When I was pregnant with my DS, I felt him kick for the first time at 16w6d and everyday after that.I felt this baby at 16w and have felt it everyday for the past 2.5 weeks and now haven't felt it since yesterday morning.I know all the doctors say that you don't always feel it this early on but I can't help but get a little worried.I know if I call the doctor he's just going to say it's normal and wait for my ultrasound which is Wednesday afternoon.
I'm known to get overanxious about this type of thing so if any of you lovely ladies could reassure me it's normal, I would be very thankful.
I used to get worried about this too - not a silly question at all!
If I had an ice cold dronk of coke it certainly got Bella moving or if I sat on the couch and just relaxed a bit I could conetrate and feel her usually - saying that Bubs also have quiet days when they are sleeping or just realxing - but I certainly know how stressfull this can be!
If all else fails go to your local hospital and tell them your cponcern and they should help you out.
I'd be concerned if I'd felt movement every day then nothing for that long. Try the icy cold drink thing. It's best to lie down after you have the drink. Usually you'll feel something pretty quickly. You can also try something with caffeine in it. Coffee made my bub move every time I drank it but I only tried that in the last couple of weeks so I'm not sure if it will work so early.
I agree, with DD1, DF was able to feel her kick at 16.5 wks. Now, with D?2 (lol) I'm 17.5 weeks and he still can't feel it.
Maybe try a cold drink to get things moving (I notice I can 95% of the time feel a movement after doing that).
If your concerned about lack of movement, it's hard to say 'just relax and it'll happen' - so I would book an appt with your GP asap if anything to put your mind at ease. If you feel a movement in the meantime you can always cancel the appt if need be.
Laura - I first felt movement (wouldn't call them kicks though) at about 14 weeks. Felt the movements for a couple of weeks and then didn't feel anything really for a couple of weeks after that. For me it seemed normal. Then the first real "kick" came at around 18-19 weeks. I think even after that I could go a day or two without feeling much. There is still plenty of room in there and if you've been busy yesterday and today you might have missed it.
I agree with the others though - try the cold drink, OJ, something with sugar etc and lie down.
If that doesn't work, I'd get an appt tomorrow to get checked. There's no point worrying until Wed.
Hope bubs has just had a quiet couple of days in there
I did the cold drink thing and nothing happened but I felt two small kicks while trying to fall asleep.I know I should be reassured by that but I still feel anxious about it.I just can't relax, i was similar last pregnancy too.I keep thinking what if something is wrong, I hate that I can't see in to my belly and know that all is ok.
Hopefully after my u/s tomorrow I'll be reassured everything is ok.
