    dry skin.....

hey ladies, lately my skin has gone so dry, especially on my legs and gets itchy and was even flaky the other day.
have never really had yo use moisturisers before as my skin is generally ok...

is this a normal thing or is it my hydration levels?
i drink about 3-4 750ml bottles of cordial and liquid a day.....

any suggestions, i am using moisturiser now but dont really like the oily feeling....

ARGH! it's horrible when that happens, I had terrible dry skin in my second trimester too! thankfully it is alot better now...
I use the palmer's cocoa oil for itchy skin (made for preggy women) all over my body when i get out of the shower, then i use the palmer's stretch mark cream and THEN the lotion on my belly, thinghs and BB's.

I have 11 days to go, no stretchies and no itchy skin!... The oil is oily when you first spray it on but i find it sinks into my skin so quickly, then it just feels nice and soft and it smells pretty too

    Lisabear,
I sound the same. I itch my legs all the time. Big W has a palmers pack with the non itch spray, body butter and cream. I just bought the cream but wish I bought the anti itch spray too.

I feel like a fat cow sometimes rubbing up against stuff with a big tummy on me. One time I got so involved I caused 2 big scratches up my leg. Im sure you are not as bad as me though.

I get white strech marks so they are pritty hard to see. I think I did well for a 9.5 pound baby. The cream did help alot though, worth using for sure. I do agree I hate how the cream sticks to your clothes and feels yuck for awhile.

I would also like to know...Is it to do with the amounts of water you drink why we have such dry skin?

Sweet almond oil rubbed onto the skin is very effective, then flannel it off with a hot flannel. I think the heat helps to absorb it and you are not left with oily skin. I get the Melrose brand from the health food shop for $7.50. I thinks its 500mls. It's also very good as a general belly or back rub, for stretch marks and to help stretch the perineum in your final 6 weeks and during labour for the back and perinuem. It is a very fine oil that is harmless to you and bub and absorbs quite well if left on.
