    booked induction?

    hey girls,

i was just wondering if any one knew if you can book for an induction like the week before or on your due date so that you dont go over. i dont mind if i go over but im really just interested to know.
my doctor wants me to be booked in for a c-section as i had to have an emergency c-section last time. i would prefer to have a vbac but thinking maybe i could do a booked induction.
    what do you think?

    thanks girls

Unfortunately if you are wanting a VBAC, then you wont be able to have an induction, so you will have to be prepared to go up to 14days past dates, and then the only induction you are likely to have available to you is having your waters broken (ARM) or sometimes you can have a balloon catheter inserted to help open the cervix, but 'traditional' induction methods will carry a very high risk, and therefore not recommended. If you are really adamant that you want a VBAC, then you really need to prepare yourself for it, and that includes dealing with coping going past dates.

Read! There are some great books out there to help you prepare for a VBAC. Have a look at the BB recommended reading list here https://www.bellybelly.com.au/misc/r...d-reading-list and also Silent Knife is another great book to get a hold of http://forums.bellybelly.com.au/foru...r-reviews.html

There are also some great articles on the main BB site about VBAC here https://www.bellybelly.com.au/birth/...fter-caesarean and here https://www.bellybelly.com.au/birth/vbac-on-whose-terms

and one for natural induction methods https://www.bellybelly.com.au/birth/...uction-methods

Good luck and I hope you get the birth your want!
