Unhappy Feeling so blah, where's my mojo gone??

    Hi,
I have a case of the sads today, feeling bloated, frumpy, have a cold and just generally blah and unattractive.

I feel like I have grown heaps in the last week, both in my "bump" and also behind me...where did all that arse come from??

In my 20s (I am now 37) I struggled with my weight and depression and only once reaching my 30s, did I make peace with my body, finding the right balance between exercise and good nutrition. I am feeling shades of the girl I once was coming thru & I really don't want to reconnect with her...

I am sure feeling this way is very common in pregnancy, but as I still have a long way to go, I am hoping this feeling will be fleeting. I want to embrace my bump & enjoy my pregnancy!

Any tips from those of you who have been there before? How do we find our inner "yummy mummy"??

I use an affirmation track from my hypnobabies program which includes feeling beautiful with the changes my body is making. I've struggled with the weight/size issue, especially when I just looked fat, not pregnant. My DH thinks I'm sexy, so that helps a lot. Getting some nice maternity clothes has helped as well. Focusing on nurturing baby helps, as does some basic exercise.

As for the arse - it's just fat storage to feed baby. I've been building mine up for years

    Im hearing you Sister.
I find forcing myself to get dressed properly helps. God knows I want to wear yoga pants and a hoodie every waking minute these days but I feel so much nicer in jeans and a cardi or a dress. And make up! Not lots, just a bit of mascara makes all the difference I reckon.
Having a cold wouldnt be helping, you poor thing! Try to look after youself, eat good food. Hope you feel better soon

    Thanks Peach and tashybabe,
Great ideas there tashy. I am still going to training twice a week, which I am pleased about & I do believe in positive affirmations too.
Knowing what it's like to experience depression, I know the signs and won't alow myself to get "pulled down" at least without a fight!

Peach, as I am working full time, getting dressed up is not a prob at this stage. I do think I might need a little revamp of the wardrobe tho, maybe a few pretty things for the weekends and to sleep in would be nice!

I also think I probably need a little "slap in the face". I am 37 after all, having my first bubba! Can't fight what the body is doing naturally!

Hi redhead, absolutely understand hun, especially the arse thing, my god I feel like I'm pregnant in the front and back.lol. But seriously I started feeling bit like a dag and frump in the 2nd trimester. So here is a list (that sometimes works to make me feel like a hot mama to be and picks up my mood...even if it is only for an hour:

*Sexercise...yes I know usually the last thing when your holding up a big bump but makes me feel like I am irresistable (even if it is only in my DH's eyes
*Cheese, chocolate and crackers (This is the time were you can indulge and you got through those 20's so don't worry bout facing that girl again, you will never go back to those days cos you are aware of changes that made you into the awesome woman you are today.)
*Bubble bath and shave the legs/Pluck eyebrows
*New undies (even if they are the packet ones, get really pretty ones.)
    * Watching sex and the city, have a laugh and meet your girlfriends for a mocktail.
    * Buy a gorgeous maternity dress, jeans, shirt..etc...
    * And like other ladies said good ol affirmation, even stick it on the bathroom mirror so you can read it daily.x

I have struggled all my pregnancy with this! I lost 30 kilos before getting pregnant, I finally at the age of 31 was happy with my body, then getting pregnant put a huge spanner in the system for me, I watch the number on the scales go up and keep thinking of all my lost hard work!!
Dh actually took the scales off me, however I have got to a point where I can look in the mirror and think I am beautiful, maybe not how I imagined I would look but my dh thinks I'm gorgeous and to me that us the main thing.

Stay active as long as you can, I'm 34 weeks and still walk 5-7 klm a day, if I miss my walk that's when I feel sluggish and yucky!!!

Hope you cold gets better soon
