Gradually build up until you can hold for 20 seconds.

    Good luck!

    Thanks schmickers & kuraiza,

I'm sure that info will come in handy when I get home - would look a little strange to try the techniques while at work, 'specially schmickers, lol

    aah, the joys of pregnancy
